Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the "Accessory Installation Practices" document. This document covers such items as:- Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.). Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.). Please see your Lexus dealer for a copy of this document. 1. Preparation. (a) Inspect all kit components and check for damage or missing parts. (b) Install the 12 clips onto the door scuff plates. (Fig. 1-1) Fig. 1-1 (c) Remove rear carpet floor board and rear right corner cover (Fig. 1-2) Fig. 1-2 (d) Remove the trunk organizer. (Fig. 1-3) Fig. 1-3 Page 2 of 14 pages

(e) Remove the right side trunk compartment. (1) Unscrew plastic nut and remove the compartment. (Fig. 1-4) Fig. 1-4 (f) Remove rear right corner panel. (Fig. 1-5) (1) Unclip two clips on top. Fig. 1-5 10mm wrench (g) Remove the negative battery terminal. (Fig. 1-5) (1) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool part of the tool when removing cable. 2. Vehicle Disassembly. Fig. 1-5 (a) Remove the front left and front right door sills. (Fig. 2-1) (1) Unhook the clips at the back to unbuckle caved portion of the door sill. (2) Gently pull up the rocker portion of the door sill. (3) If a clip is stuck to the body after removal, remove the clip from the body. Fig. 2-1 Page 3 of 14 pages

(b) Remove the front left and front right cowl side covers. (Fig. 2-2) (1) Remove the retaining nut. (2) Pull the cover straight away from the body to detach the plastic clip and the metal clip on the weather seal. Fig. 2-2 (3) If a plastic clip is stuck to the body after removal, remove the clip and reattach it to the cowl cover. (4) If the metal clip comes off the weather seal, reattach it back to the weather seal. (c) Remove the rear left and rear right door sills. (Fig. 2-3) Fig. 2-3 (1) Unhook the clips at the back to unbuckle caved portion of the door sill. (2) Gently pull up the rocker portion of the door sill. (3) If a clip is stuck to the body after removal, remove the clip and reattach it to the door sill. Center clip Fig. 2-4 (d) Remove passenger side IP under cover. (Fig. 2-4) (1) Unfasten the center clip then carefully pull both ends down. Fig. 2-5 (e) Disconnect the passenger side footwell lamp connector and unfasten the MAP connector to the left of it (if equipped). (Fig. 2-5) Page 4 of 14 pages

(f) Unfasten footwell lamp harness retainer from the passenger side IP under cover. (Fig. 2-6) (1) Use a small pry tool to squeeze the tabs together to unfasten. Fig. 2-6 Screwdriver (g) Remove driver side IP under cover. (1) Remove the two screws holding in the IP under cover. (Fig. 2-7) Screws Fig. 2-7 (2) Disconnect the two connectors on the driver side IP under cover. (Fig. 2-8) Fig. 2-8 (3) Using a small pry tool, squeeze the tabs together to unfasten the two harness retainers from the driver side IP under cover. (Fig. 2-9) Fig. 2-9 Page 5 of 14 pages

3. Install Passenger Side T-taps. (a) Locate the disconnected Gray 2 pin passenger side foot well lamp connector. (1) Remove tape and pull back the sleeve to expose wires. (Fig. 3-1) Fig. 3-1 Fig. 3-2 Pliers Passenger side 2 Pin connector Wire side view (b) Locate Blue wire, Pin 1, on the Gray 2 pin connector. (Fig. 3-2) (1) Install a t-tap about 1inch from the connector end. (2) Make sure t-tap is snapped in correctly. (c) Locate White wire, Pin 2, on the Gray 2 pin connector. (Fig. 3-2) (1) Install a t-tap about 1.5 inches from the connector end. (2) Make sure t-tap is snapped in correctly. Fig. 4-2 Wire tie Harness Clip 4. Install Front Passenger Side Door Sill. (a) Locate the front Right Hand (RH) door sill plate. (1) The part will have a RH indicator on the back. (b) Connect Spade terminals of door sill harness to the T-tapped wires. (Fig. 4-1) (1) The connector on the RED wire goes to the T-tap on the WHITE wire. (2) The connector on the BLUE wire goes to the T-tap on the BLUE wire. (c) Wrap the sleeve over the t-taps. (d) Wrap a foam tape over the sleeve and spade terminals. Page 6 of 14 pages

(e) Secure the door sill wires to the OE harness 1.5 inches above the harness clip with one (1) wire tie. (Fig. 4-2) (1) Trim tie straps. Fig. 4-3 (f) Route the harness along the OE harness to the right side of the vehicle as shown, and secure with two (2) wire ties. (Fig 4-3) (g) Continue to route the wires along the OE harness to the cowl panel area and secure with two (2) wire ties as shown. (Fig. 4-4) Fig. 4-4 Fuse (h) Route the harness down toward the connector block and secure the fuse to the OE harness with two (2) wire ties as shown. (Fig. 4-5) Fig. 4-5 (i) Route the harness down toward the door sill area and secure to the OE harnesses with three (3) wire ties as shown. (Fig. 4-6) (1) DO NOT wire tie to Airbag harness. (2) DO NOT wire tie to the windshield washer fluid hose. (j) Trim all wire ties. (k) Reinstall the passenger side cowl cover. Fig. 4-6 (1) Make sure clips are snapped in properly and the retaining nut is reinstalled. Page 7 of 14 pages

(l) Route the wire so that the wire sits inside of the wire holder and secure with two (2) wire ties as shown. (Fig. 4-7) (1) DO NOT wire tie to the windshield washer fluid hose. (m) Trim wire ties. Fig. 4-7 (n) Install passenger side door sill. (Fig. 4-8) (1) Line up the 4 front clips to the holes on the rocker. (2) Line up the 2 side clips to the cowl panel and B pillar panel. (3) Press down to secure the side clips and back claws. Fig. 4-8 (4) Press down to secure the front clips. (5) Make sure door sill is properly snapped down in place and that there is no lifting or uneven gaps around the edges. (o) Reinstall the passenger side IP under cover. (1) Reconnect any disconnected connectors. 5. Install Driver Side T-taps. (a) Locate Violet wire, Pin 1, on the Gray 2 pin connector. (Fig. 5-1, 5-2) Pliers Driver side 2 Pin connector Wire side view (1) Install a t-tap about 1 inch from the connector end. (2) Make sure t-tap is snapped in correctly. (b) Locate Sky Blue wire, Pin 2, on the Gray 2 pin connector. (Fig. 5-1, 5-2) Fig. 5-2 (1) Install a t-tap about 1.5 inches from the connector end. (2) Make sure t-tap is snapped in correctly. Green stub 6. Install Front Driver Side Door Sill. (a) Locate the front Right Hand (LH) door sill plate. Left harness (1) The part will have a LH indicator on the back. Fig. 6-1 (b) Route the wire harness along the left OE harnesses between the green stub and connector block as shown. (Fig. 6-1) Fig. 6-2 Hood latch cable (c) Continue to route the harness toward the driver side brace along the same OE harness. (Fig. 6-2) (1) Make sure the harness is routed behind the hood latch cable. (d) Connect Spade terminal of door sill harness to the T-tapped wires. (Fig. 6-3) (1) The connector on the RED wire goes to the T-tap on the SKY BLUE wire. (2) The connector on the VIOLET wire goes to the T-tap on the VIOLET wire. (e) Wrap the terminals and wire with a piece of foam tape. (Fig. 6-4) (1) DO NOT wrap clip with foam tape. Fig. 6-4 Page 9 of 14 pages

Half piece of foam tape (f) Cut a piece of foam tape in half. (Fig. 6-5) (g) Attach the half piece of foam tape to the rear left corner of the driver side IP under cover. (Fig. 6-5) (1) DO NOT block the clip hole. Fig. 6-5 Cut foam tape (h) Reconnect connectors and clips to driver side IP under cover. (1) Attach clips and connectors. Wire tie (i) Secure the door sill harness to the OE harness next to the clip with one (1) wire tie. (Fig. 6-6) (1) Trim wire tie. Fig. 6-6 Foam Tape Fig. 6-7 Door Sill Wire (j) Route the door sill harness over foam tape on the rear left corner of the driver side IP under cover. (Fig. 6-7) (1) Secure the harness to the foam tape with the other half piece of the foam tape. (k) Reinstall driver side IP under cover. (1) Reinstall the two mounting screws. Metal end Fig. 6-8 Left colored tape mark (l) Route the harness across to the parking brake cable to the left of the left colored tape mark and secure to the parking brake cable with three (3) wire ties as shown. (Fig. 6-8) (1) Make sure there is no excess slack in the wire between the parking brake cable and the IP under cover. (2) Keep the harness away from the metal end of the parking brake cable. Fuse Fig. 6-9 (m) Route the harness down to the OE harness below the brace and secure with three (3) wire ties as shown. (Fig. 6-9) (1) The fuse should be secured to the left side of the OE harness with two wire ties on each side. (2) DO NOT secure to the hood latch cable. (n) Route the harness down toward the door sill and secure the harness to the OE harnesses with three (3) wire ties as shown. (Fig. 6-10) Fig. 6-10 (o) Reinstall the driver side cowl cover. (1) Make sure clips are snapped in properly and the retaining nut is reinstalled. (p) Route the wire so that the wire sits inside of the wire holder and secure with two (2) wire ties as shown. (Fig. 6-11) (1) Trim wire ties. Fig. 6-11 Fig. 6-12 (q) Install driver side door sill. (Fig. 6-12) (1) Line up the 4 front clips to the holes on the rocker. (2) Line up the 2 side clips to the cowl panel and B pillar panel. (3) Press down to secure the side clips and back claws. (4) Press down to secure the front clips. (5) Make sure door sill is properly snapped down in place and that there is no lifting or uneven gaps around the edges. Page 11 of 14 pages

7. Install Rear Passenger Side Door Sill. (a) Install door sill. (Fig. 7-1) (1) Line up 2 front clips to the holes on the rocker. (2) Line up the two side clips to the B pillar panel and the side garnish. Fig. 7-1 (3) Press down to secure the side clips and back claws. (4) Press down to secure the front clips. (5) Make sure door sill is properly snapped down in place and that there is no lifting or uneven gaps around the edges. 8. Install Rear Driver Side Door Sill. (a) Install door sill. (Fig. 8-1) (1) Line up 2 front clips to the holes on the rocker. (2) Line up the two side clips to the B pillar panel and the side garnish. Fig. 8-1 (3) Press down to secure the side clips and back claws. (4) Press down to secure the front clips. 9. Testing. (5) Make sure door sill is properly snapped down in place and that there is no lifting or uneven gaps around the edges. (a) Temporarily reconnect the negative battery terminal. (b) If necessary, install the short pin located in the engine compartment. (c) Close the trunk. (1) Make sure battery is connected before closing the trunk. Page 12 of 14 pages

(d) Make sure all doors and the trunk are closed before proceeding with the function check. (1) Open driver side door, the door sill light should light up. (2) Press in on the door ground switch, the door sill light should turn off after a few seconds. (3) Close the driver side door and open the passenger side door, the passenger side door sill should light up. (4) Press in on the door ground switch, the door sill light should turn off after a few seconds. 10. Vehicle Reassembly. (a) Tighten the negative battery cable. (1) Position the negative battery cable at the original factory position. Tighten the nut with 5.4 N-m (48 in-lbf) of torque. Torque: 5.4 N-m (48 in-lbf) (2) Do not touch the positive battery terminal with any tool when replacing the cable. (b) Reinstall the trunk corner panel. (c) Reinstall the right side trunk compartment. (d) Reinstall the trunk organizer. (e) Reinstall the rear carpet floor board and the right rear corner cover. 11. Completing The Installation. (a) Perform any accessory or vehicle function checks. (b) If required, replace the short pin to its original position. (c) Clean up and remove any trash. Page 13 of 14 pages

Checklist - these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Check: Look For: Accessory Function Checks Door sill fitment Open front door Press front courtesy switch There should be no uneven gaps around the edges, and clips should be securely fastened. Front door sill light should turn on. Front door sill light should turn off after a few seconds. Vehicle Function Checks Front footwell lights TPMS Remote engine start (if installed) Security (if installed) Front footwell door courtesy lights should operate normally. Ensure tire pressure monitor functions correctly. RES should function properly. Security should function properly. Vehicle Appearance Check After accessory installation and removal of protective cover(s), perform a visual inspection. Ensure no damage (including scuffs and scratches) was caused during the installation process. (For PPO installations, refer to TMS Accessory Quality Shipping Standard.) Page 14 of 14 pages
