INTENDED USE The 4x4 TOUGH Tyre Pressure monitoring system is designed for passenger vehicles to provide real time tyre pressure and temperature monitoring whilst stationery (providing your ACC power is turned on and whilst driving your vehicle. With wireless transmitting this system is suitable for most passenger cars, SUV and 4WD's. The TPMS display unit is already paired to the included sensors. The data will automatically display once you have installed the sensors display unit and your ACC power has been turned on. It also has a handy USB port for charging your mobile devices. The TPMS does not replace the need for regular tyre maintenance and checking tread wear. This product is intended for private vehicle use and not for commercial, trade or industrial use. 4

PRODUCT REVIEW Tyre pressure - tyre temperature display Pneumatic display Central warning light USB jack Temperature display Set key 6

External Sensor Installation Step 1. Unscrew the existing tyre valve caps anticlockwise and place in the supplied carry bag for safe keeping. Step 2. Attach the hexagonal nut to the thread of the valve stem and screw clockwise to approximately half way down the valve stem. 7

Step 3. Attach the sensor to the designated valve stem clockwise and screw down until it is sitting up against the hex nut. Step 4. Install the display monitor as shown below, into the 12V DC port in your vehicle. This port is also known as a cigarette lighter socket in some older vehicles. 1 Remove the cigarette lighter 2 Insert the tyre pressure monitor 3 Turn on ACC power 4 The monitor is energized and starts receiving data 8

The TPMS employs a Bluetooth operating system. Each sensor has been paired to the display monitor prior to shipment. Confirm that the pairing has remained intact by observing a reading from each individual sensor Note: The sensor has a memory, and the initial reading will reflect the pressure reading last recorded in the factory during Quality Control checking. Within 3 minutes the correct pressure readings for the current vehicle will appear in the display]. You can adjust the angle of the display monitor if required by pressing the two spring loaded buttons (Fig 1) and releasing the spring loaded buttons when the desired setting is achieved. Spring loaded buttons Fig. 1 Step 5. When satisfied that each sensor is displaying correctly, apply soapy water to the valve stem/sensor and check for bubbles. If bubbles appear this would indicate on air leak. Remove the sensor, check for soil in the valve stem thread, re attach the sensor and proceed to check again as described above. Should the leak persist, a new valve stem may need to be fitted by a tyre shop. 9

Step 6. Use the supplied spanner to tighten the hexagonal nuts on each sensor anticlockwise until they sit tight against the sensor. This process locks the sensor firmly on the valve stem providing security to the sensor attachment. 10 Ensure that the sensors are fitted as per their markings to the correct tyre. TPMS FUNCTIONS 1. Switch between Tyre pressure and Tyre temperature Tyre pressure Tyre temperature Tyre temperature Press the set key once. This will change the display from tyre pressure to tyre temperature. When the temperature is below 0 degrees Celsius, the tyre pressure corresponding to the tyre location shows the number 10 degrees Celsius, as shown above. 2. Switch between PSI unit reading to BAR unit reading PSI Unit BAR Unit Press the set key three times, this will allow you to change to display from PSI to BAR reading. 11

3. Tyre high / low pressure alarm High pressure alarm Low pressure alarm When the tyre pressure is higher than 3.2 Bar (46 PSI) or below 1.8 Bar (26PSI), the central warning light and corresponding tyre display flashes, accompanied by an alarm sound. Press the set key once to cancel the alarm sound. This function tells you that the tyre needs immediate attention. If the display is in the temperature display interface, the alarm information will force the unit to change to the tyre pressure display interface. 4. Tyre high temperature alarm When the tyre temperature is higher than 70 degrees Celsius, the central warning light and corresponding tyre display flashes, accompanied by an alarm sound. Press the set key once to cancel the alarm sound. This function tells you that the tyre needs immediate attention. If the display is in the pressure display interface, the alarm information will force the unit to change to the tyre temperature display interface. 12

5. Sensor low alarm When the tyre sensor fails, it will show the corresponding tyre failure, and the central warning light will flash. Check that the tyre sensor is correctly securely to the tyre. If so, the battery may need replacing, see instruction to replace battery on page 15 of this manual. 6. Sensor pairing information The TPMS is a Bluetooth system. In the event the original pairing system has been disturbed you will have to re-pair the display monitor to the sensors. Press the set key five times continuously until the display shows the pairing interface. Once this appears, press the set key once. The front left (FR) wheel sensor will appear, flashing, enter the target/ideal tyre pressure. The unit will then automatically display the front right (FR) wheel sensor, flashing, enter the target/ideal tyre pressure. The unit will then automatically display the rear right (RR) wheel sensor, flashing, enter the target/ideal tyre pressure. The unit will then automatically display the rear left (RL) wheel sensor, flashing, enter the target/ideal tyre pressure. The display will then automatically exit from the pairing. 13

7. Tyre Rotation After tyres have been rotated, ensure that you reposition the tyre sensors to the corresponding tyre so the display unit provides you with an accurate reading. BATTERY INFORMATION The 4X4 TPMS sensors are battery operated. Wipe the battery with dry cloth to ensure a good contact. Batteries may explode if shorted or mistreated. Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries. Do not attempt to disassemble batteries. Never dispose of batteries in fire. Dispose of used batteries immediately. WARNING!
