How does the schedule work for drivers?
How are Drivers Scheduled? Drivers work 12 hour shifts, rotating days and nights. Drivers are paid extra for working nights and weekends. Planned schedules are 70 hours per week. DOT 24 hour reset. We operate 24/7 365 days a year. Our schedules consist of: 5 and 1: 5 days on, 1 day off for 4 weeks, then 7 days off. You are not required to take 7 days off however, days off will not accumulate. (On this schedule you will work 6 days in a 7 day period & time off can be extended with the use of PTO, if available) 5 and 2/ 5 and 3: 5 days on and 2 days off, 5 days on and 3 days off. This schedule rotates between 2 and 3 days off. (Opportunities exist for call in on days off- $100 call in pay applies when called in to work on scheduled days off) The objective for both schedules is to ensure drivers average 20-21 days worked per month (20-21 days average each month when reviewed over a 3-month period) We dual use our equipment so shifts typically start at 6:00 or 7:00 A.M. and 6:00 or 7:00 P.M.
