Seating EBLO Update 2015 number 3 2015 number 3 eblo update ISRI SUCCESS AT THE RAI COMMERCIAL VEHICLE SHOW EBLO Seating attended the Road Transport show in Amsterdam from 20-25th October at the RAI Exhibition Centre. It was the first time that we have attended as the Official distributor for the BENELUX and UK for the ISRI brand of seats for trucks and buses and we were most pleased with the response and feedback said Evert Mallie CEO of EBLO Seating. it was particularly important for us to show users how to properly operate the sophisticated seat adjustments and maximize their sitting comfort. Our goal was to also make it clear to transport companies in the Benelux that we are not only supplying complete seats but responsible for servicing and supplying replacement parts he added. In addition to the advanced range of seats for On- Highway vehicles, specific models are available for construction equipment, cranes, forklifts and vessels as is a selection of office chairs to complete the ISRI line up. ISRI is the leading brand in the marketplace and characterized by their reliability, durability and quality. FOREWORD BY EVERT MALLIE, CEO EBLO SEATING In this latest UPDATE number 3, we are focusing on safety and ergonomic matters, and giving you feedback from recent shows. At the AutoRAI show in Amsterdam we generated a lot of interest in the ISRI programme. From our side as the newly appointed official ISRI distributor we wanted to convey the message to drivers about the importance of correctly adjusting and maintaining their seats.the latest ISRI truck and bus seats are really sophisticated and users need to understand how to operate the multiple adjustments on their seats to get the most ergonomic position and maximize their comfort. On the service side users often leave it too late to maintain their seats and we displayed key parts and cushions that they can get to renovate their seats. REAL DUTCH CRAFTSMANSHIP A new service from EBLO is our upholstery and re-upholstery service that conforms to FOCWA standards. We can renovate seats, chairs, benches, furniture, sofas and medical furniture. We rebuild foams and frames as well as being able to retrim in a variety of leathers, fabrics (including anti-static materials) and PVC. EBLO FIT 3 POINT BELT TO KOMATSU DOZER SEAT Our customer Van der Vlist based in Moerdijk, Holland wanted to increase operator safety in a Komatsu Dozer at a difficult work site. Their request was to modify the existing Komatsu seat by fitting a high visibility 3 point belt. So that in the event of an impact the operator would be retained in his seat within the cabin. The orange belt can be seen by site supervisors and also includes a safety switch so that the vehicle cannot move until the driver is strapped in. This conversion was made by the EBLO Technical team and reinstalled on site as part of the service. ESCAPE BELT Recently EBLO Seating has added an Escape belt device to our range. The Escape belt is an innovative and thoroughly tested product. In the event that a passenger car or commercial vehicle falls into deep water the Escape device has a plunger to immediately release the occupant s seat belt. The device is ideal for vehicles frequently being driven in areas with canals, lakes, sea fronts, docks and rivers. It avoids the occupant being trapped by their seat belt underwater. ANOTHER BLOCKBUSTER EVENT AT THE IRISH PLOUGHING MATCH HELD IN STRADBALLY The 84th annual Irish Ploughing Championship held for the second year running in Ratheniska near Stradbally, Eire again lived up to its billing as the biggest outdoor trade event in Europe. Close to 281,000 people attended and over 1500 companies exhibited at the three day show in the rural location 80km to the west of Dublin. John had display boards showing off the spares and accessories he can offer such armrests, air bags, shock absorbers, seat belts, cushions, compressors etc. and this helped farmers to realise how to how their seats could be renovated. Equally the display of suspensions gave the option of replacing worn out units. United Seats were displayed to their full extent by John Newman and his company Seat Systems Ltd. John had particularly worked hard in the run up to the show getting his stand advertised to his customer base and it paid off in full, even before the show opened officially on the Tuesday morning John had already secured his first order of the day and from the moment the flaps opened up on his marquee streams of farmers flooded the stand to try the seats out. The team working the stand included John s dad, mum, sister, uncle and best friend and myself David Hale as we handled famers from all over Ireland and the good weather ensured a great turnout. In the fields around the show ground the serious ploughing events drew crowds to see the Plough masters at work. replacement seat for medium and large tractors, but the new high comfort C2 PRO upper won lots of admirers with the soft and adjustable seat cushion. For Excavators the CS85 C7 PRO high Back seat was of interest to Kobelco and Doosan operators. Other seats offered covered all vehicles such as forklifts, road rollers, trucks, marine and construction equipment. John is based in Limerick city in the mid-west of Ireland and has been representing the United Seats brand since setting up his own business 18 months ago after previous experience with other vehicle seating producers. It was pleasing to see how his hard work is starting to pay off, and more to the point John is enjoying his work and getting a big customer following in the Irish seating business. Views from the show can be seen in the photos attached. Next year the Ploughing the 85th championships move to Screggan near Tullamore in County Offaly, and this too is set to break records. C7 PRO PVC This seat is ideal for tractors, marine craft and construction vehicles where a waterproof seat is required due to the vehicle being open to the elements. The C7 PRO boasts ergonomically shaped cushions, an adjustable backrest and good support in the lumbar area. The seat cushion is adjustable for length and tilt to enhance seating comfort for different operators. The seat can take adjustable tip up armrests and either an ALR or ELR type 2 point seat belt or for extra safety can be fitted with a 3 point seat belt in accordance with ISO 6683. The unit has an occupant weight range of 50-130kgs and has a fore and aft slide rail travel of 180mm. This low profile suspension is ideal for forklift trucks, compact construction and agricultural machines.
