French Nuclear Context A standardized fleet of 58 nuclear power plants One single nuclear operator: Electricité de France (EDF) A unique industrial supply chain, with main actors such as Areva and Alstom/GE and an important SME-ETI network. A strong implication in the construction of the EPR program worldwide Electricité de France integrates the functions of owner, designer, architect engineer and operator. After Daya Bay and Lingao, EDF is today committed to building 2 EPRs in Taishan. In a near future, EDF will continue its cooperation with China with the EPRs projects in the UK.
France China Electricity Partnership France China Electricity Partnership (PFCE), is an association of EDF qualified suppliers and dedicated to the promotion of partnership between French and Chinese Nuclear industries. Created in 1997 by EDF, the association regroups today 100 PMEs and ETIs, all qualified suppliers of EDF which provide equipments and services for NPPs all around the world. The French know-how is held by these companies, which skills complete those of large companies like EDF.
PFCE Members Activites Scope Through their involvement in the construction and operation of the French nuclear fleet, the members of PFCE have acquired an unequalled knowledge in domains such as equipment certification and international codes and standards. These companies today wish to share this experience. PFCE members activities cover the full scope of nuclear power plant construction domains, from engineering to dismantling and waste, and all sectors: Engineering/ Design Manufacturing / Equipment Construction/ Commis-sioning Operation/ Maintenance Decommissioning/ Waste treatment PFCE members cover all type of activities all along the reactor s life cycle: Pumps, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration Piping, valves, servomotors, metallic and mechanic construction Seals, integrity systems, isolation, insulation Cranes, rotating structures, handling Electrical distribution, specific cables, instrumentation and control, process relays Fire detection and protection, radioprotection and robotic arms Measurement and analysis Maintenance and spare parts Civil work, prestressed structures, structures monitoring Intellectual services, engineering services, test laboratories
PFCE Members in China 65% of PFCE members are present in China, in at least one of these forms: WOFE, Joint Venture, Bureau of representation, Agents. Because of its history of Sino-French partnership in the nuclear area (first Daya bay, now Taishan), the Guangdong province is the location in terms of PFCE members implanted (16 members). Then comes the Shanghai area (14), and Beijing (10). < 5 5 to 10 > 10 Number of members implanted by province
PFCE Objectives PFCE aims at: Promoting the durable implication of French small and medium companies in the realization of the Chinese nuclear program through: - Contruction of new power plants - Maintenance and upgrading of plants under operation Sharing with the Chinese nuclear industry our experience feedbacks from the French program Working with Chinese companies in international nuclear projects Helping PFCE members localization in China Helping partnership and cooperation in various forms between French and Chinese companies Accompanying the standardization of development of EPR in China NPP and the Valinox Production Unit in Nansha, Guangdong
