Elevance Product Name Chair Conversion Kit (to Console Delivery Installation Unit) Installation [Kit #002-1965-xx] Attention: Use this kit to convert an Elevance Chair to a Chair with an Elevance Console mounted Delivery Unit. Applies to Models: 153810 Special Tools: none Language of origin: English Step 1: Install Anchor Bolt. A) Reference the installation sheet in the Anchor Bolt Installation Kit, 002-1431-0x, included with this kit. Note: Do not replace base cover after installing anchor bolt. You will need to access this area again. Seat Upholstery Back Upholstery Pivot Cover Step 2: Position the Chair. A) Tap the Pivot Cover three times to raise the chair. (Chair beeps until it reaches the home position). B) Unplug chair from power source. Step 3: Remove Lift Arm and Pivot Covers: A) Remove Upper and Lower Lift Arm Covers B) Remove Upper Pivot Cover (loosen two screws). C) Remove Lower Pivot Cover (pull cover over mount screws). Step 4: Remove Covers: A) Remove Left and Right Seat Shrouds (three screws each). B) Remove Left and Right Frame Covers (two screws each). C) Remove Frame Top Cover (two screws). warning Use caution when operating equipment with covers removed. Step 5: Re-position Chair to access Rotation Stop holes. A) Plug chair into power source. B) Lower Back to Full Down position. C) Unplug chair from power source. Step 6: Unhook springs and remove carriage axles. A) Rotate the Toe Lift Rail towards the back of the chair. B) Unhook both Springs (from foot end of chair). C) Remove Carriage Clamp Bolt, Carriage Clamp and Thrust Washer.. D) Remove two Back Axles, pulling them out from each side of chair. E) Remove Cylinder Carriage Axle, pulling it out from left side of chair. F) Rotate back (not shown) as necessary for you to access the rotation stop holes in the chair casting. G) Install two Rotation Stop bolts into the Chair casting. H) Repeat steps 6D) and 6E) in reverse to install the Axles. Alternate Step 6: for Earlier Chair Models Reference illustration on previous page. A) Rotate the Toe Lift Rail towards the back of the chair. B) Unhook both Springs (from foot end of chair). C) Remove Carriage Clamp Bolt, Carriage Clamp and Thrust Washer.. D) Remove two Back Axles, pulling them out from each side of chair. warning Use caution when operating equipment with covers removed. Step 7: Re-position Chair Before Continuing. A) Plug chair into power source. B) Position the back to provide easiest access to the pivot hole. C) Unplug chair from power source. D) Remove Strap Clamp (two screws) and position guide band out of the way. E) Remove Umbilical Cover Bracket. F) Remove Rotation Hub Bracket. A) Reference the Installation Instructions included with the Console Mounting Arm. 6
Step 9: Provide access for umbilical through chair. A) Loosen six Lift Arm Skin bolts enough to maneuver the Umbilical under it. B) Remove Umbilical Wire Bail. Note Do not install fasteners or mounting plates along the umbilical until it is completely routed through the chair and mounting arm. You may need to make adjustments as you go through the install. Lift Arm Skin Bolts Step 10: Route umbilical through chair. A) Begin routing Umbilical from the front of chair B) Align the Tape with the front of the indentation in the chair casting. C) Route the Umbilical through the chair casting as shown below. Note: Illustration shows Chair Casting with Skin and Seat missing for clarity. Wire Bail Chair Casting Casting Indentation Tape Step 11: Continue Routing Umbilical through Seat Casting. A) Route Umbilical up through the Pivot Hole into seat casting. B) Route Umbilical along the RIGHT SIDE and into the hole in the foot end. C) Route the Vacuum and Drain through the middle of the chair casting and into the hole in the foot end. 7
Step 12: Route Umbilical through the Console Mounting Arm. A) Route umbilical through the Console Mounting Arm as shown. B) Route the Vacuum and Drain lines through the Console Mounting Arm as shown. Umbilical Step 13: Make connections at the back of the chair A) Connect two LIN lines into the LIN Coupler. Adhere the coupler s adhesive back to the chair frame pocket as shown. B) Connect ground wire to the chair frame. Vacuum & Drain LIN Coupler Ground 8
Step 14: Hook springs back up. A) At the foot end of the chair, hook the springs onto the Trunnion Casting. Trunnion Casting Springs Snap Bushing Step 15: Install Delivery Unit Foot Control. A) Install Snap Bushing in the Light Bracket on the back of the chair. B) Route the Foot Control umbilical through the base exiting it out through the front of the chair, to the left side of the umbilical indentation in front. Equipment Alert Connections to the PC Board and Power vary slightly when using this kit, see Step 16. 9
Umbilical Plate Connect Ground Step 16: Make Special 002-1965-00 Kit Connections. A) Remove metal PCB Cover to access the Chair PCB. B) Remove the black tube-sleeve from the umbilical Power line grouping. C) Install the Blue and Brown Power wires into the Amp Connector. D) Plug the Amp Connector into J3 on the Chair PCB. E) Connect ground to the hole in the chair frame. F) Plug Green and Brown wire connector into J4 on the Chair PCB. G) Plug Red/ White/ Black wire connector into J5 on the Chair PCB. Note: Secure wiring to Lift Arm skin with zip ties. Metal PCB Cover Chair PCB Power Amp Connector Step 17: Secure Umbilical and Reinstall all Covers. A) Install Umbilical Plate (2 screws). B) Install Wire Bail and tighten bolts on Lift Arm Skin (See page 7). C) Connect Chair to Power source. D) Verify operation of the equipment.
