Some exhibitors said the scale of the show was affected by the difficult economic situation in Korea, including the slumping domestic market and uncertainty about the future. Unfortunately, many of the exhibitors experienced slower than usual traffic. In addition to Conex Korea, two concurrent shows were held at KINTEX: 1. Truck & Bus Mega Fair (produced by Hyundai) 2. They are experiencing ever greater competition, especially from OEMs in China, and continue looking abroad to countries such as Indonesia to help maintain their growth. Their high level of exports has helped shield them from domestic economic issues. Soosan s ability to seek clients in numerous overseas markets will be a key to their continued growth. Kubota Korea Co., Ltd. Kubota was also out in force at this show. Kubota s focus in Korea is on small to medium-sized engines. The growing housing sector is a bright spot in the Korean economy and could provide good opportunities for Kubota.
