Creating Trends Trend N 1* Transformerless UPS Trend N 2** Modularity For the first time in the threephase UPS market, revenues for transformerless three-phase UPS were greater than those for transformer-based three-phase in 2008. This shift in product topology was decisive, and is anticipated to continue to grow in coming years as the efficiency, size and manufacturing cost benefits of transformerless technology win over customers... The financial crisis has given IT executives who are willing to make tough decisions a platform to significantly rationalize their data centre and IT infrastructure, and cut up to 50% of current costs, which they can potentially leverage into new investments to make their organization more efficient or competitive. *Source: IMS Research June 2010 ** Source: Steve Sams, VP Global Site and Facilities, IBM Steve Sams, VP Global Site and Facilities, IBM April 2014 Slide 8
