Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection Circle Check 1) Entrance Way: Free and clear of debris Handrails secure Service door is functional 2) Parking Brake: Applied 3) Safety Items contains: Fire Extinguisher and is Secured Pinned Charged Reflectors/Flares Scraper/Axe First Aid Kit OPERATOR S COMPARTMENT 4) Operator s Seat: Locks in position & in good shape Emergency exit & warning buzzer are operational from inside (& outside if applicable) 5) Mirrors: Check for proper adjustment and cleanliness 6) Horn/Steering Wheel: Horn is working & audible Adjust and lock steering wheel Start engine, master switch in the Run position 7) Dash Lights: Operational during engine start Turn master switch clockwise into the Night Run position to power all electrical equipment 8) Air Pressure Gauge: Gauges & Warning lights are functioning properly Pressure reading be above 80psi/audible warning (if pressure is low) 9) Accelerated pedal checked for binding and sticking 1

Turn blower on, then off 13) Interior Lighting (aisle & stairwell) Turn on, and check if operational 14) Wipers/Washer Fluid Turn on/spray washer/clean windshield/turn off wipers 15) Driver s Heat/Defroster Fan Turn blower on/off 16) Kneeling Feature Activate kneeling function, partial lowering is acceptable then raise bus 17) Ramp Activate ramp, deploy to 45 degrees, then stow 18) Radio Turn (or depress) radio volume controller/audible/l.e.d. light on. FLOOR 19) Turn Signals Test & look for indicator light on dash/scan mirrors for lights 20) Hi/Lo Beam Switch Turn on/off and look for indicator light on dash 21) Hazard Lights Turn on/leave ON For Air Brakes Single Unit: reapply spring parking brake & remove wheel blocks. Gently tug against spring brake & release spring parking brake. Move the vehicle ahead slowly. Make a service brake application to check brake response. 2
