SV SERIES OPERATOR FRIENDLY AND HIGHLY PRODUCTIVE Reliable, durable and easy to operate Case SV Series compaction equip - ment is reliable, durable and easy to operate. High centrifugal forces combined with optimized frequencies and dual amplitudes ensure maxi - mum productivity on projects such as highway construction, driveways, parking lots and landfills. Traction control provides maximum grade - ability for slope work. A heavy-duty articulation joint and balanced frame extend life and provide precision compaction performance. The high-traction, hydrostatic drive system has the rear wheels synchronized with the drum. This provides excellent gradeability. Because Case SV Series machines have a lower center of gravity, they can work across steeper slopes than other models in their class. The articulation joint oscillates as well as articulates for greater effective - ness when operating on uneven or difficult terrain. Case SV Series machines can be equipped with either a smooth or pad foot drum. Smooth drum rollers are designed for medium and large scale compaction of loose and semi-cohesive materials and rockfill. Padded drum rollers are designed for medium and large scale compaction of semicohesive and cohesive materials. COMFORTABLE OPERATOR ENVIRONMENT Makes long work days more productive The operator's station is designed to provide comfortable two-side access to the platform. Operator-friendly controls make long workdays more productive. The operator has excellent sight lines to the work area and good rear visibility for maneuvering between passes. The seat can be positioned straight ahead for working forward or turned 50 degrees to the right for reverse travel. The large canopy shields the operator from sun or rain. The suspension seat swivels, has fore and aft adjustments, a reclining seat back, adjustable arm rests and variable adjustments for operator height and weight. A single lever controls speed, direction and vibration on/off. A unique three-speed selector switch enables the operator to set a maximum operating speed for consistent and efficient compaction performance. Controls for amplitude, engine speed, and emergency shutdown are within easy reach. The muffler is located beneath the insulated engine hood and well behind the operator s platform. This keeps heat away from the operator and the noise level down. The operator is protected from vibration through a combination of the seat s suspension and shock-absorbing rubber isolators located between the operator s platform and the chassis. 3
POWERTRAIN AND SERVICE ACCESS Engines All SV Series machines are equipped with powerful, reliable engines. A 108-gallon fuel capacity provides 36 hours of operating time. Tank location in the machine s integral rear bumper enhances rear-wheel traction and contributes to the low center of gravity. In addition, it makes the fuel filler very accessible. Easy service access The engine cover lifts at the flip of a switch, providing easy, ground-level access to daily maintenance checks, including battery, fuel and air filters, oil fill, dip stick and the cooling system. All fluid levels can be checked from ground level. Pull-out steps on both rear corners of the machine provide access to the upper part of the engine compartment. The tilting operator s platform provides easy access to the major hydraulic components for quick servicing and greater uptime. Service access is outstanding with an easy-lift engine cover and operator s platform. 4
PRODUCTIVITY AND RELIABILITY Excellent visibility The sloping rear deck gives the operator excellent rear visibility further enhanced by the seat that swivels 50 degrees. The operator of the Case SV Series machines can see a three-foot tall object within three feet of the machine. Rear visibility is especially important in compaction equipment because nearly 50 percent of working time is spent operating in the reverse direction. One key design element that contributes to the sloping engine cover and the low center of gravity is the engine mounting position between the hydrostatic motors rather than above a conventional transaxle. The resulting lower center of gravity provides the SV Series machines greater stability while working across the face of a grade. Wider and lower The Case SV Series machines are wider and lower than most of the competition. The drum is wider as well, with a smaller diameter. This results in improved rim pull which contributes to the SV Series better gradeability. More compaction per pass The SV Series features two amplitude settings: low amplitude, high frequency for granular material; and high amplitude, low frequency for cohesive material. The result of these amplitude/frequency settings is the highest centrifugal force values in the size class more compaction per pass. The SV Series of single vibratory compaction equipment from Case provides high-productivity compaction performance in an operator-friendly package.
