Diminished Value Inspection Guidelines 1. You must have the estimate t of repairs before inspecting a repaired vehicle for Diminished Value. If you don t call the office or me before inspection. If we don t have a copy you must obtain one from the owner or shop and upload it to the file. You must have the estimate at time of inspection to compare it with the actual repairs.
Diminished Value Inspection Guidelines cont. 2. If you find out the vehicle has not been repaired or if it is in the middle of the repairs call me before inspection. Because we may not need to inspect the vehicle. Or we may need to wait until the repairs are complete.
Diminished Value Inspection Guidelines cont. 3. Photos must be taken as listed below. 4 corners, VIN, Mileage, Interior, One of the registration/tag ti receipt, Old damage if any, Close ups of repairs and any photos that will help me document your report. They must be clear. Check each photo at the site.
Diminished Value Inspection Guidelines cont. 4. Fill out my 1-page DV inspection report form. This form asks you to identify the vehicle by VIN, Current Mileage and options. Be accurate because I must complete an ACV and need correct information. i DO NOT RELY on the original estimate because it may have mistakes. SAVE IT IN WORD ONLY AND UPLOAD IT IN WORD TO OUR ATS FOLDER.
Diminished Value Inspection Guidelines cont. 5. Old damage, Prior repairs and improper repairs Write me an old damage estimate (windshield, dents, dings, prior un repaired collision damage, cracked lamps etc...) Comment on a prior repair any where on the vehicle in detail (overspray noted on trunk and quarter panel when the loss is to the front end) Write an estimate to correct a poor repair (replace rail, repair un-repaired areas, add undercoating etc )
