EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Saving electricity is the primary concern and ultimate goal of every organization. The goal of this proposal is to ensure that all companies or cooperate organizations save energy thereby reduce their electricity bills by 25%. Silicones International is a Software / IT based organization that develops or imports various software for the benefit of its clients. We also provide services such as Queue Management, call Centre setup and energy saving devices. The key implementing activities involve; project approval/signing of agreements, energy audit of your location, examining of your electrical consumption (bills) and installation of our system. This recommended intervention does not require any initial deposit before the power analyses audit and installation. After one months of trial silicones will then be able to give a fixed price for the sale of our device. This singular investment, we believe will save your company a lot of money and also reduce the energy deficit of the count 2

PURPOSE AND JUSTIFICATION Problem It has been realized and identified that the whole country is facing energy crises and these crises are as a result of the power producing companies not being able to generate enough power. We at silicones believe that companies and institutions are consuming energy far more in excess than they should consume, and this is as a result of situations beyond their control, which we believe we can help resolve. This high consumption rate can be attributed to: Electrical equipment heating up when drawing power; This problem occurs as a result of excessive current, bad cables, poor connections and insulation breakdown. The excessive use of aluminium cables instead of copper; As far as electrical conductivity is concerned copper wires handle a wider load electrical power, allowing it to use less insulation and armoring compared to aluminium. Copper is a far better conductor of electricity than aluminium. Use of second hand electronics; Some second hand electronics have old/weak motors which cause high energy consumption. Distance between electrical meter and point of usage: The farther the meter is from the point of consumption (the electrical equipment) the higher the cost you will incur. Connection problems, etc. As a result companies/institutions are paying more for electricity than they should pay. 3

IMPLEMENTING ORGANISATION Silicones Global Solutions(SGS) is a software developing and consulting firm. We are known for our ability to deliver large scale, complex solutions within limited time lines and budgets. We are in partnership with ECG, Stanbic Bank, Tigo Ghana and NEDCO where we provide other services for them. We serve an elite clientele comprising financial and energy companies. Silicones International has been in the country for the past two years with branches in countries like UAE, Kenya, and Ethiopia with our head office in USA. We have partners in other countries who provide us with any technical assistance that we may need. It is therefore an undeniable fact that Silicones has the technical capabilities and competence to handle projects. 4

PROPOSED INTERVENTION Utility prices are rising daily and increasing the cost or expenditure of many institutions and organization. It is therefore our hope and intention that, this system will help companies deal with the rising cost of electricity bills. Based on our experience and feasibility study on a number of companies, we believe that our device would be of great benefit to you and your entire organization. Below is our proposed business deal; 1. We will need to sign a sales agreement with you. 2. We will conduct an Audit/ Power Analyses of your electrical consumption (bills) 3. We would install our system at your premises 4. We will do regular monitoring to be sure you are getting the desired and required compensation. 5. Your compensation will range between 15% - 30% off your electricity bills, depending on your maximum demand each month. 5

HOW THE POWER SAVER WORKS Over 3 Billion Ghana cedis worth of electricity is unusable energy, which is billed by the Power Company to consumers in Ghana. When motors in your electrical equipment are turned on, they demand from the power company s transformer power. This demand of power from your motor goes through the wires on your property, the electric panel, the power meter gauge, up to the transformer and back down through the wiring in your company again to your motor. Throughout this process, the electrical wiring in your company heats up and strains the motor and wiring. Due to a lot of variables in our electrical systems here in Ghana, motors in systems such as such as Central Air Conditioner, Heat Pump or Pool Pump might not be as efficient as they are expected to be. When they run, there is lost energy that users are actually billed for by the Power Company. The Silicones-introduced Electric Saver recycles (otherwise lost energy/watts) and releases it back to the motors when needed. This recycling process reduces the amount of heat within the entire electrical system. Since it is the wasted electrical energy that is converted to heat energy, reduction in this heat will lower your electricity bills and lengthen the life of the motors within your organization. Inductive Motors are in your Central Air Conditioner, Pool Pumps, Heat Pumps, Refrigerator, Freezer, Washer, Dryer, Ceiling Fans, T-12 Fluorescent Lighting Ballast, etc. Things with copper windings that create electromagnetic fields are inductive loads, like an inverter that turns Direct Current into Alternative Current. The Silicones-introduced Electric Saver also shields your company against power surges. By reducing demand from the Power Company, a lot of money can be saved from electricity bills. Most Power Companies & Large industrial complexes in foreign countries use this same technology to save on their energy costs. The Silicones-introduced Electric Saver operates on the same technology. It reuses the otherwise wasted energy and recycles it back to your motors so you have less demand/usage from your power company. 6

Transformer The Transformer (pictured below) is an inductive load of the Power Company just like the motors in your Electrical Equipment (A/C, Refrigerators, etc.). 7

High Voltage Pole Mount Capacitor: These are the capacitors the Power Company uses (pictured below) to correct power factor. When the power factor is corrected, the demand is reduced. The electric meter on your premises that your Power Company reads is a demand meter. With the Silicones-introduced Electric Saver, you can reduce demand and legally slow down your meter simply by making the motors in your set up more efficient. Electricity companies all over the world use this technology for years to correct their power factors. Why would ECG spend tens of thousands of Ghana cedis adding capacitor banks to their grids if this technology doesn t work? BECAUSE THIS TECHNOLOGY DOES WORK! If you look in your neighborhood at the power poles, for approximate every 50 transformers, you will notice capacitor banks like the one pictured above correcting the power factor of the transformers in your neighborhood. 8

EXCLUSIVE BENEFITS TO YOUR COMPANY We at Silicones, always put the client first in all our transactions. We believe strongly that after installing this system, you would get the under listed desired results. Between 15% - 30% discount on all your electrical bills The system will prevent your machine from heating up thereby preventing sparks and fire outbreak The motors within your equipment will function more effectively and last longer The equipment will eliminate all waste energy which you are charged for month after month It is environmentally friendly It utilizes your overall energy consumption and improves your electrical system power quality, etc. It eliminates any power factor that might exist with your electrical set up. 9

OVER ALL BENEFITS There are numerous benefits to be gained through power factor correction and installation of our system. These benefits range from reduced demand charges on your power system to increased load carrying capabilities in your existing circuits and overall reduced power system loses. And the benefits of power factor correction aren t just limited to the balance sheet; there are also huge environmental benefits associated with power factor correction, which means your company is reducing it s carbon footprint and helping the environment. 1. Reduced Demand Charges Most electric utility companies charge for maximum metered demand based on either the highest registered demand in kilowatts (KW meter), or a percentage of the highest registered demand in KVA (KVA meter), whichever is greater. If the power factor is low, the percentage of the measured KVA will be significantly greater than the KW demand. Improving the power factor through power factor correction will therefore lower the demand charge, helping to reduce your electricity bill.2. Increased Load Carrying Capabilities In Existing Circuits 2. Increased Load Carrying Capabilities In Existing Circuits Loads drawing reactive power also demand reactive current. Installing power factor correction capacitors at the end of existing circuits near the inductive loads reduces the current carried by each circuit. The reduction in current flow resulting from improved power factor may allow the circuit to carry new loads, saving the cost of upgrading the distribution network when extra capacity is required for additional machinery or equipment, saving your company thousands of dollars in unnecessary upgrade costs. In addition, the reduced current flow reduces resistive losses in the circuit. 3. Improved Voltage A lower power factor causes a higher current flow for a given load. As the line current increases, the voltage drop in the conductor increases, which may result in a lower voltage at the equipment. With an improved power factor, the voltage drop in the conductor is reduced, improving the voltage at the equipment. 4. Reduced Power System Losses Although the financial return from conductor loss reduction alone is seldom sufficient to justify the installation of capacitors, it is sometimes an attractive additional benefit; especially in older plants with long feeders or in field pumping operations. System conductor losses are proportional to the current squared and, since the current is reduced in direct proportion to the power factor improvement, the losses are inversely proportional to the square of the power factor. 10

5. Reduced Carbon Footprint By reducing your power system s demand charge through power factor correction, your company is putting less strain on the electricity grid, therefore reducing its carbon footprint. Over time, this lowered demand on the electricity grid can account for hundreds of tons of reduced carbon production, all thanks to the improvement of your power system s electrical efficiency via power factor correction. Saving money isn t the only benefit of power factor correction. 11

COST COMPONENT All clients shall make full payment on the second month of using the product. There is no fixed price for each device. The price of a device shall be dependent on the result of the power analyses audit, (it is through this audit that we would know the required device which will give your company the best result in energy conservation) To have a fair idea the price our device (silicones power saver) ranges between 10,000-95,000. Each premise would need a different kvar and depending on which kvar we use and how many we use at a premise to give the client best results in energy conservation, client shall make corresponding payment. We guarantee that each installation shall give a client a return on investment within 12-24 months. The device has a life span of 10-20 years.the silicones energy saver comes with a 12 months warranty. We will however need to indicate here that the installation of this system is by no means supposed to prevent you from paying for electricity which you have genuinely used. Therefore any increment by PURC or ECG will affect your organization but not as much as it would have, without the installation of the system. We do Free One Month Installation, for you to see the actual benefit before making any decision. 12
