SCE s Demand Response Program Portfolio Today s portfolio includes over 1,600 MWs of dispatchable load: Emergency programs: Customers reduce load when triggered by a system emergency to contractually determined levels in exchange for an incentive, usually a bill discount on an annual basis Emergency Programs - 1400 MW Large Commercial Interruptible Residential/commercial air conditioning cycling Agricultural pumping interruptible Price response programs: Customers reduce load at critical times based on dynamic pricing of energy and/or capacity ( pay-forperformance ) Price Response Programs - 240 MW Critical Peak Pricing/RTP Rates Demand Bidding Capacity Bidding Aggregator Contracts 3

ZigBee Enabled In-Home Display Concepts 1 2 Customers can connect their PC to the ZigBee meter interface to receive near real time information Customers who have utility-registered inhome graphical display units can qualify for additional incentives if they reduce usage during critical peak events 3 Peak Rebate Available Energy Cost Display $.12 $.14 $.24 $.27 $.31 Customers can determine if there is a critical peak event scheduled or in progress. They can also see how much they are paying for electricity. 9
