Dismantle the footrest as well as the covering of the A-column. To be able to do so, the kicking plate has to be removed first, Fig. 1. Now remove the covering underneath the dashboard and the cover of the fuse holder. Loosen the screws of the fuse holder and pull them downwards, Fig. 2. Fig. 1 Fig. 2 Remove the bracket for the connector housings from the A-column below, Fig. 3. Connect the CAN cables with the black connector at the reverse side of the bracket, Fig. 4, as shown below. Fig. 3 Fig. 4 Connection assignment (Fig. 4) until Model Year `04 Convertible (8H) and Model Year `05 Sedan (8E) and Avant (8ED): CAN Low - Pin 6 (orange/brown) CAN High - Pin 5 (orange/black) Isolate the connections afterwards 6

Connection assignment (Fig. 4) until Model Year `05 Convertible (8H) and Model Year `06 Sedan (8E) and Avant (8ED): CAN Low - Pin 1 (orange/brown) CAN High - Pin 14 (orange/black) Isolate the connections afterwards Connection assignment at the speedometer (alternative connection w/o illustrations) all Models (8H, 8E, 8ED), all Model Years at the green connector (32 pin): CAN Low - Pin 12 (orange/brown) CAN High - Pin 13 (orange/black) Isolate the connections afterwards Now connect the cable for ground. A suitable ground point is located next to the A-column on the left, Fig. 5. Connect the cable for power supply to a free slot of the fuse box with ignition positive, Fig. 6. Secure the line with a 5A fuse. Pls. Check this connection by measuring the voltage! Fig. 5 Fig. 6 7

Mount both control units above the BCU, using suitable fixing material. The BCU is located underneath the dashboard at driver s side, Fig. 7. Fig. 7 Remove left front the wheelhouse cover, Fig. 8. Now lay the wiring from inside the car through the cable outlet of the A-column to the outside, into the left front wheelhouse, Fig. 9. Fig. 8 Fig. 9 8

Now lay the wiring from the cable outlet (inside wheelhouse, Fig. 10) to the under floor covering below, Fig. 11. Fig. 10 Fig. 11 The laying to the external sound generator can be found in Fig. 12 and 13. Fix the wiring with cable ties, at the gear box support, Fig. 13. Fig. 12 Fig. 13 9

Take an angle grinder and cut the exhaust pipe at the marked (arrow) position, Fig. 14. Place the external sound generator, adjust the position and fix it by tighten the screws of the clamp, Fig. 15 and connect the generator with the associated cable, Fig. 15. Fig. 14 Fig. 15 As an additional safeguard the included steel cable and associated clip must be attached to the sound generator and at a suitable location on the vehicle. This is an additional security, in case of losing the fixing screw by vibrations. For attaching the sound generator use suitable screws which can withstand a high load. To avoid losing the screws by vibrations, secure the screws with suitable workshop material. Check periodically the stability of the noise generator and tighten the screws if necessary. In the case of a non-compliance, we assume no liability for any damages. Finally mount the push button for the sound profile selection, for example at the covering below the dashboard on the driverside, Fig. 16. ATTENTION: For drilling you need a 7mm drill! Abb. 16 10

The re-assembly takes place appropriately in a backward sequence. Finally ensure a Can-bus-silence for a minimum of 10 minutes (vehicle locked). After that, the installation is successfully completed. You can choose 6 profiles by using the supplied button - in level 1-3 you will hear a decent sound, in level 4-6 a powerful V6/V8 sound. 11
