Hypertherm - Customer testimonial Powermax1650 Delivers Continuous Improvement and Productivity Gains Metal Services Incorporated, a sister company of Smithco Engineering Inc, in Tulsa Oklahoma, and Amercool Manufacturing, Inc. in Whitehouse, Texas, recently purchased 2 Powermax1650s for their cutting tables. Metal Services does the steel fabrication work for Smithco Engineering and Amercool. Since Smithcos' founding in 1952, Smithco has been known as a premier manufacturer and full service provider of air-cooled heat exchangers to the refining, gas processing, gas transmission, petrochemical, utilities and other heavy industries. Amercool is a 15 year old company that supplies air-cooled heat exchangers to the power generation and gas compression markets. But in today s aggressive business climate, standing on reputation is not enough. Their technologies and procedures underscore their commitment to excellence, product quality, engineering, service, and customer satisfaction. Full-service engineering, fabrication, and inspection of air-cooled heat exchangers are Smithco s exclusive activities. The company replaced MAX100 power supplies on their cutting table with Powermax1650s and in the words of Metal Services management, The results have been amazing. Some of the key areas of improvement were a 12 percent increase in sheet metal assembly efficiency with no other changes to their process. This improvement has been attributed to parts that are more consistently dimensionally correct and cut complete and clean. With the Powermax1650s, part square has checked within 1/32 of an inch total on over 200 parts that have been measured. According to the management team The most compelling positive result from this retrofit has been a reduction in overtime by approximately 30 percent.
