ARMASOUND INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS THE FIRST SOUND CONTROL SYSTEMS TO MINIMISE THE RISK OF CORROSION UNDER INSULATION (CUI)
ARMASOUND INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS: THE BENEFITS THE FIRST SOUND CONTROL SYSTEMS TO MINIMISE THE RISK OF CORROSION UNDER INSULATION (CUI) Combining thermal insulation and noise reduction in a single modular solution, ArmaSound Industrial Systems are a true innovation for Marine, Offshore and Industrial environments. The sandwich systems come in several combinations of thermal (Armaflex Industrial) and acoustic (ArmaSound) insulation layers and can be finished with various types of cladding (Arma-Chek polymeric covering, metal cladding or GRP cladding). ArmaSound Industrial Systems provides significant noise reduction for all pipe work typically used in these industries. The systems have been successfully installed in multiple renown offshore and onshore oil and gas projects since their conception in the late 9 s. BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH ARMASOUND INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS Engineered for all common types of industrial pipelines, tanks and vessels, ArmaSound Industrial Systems solve a wide array of noise control and insulation challenges: Combined thermal and acoustic properties, especially for cryogenic installations (incl. LNG and FLNG) Optimum density, air-flow resistivity and complex pore geometry for maximum acoustic benefit Superior acoustic performance compared to conventional acoustic lagging (especially in low frequencies) The built-in water-vapour-barrier provides continuous long-term thermal efficiency Prevents condensation using closed cell technology No galvanic corrosion Reduced insulation thickness ( %) Reduced overall system weight ( %) Ease of application - up to % faster Considerably lower installed and maintenance costs Reduces Health and Safety risks Resists UV, oil, chemical and weather attacks
ACOUSTIC STANDARDS: ISO 15665 ISO 15665 is an international standard which defines the acoustic performance of three classes (classes A, B and C) of pipe insulation and specifies three types of construction that will meet these acoustic performance classes. Furthermore, it defines a standardized test method for measuring the acoustic performance of any type of construction, thereby allowing existing and new insulation constructions to be rated against the three classes. ISO 15665 is applicable to the acoustic insulation of cylindrical steel pipes and to their piping components. It is not applicable to the acoustic insulation of rectangular ducting and vessels or machinery. Insulation systems are classified by their insertion loss performance and the diameter of pipe onto which they are applied. The standard allows noise control engineers to select the correct insulation system during the design stage in order to ensure that specified noise targets are met. PROOFED AND TESTED ArmaSound Industrial Systems are proofed and tested by recognized institutes and meet - or beat - the requirements of the main standards on noise control: 33 ISO 15665 Class A to Class C, Class D acc. to Shell DEP Spec. ARMASOUND INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS: THE COMPONENTS THE SECRET IS IN THE LAYER DESIGN: HIGHER EFFICIENCY, LESS SPACE & WEIGHT To obtain the highest efficiency in thermal acoustic insulation while keeping thickness and weight as low as possible not only requires a good understanding of the different individual materials, but also on how they behave when used together. Armacell Engineered Systems works in close cooperation with acoustic engineering departments of renowned universities and internationally recognised testing institutes to test and prove the performance of each of the systems designed. Each system is modularly built with different thermal and acoustic insulation materials and can be finished with various types of claddings. All systems comply with ISO 15665 Class A to Class C and Class D acc. to Shell DEP 31.46..31 ARMAFLEX INDUSTRIAL: HIGH PERFORMANCE THERMAL INSULATION Armaflex Industrial is the world s leading flexible elastomeric insulation material (FEF). Combining an excellent thermal conductivity with a closed cell structure, Armaflex is renowned for its built-in water vapour barrier, its resistance to water ingress and its long term durability. Armaflex is dust and fibre free, it requires no external vapour barrier and will maintain its thermal properties over a long period of time. As part of the system, the Armaflex layer(s) are a key element for effective acoustic decoupling. Industrial grade Armaflex solutions come with an excellent mechanical stability and are suitable for temperatures from cryogenic (-18 ºC) to hot process applications (+2 ºC). ARMASOUND RD2: ENHANCED SOUND ABSORPTION Delivering optimal performance at lower thicknesses than traditional materials, ArmaSound RD2 is a uniquely advanced open cell acoustic insulation material. Depending on the thickness chosen, ArmaSound RD2 offers excellent sound absorption behaviour across the entire frequency range. Thanks to a density much greater than traditional acoustic absorption materials, it is also suitable for some applications as an acoustic airborne noise barrier. ArmaSound RD2 is a dust and fibre free solution that is suitable for use in a wide range of demanding environments ensuring lowest environmental impact.
ARMASOUND INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS: THE COMPONENTS ARMAFLEX INDUSTRIAL Armaflex Industrial grade materials are especialy engineered for oil and gas industries and perform extremely well as integrated part of ArmaSound Industrial Systems. HT/Armaflex Industrial HT/Armaflex Industrial IMO LT/Armaflex Industrial Layers used in the construction of ArmaSound Industrial Systems are to be installed in accordance with our application manuals and instructions. Care and attention should always be given to their individual service temperature capabilities which should satisfy the design layer interface conditions during operation. i.e. in the case of HT/Armaflex Industrial (inc. IMO) and LT/Armaflex Industrial the minimum acoustic service temperature is - ºC and - ºC, respectively. ARMASOUND BARRIER: EFFICIENT SOUND BARRIER ArmaSound Barrier E is a vinyl sound barrier mat loaded with naturally occurring minerals. The product is free of lead, unrefined aromatic oils and bitumen. It is excellent at reducing the transmission of airborne sound and in enhancing the insertion loss performance of pipe insulation. ARMA-CHEK R CLADDING: DURABLE MECHANICAL PROTECTION Arma-Chek R is a particularly resilient, non metallic, covering system. Reducing the corrosion and installation issues associated with metallic covering systems Arma-Chek R has been designed to work in harmony with Armaflex insulation, expanding and contracting as required. It is also used to enhance the insertion loss performance of our acoustic insulation systems.
