Driving with a Suspended License: Is It Worth It? After being charged with a DUI the most common repercussion is the suspension of your driver s license. Having a suspended, or revoked, license presents a set of obstacles that many people face each year. Some believe it is worth the risk to drive on a suspended license and decide to forgo their driver s license reapplication process. By doing so, these people believe they are avoiding the fees associated with regaining their license (paying an administrative fee, installing an ignition interlock device, etc.). As the chart on the following page shows, driving with a suspended license is a serious offense that can end up costing more than these reapplication fees and is met with strict penalties ranging from; increased length of license suspension, large monetary fines, impoundment of your vehicle, hard jail time, and even being charged with a felony. If your driver s license has been recently revoked, and you re thinking of driving without it, ask yourself this question: Is it worth it? If your license has recently been suspended after being charged with a DUI, give us a call today at to find out what you need to install an ignition interlock device in order to regain your driving privileges.
