38 Lubrication and Periodic Service 3. Radiator Check coolant level. A CAUTION: Do not remove the radiator filler.. cap unless the engine is cool. Then loosen the cap slowly to the stop. Release all pressure before removing the cap. 6405 Bulldozer (7 points) T3376J Correct Coolant Level Keep coolant halfway between radiator core and filler neck. Do not overfill. Tighten the cap. Clean trash from radiator and engine side shields. Check for trash between sand shield and radiator. Remove sand shield to clean trash. Check for leaks or loose connections. 4. Bulldozer Pivots Lubricate with two shots of John Deere Multi-Purpose Grease or an equivalent. 5. Engine Oil Check oil level. 6415 Bulldozer (6 points) 6410 Bulldozer (4 points) A-Dipstick B-Oil Filler Cap 1. Run engine until oil is warm. 2. Park crawler on level surface. 3. Stop engine. 4. Wait ten minutes. 5. Check oil level on dipstick (A). Oil should be between marks on dipstick. 6. If not, remove filler cap. 7. Add oil specified on page 31.
