Repair Procedure Overview. Confirm the whine noise concern from the ATM. 2. Determine if the VIN is BEFORE or AFTER the Production Change. 3. Perform the applicable Repair Procedure(s). It may be necessary to perform A & B to fully resolve the customer concern. Repair Procedure A (BEFORE Production Change) Replace two engine mounts and LH drive shaft damper. Repair Procedure B (AFTER Production Change) Replace the automatic transaxle assembly. 4. Confirm the repair. Repair Procedure. Test drive the vehicle while at operating temperature and listen for a whine noise from the Drivetrain. Is there a whine type noise coming from the transaxle area between 20 65 mph? YES Proceed to step 2. NO This bulletin does NOT apply. Refer to the Repair Manual for additional diagnosis. 2. Confirm the fluid level is at the correct level. If adjustment was necessary, test drive again to see if the noise has improved. If no improvement, determine if the VIN is before or after the production change.
