Sardis Church Rd Extension to I 16
Project Information Sardis Church Rd Extension to I 16 Project Description: Extend the current Sardis Church Rd Extension from its current terminus at Hawkinsville Rd/Ga Hwy 247 to I 16 through Macon Bibb and Twiggs Counties. The TSPLOST will provide funding for the design, environmental, and right of way requirements. Benefits: This will allow commercial vehicles to more easily access the Middle Georgia Regional Airport and Robins AFB and other industries in south Macon Bibb and north Houston County. It will provide another river crossing, which should divert some traffic from downtown Macon Bibb and Highway 96 in Houston County as well as providing additional flexibility during natural disasters. Project Length: 7.1 Miles Cost: Design and Environmental $16,000,000 Right of Way $14,000,000 ADT 16,700 Preliminary GDOT (2045) Project Administration: Macon Bibb

7 th Street Truck Route
7 th Street Bridge Over Railroad Alternatives to be Developed
7 th Street Truck Route Possible Improvement at Walnut St
7 th Street Improvements At Eisenhower Pkwy.
7 th Street Truck Route Project Information Project Description: This project will make a number of improvements to intersections along 7 th Street to be able to better accommodate truck traffic. The primary improvement will be to build a bridge over the railroad track entrance to Brosnan yard to preclude vehicles from being stopped by trains at this location. Benefits: This will provide a viable alternative to log trucks going to Macon Chips at the end of Mead Rd and allow us to move many of them out of the downtown area onto 7 th Street. It will also separate vehicles from trains to improve safety. Project Length: 1.75 Miles Cost: $15,600,000 ADT: Undetermined Project Administration: Macon Bibb
Traffic Signal Houston Rd and Allen Rd
Traffic Signal Houston Rd at Allen Rd Project Information Project Description: This project will provide a traffic signal at the subject intersection. Houston Rd is a four lane undivided road with a two way left turn lane in the center. Allen Rd provides a significant connection with Hwy 247. Benefits: This will enhance safety and traffic operation by providing a traffic signal at a warranted intersection. Both roads are heavily travelled and have significant truck traffic. This project may be locally funded. Project Length: NA Cost: $222,460 ADT: Houston Rd 10,100 (2016), Allen Rd 4,220 (2016) Project Administration: Macon Bibb
Resurface Riggins Mill Rd Emery Hwy to Twiggs County

Benefits: Macon Bibb has a near term need of about $14M to resurface major streets in the county, not counting residential streets. Our normal spend rate of about $2.7M for all roads with LMIG and SPLOST will be insufficient to meet these needs. Project Length: 5.1 Miles Cost: $1,054,712 ADT: 2,830 1,790 (2016) Project Administration: Macon Bibb
Wesleyan Dr and Bowman Rd/Blvd Traffic Signal or Roundabout
Project Information Wesleyan Dr and Bowman Rd/Blvd Traffic Signal or Roundabout Project Description: This project will replace existing four way stop control at the intersection with either a roundabout or a traffic signal Benefits: The existing intersection is subject to long traffic back ups due to the four way stop at this intersection. Providing a traffic signal or roundabout will greatly enhance traffic operations at this intersection. Wesleyan Dr is the back door route to the large Shoppes at River Crossing shopping center, and Bass Rd/Blvd is a short cut connector between Riverside Dr and the fast growing Bass Rd. area. Project Length: NA Cost: $1,950,000 ADT: Wesleyan 3,940 (2016) Bowman Undetermined Project Administration: Macon Bibb

Transit Services
Transit Services Project Information Project Description: This project will provide the local 20% match for the purchase of new and replacement Macon Transit Authority (MTA) buses and the complete purchase of others. Benefits: A modern bus fleet is essential to attract riders, prevent air pollution, and keep operating costs and fares down. Over the ten year life of the TSPLOST, MTA expects to need approximately $1.2M in match money to replace buses. Including federal funds MTA could acquire 20 electric buses or replace their entire fleet of 28 route and 10 paratransit (Assumes $6M in federal funds over 10 Years) Project Length: NA Cost: $10,000,000 Rider Statistics: 800,000 passengers per year Project Administration: Macon Transit Authority

Alternative Project Replace Tucker Road Bridge Over Rocky Creek
Replace Tucker Road Bridge over Rocky Creek Project Information Project Description: This project will replace the existing bridge supported by timber piles with a modern bridge. Benefits: This timber supported bridge was constructed in 1935. It has a sufficiency rating of 6 out of 100, an extremely low rating. It was closed for several weeks in approximately 2008 for emergency repairs to the substructure. It is posted so that some school buses can not use this route due to their weight.
