SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS SAFETY OPERATNG INSTRUCTIONS Any blast cabinet will produce a powerful flow of abrasive particles. To avoid personal injury and property damage, study this manual thoroughly before assembling, operating or servicing this blast cabinet. During operation, do not expose the hands or skin directly in the line of the blast nozzle. Ensure all components seal properly after assembly. Do not exceed the maximum operating pressure of the blasting equipment Disconnect the cabinet from the air supply before changing accessories or attempting to install, service, relocate or perform any maintenance. Check hoses and air lines for weak or worn condition before each use. Make sure all the connections are secure before use. Do not point the abrasive blaster gun at anyone or objects. Before installing the machine, consider the availability and proximity of the required power supply circuit. If an existing circuit does not meet the requirements for this machine, a new circuit must be installed. To minimize the risk of electrocution, fire, or equipment damage, installation work and electrical wiring must be carried out by an electrician or qualified service personnel in accordance with all applicable codes and standards. Dust can be created when you sweep, blast, cut, drill or grind materials such as wood, paint, metal, concrete, cement, or other particles. This dust often contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Always wear personal protective gear. Fire or Explosion Hazard! DO NOT USE a media blaster around combustible or flammable liquids, dusts, gases, oily rags, or other materials that can explode or burn quickly. Some abrasives create sparks when they hit metal. Abrasives similar to aluminium oxide may generate static electricity sparks which may cause fires or explosions in an unsafe environment. Static electricity shocks can be painful. Always wear leather or rubber soled shoes or boots and stand on the ground to avoid static electricity. A grounded wire attached to the media blast gun will also safely minimise the static electricity. Made in China to TQB Brands Pty Ltd specifications Page 3

ASSEMBLY, OPERATION & PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE 1. FEATURES The Borum Industrial Sandblasting Cabinet perfectly combines the traditional sandblasting cabinet with an abrasive blaster tank. The abrasive blaster tank achieves a higher sanding pressure, dramatically increasing the cabinet style sandblaster working capacity. Ideally suited for larger working spaces and suitable for a wide range of work pieces. The foot pedal valve controller gives greater flexibility of operation for the operator. 2. 4. BEFORE USE Prior to first use conduct a thorough visual inspection checking for abnormal conditions, such as cracked welds, leaks, and damaged, loose, or missing parts. Start Up Preparations: Compressed air supply should be dry, clean and free from oil and other contaminants. (i.e. use air dryer, particle filter, or moisture separator as needed.) Inspect fittings and hoses for damage and water. Check the seal on all doors. Check the sealing of all valves and fittings and reseal with thread sealing tape where necessary to ensure equipment is safe and reliable. All abrasive media should be pre-filtered to prevent used dust particles blocking valves. The maximum abrasive media load value is 12 litres. Caution: Watch for silicosis (dust created when using silica media as a blast media) or toxic dust hazard. Do not use media containing free silica. Keep blast nozzle controlled and aimed at the work, not at the sand blasting cabinet internal walls or gloves. 5. OPERATION Prior to each use conduct a thorough visual inspection checking for abnormal conditions, such as cracked welds, leaks, and damaged, loose, or missing parts. Connect air and power supply, open cabinet door and load abrasive media. Place work piece inside cabinet, lock the door, turn on light and dust extraction unit then open intake valve, adjust working air pressure to between 90-115psi. Step on foot pedal to start. Adjust abrasive media flow valve counter-clockwise to increase the flow of media and clockwise to decrease the flow as desired. If abrasive media stops flowing, lift and depress foot pedal to let media drop back into the pressure tank for recycling. Do not add too much abrasive media as it may cause blockages. If mushroom head occurs at sand entrance, use a small iron bar to knock mushroom head down. When the job is complete, empty and clean out all abrasive in order to prevent blockages for next operation. Discharge condensation from the water separator 1-2 times per day. After 10-12 hours of blasting time, the nozzle should be checked. If it shows uneven wear it should be turned 1/4 turn every 10 hours of use. Made in China to TQB Brands Pty Ltd specifications Page 12

Media caking can be experienced when moisture is in the air supply or by oily and greasy parts. If this is not rectified the abrasive media will not flow evenly and will clog up in the metering valve and blast gun. Check air supply. If water is present, install a good moisture trap. If oily or greasy parts are being blasted, you should degrease and dry these parts before blasting. To remove wet or waste abrasive media particles, place abrasive hose into a woven (recycle) bag, then turn on air inlet valve, adjust pressure regulating valve to 1-2kg and by depressing the foot pedal, make the wet or waste abrasive flow into the recycle bag. Either screen and reuse, or dispose of the waste abrasive media responsibly. 6. STORAGE This Sandblasting Cabinet should always be stored in a dry indoor location on a level surface. Made in China to TQB Brands Pty Ltd specifications Page 13

7. MAINTENANCE 240V power and compressed air supplies must be disconnected prior to any maintenance. If media occasionally stops flowing, place thumb over nozzle (hold tight) and push foot pedal down for a couple of seconds this will cause the stem to back blast through the gun and up the media hose. This will help loosen any clogs. Do a periodical inspection of the mushroom head sealing ring. Check for possible damage, aging, deformation, seal leaking that may affect the sand blasting pressure and result in air waste. If the gun air pressure drops, set the air pressure to 80psi on the air gauge at the regulator. Push the foot pedal while holding gun and see if the gauge pressure drops significantly. If the pressure drops, this indicates that there is a restriction in the supply line. This could indicate that the hose is restricted, a blocked quick coupler, a plugged filter, or other piping not allowing enough air through. A pressure drop can also occur if the cabinet is too far away from the air compressor. Air supply lines should also be a minimum 13mm ID. For poor visibility/excessive dust: Ensure the air inlet at front left above regulator is free to allow air into the cabinet. Empty the dust container when it is full via the latch at the bottom of the dust extractor, or remove the black cover on the vacuum unit. Remember to clean or replace filter in the dust extractor regularly. Eventually the media particles will also become so small that it is essentially dust. So replace media and clean the dust extractor regularly. Viewing windows come with a clear plastic protector on the inside of the viewing screen. As these become pitted they can be easily replaced to extend the life of the window. The window can also be easily replaced. For poor media flow: Check for moisture as indicated above. Install moisture trap as needed, replace damp media and clean hoses. Holes in media hose will cause poor media delivery. Replace hose. Replace or screen media. TROUBLESHOOTING Intermittent, clogging, or no media spray at the blast gun Mushroom head air-leaking Mushroom head cannot move up and down No more media in the pressure tank. Suction tube has been clogged by a contaminant. Too much or too little media Rubber seal or mushroom head abrasion too much Loaded too much media 1. Release foot pedal to let media flow back from funnel to pressure tank. 1. Close air source, open the nozzle of the blast gun check and remove contaminant. Also check the intake- tube at the bottom of the pressure tank. 2. Make sure that the media is not worn-out, saturated with debris, or contaminated with moisture causing it to cake inside of the lines. Screen or replace media as required. 1. Adjust via the valve under the pressure tank. If too much media, rotate clockwise; too little rotate anti clockwise. 2. Check for worn abrasive nozzle - turn or replace with new nozzle. 1. Open maintenance cover to change rubber seal or mushroom head inside. 1. Remove some of abrasive from the tank. 2. Use a small iron bar to knock mushroom head down.
