FLUID EVACUATOR Item Number W54171 OWNER S MANUAL WARNING It is the owner and/or operators responsibility to study all WARNINGS, operating, and maintenance instructions contained on the product label and instruction manual prior to operation of this product. The owner/operator shall retain product instructions for future reference. The owner and/or operator are responsible for maintenance, maintaining all decals or warning labels and while in use, maintaining the unit in good working order. If the owner and/or operator are not fluent in English, the product warnings and instructions shall be read and discussed with the operators native language by the purchaser/owner or his designee. Make sure that the operator comprehends its contents. Safety information shall be emphasized and understood prior to usage. The product shall be inspected per the operating instructions. Users of this product must fully understand these instructions. Each person operating this product must also be of sound mind and body and must not be under the influence of any substance that might impair their vision, dexterity or judgment. Protect yourself and others by observing all safety information. Failure to comply with instructions could result in personal injury and/or property damage! Please read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES WARNING: Always read instructions carefully prior to use. Recommended for use with the following fluids: Engine oil Gear oil Transmission fluid Power steering fluid Automotive radiator coolant. NOT suitable for fuels or brake fluid. WARNING: Never use with gasoline or other flammable liquids! CAUTION: Maximum temperature of fluids should not exceed 100 Fahrenheit (37.7 Celsius). Going above this temperature may distort the plastic reservoir. To prevent damage to the pump use the shut-off function to prevent overfilling the fluid reservoir. As the extracted fluid nears the top of the reservoir interrupt the flow of the fluid by closing the cap valve. WARNING: In some applications, the job may require jacking or lifting the vehicle. Use appropriate safety stands and wheel chocks to avoid serious or fatal injury. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS A quick and efficient way to extract oil product from most fuel powered vehicles and equipment without mess. Works well with cars, trucks, motorcycles, marine, lawn equipment, shop equipment, just about anything that has non-flammable fluids in a holding reservoir. Always read instructions carefully prior to use. Recommended for use with the following fluids: Engine oil Gear oil Transmission fluid Power steering fluid Automotive radiator coolant. NOT SUITABLE for fuels or brake fluid. EXTRACTING OIL FROM AN ENGINE 1. Operate the vehicle briefly to warm the engine oil, no need to reach normal operating temperature. 2. Properly park the vehicle on level ground and turn the engine off. Do not overfill the holding tank. 3. Remove dipstick from engine, straighten the narrow white colored suction hose and measure the length of the dipstick against the suction probe. We recommend you mark this length with a pen. Slowly insert the marked suction probe into the dipstick fill hole. Continue until it reaches the bottom of the oil pan. When you reach you mark on the probe then insert it carefully another 1 to 3 inches until you feel it bump into the oil pan. Stop inserting, do not insert the suction probe more than 3 inches beyond dipstick length. Going beyond will flex the suction probe causing it to get stuck and restrict its removal. In some cases there won t be a dip stick tube available, such as a lawn mower or other small engines. In such cases use the oil filler plug to drain from. Remove the oil filler plug. Slowly insert the suction probe avoiding obstacles to reach the bottom of the crankcase. 4. Extract the used engine oil by pumping the evacuator handle several times to create a vacuum. Once the oil begins to flow into the reservoir, continue to operate the pump if necessary until all oil has been drained, or the reservoir is full. Once the flow begins, gravity may draw the used oil out if the evacuator is lower than the souce. NOTE: Due to varying engine fluid capacities, if the crankcase capacity exceeds 8 Quarts/7.5 liters, it may be necessary to empty the 5. To avoid spills the valve cap should be left open until the fluid in the tube either goes into the evacuator or back down the dipstick hole. Once completely drained remove the cap valve and empty the reservoir into a suitable container. Dispense the waste fluid in accordance with your local state regulations. 6. During the extraction process if you hear a suction sounds and see bubbles in the hose, move the hose slowly up and down just a bit to ensure complete and efficient oil removal. If vacuum was interrupted, pump a few more times to reinitiate the flow and continue vacuuming oil. 7. Refill the engine with new oil in accordance with a proper vehicle maintenance guide. 8. When completed rinse the evacuator reservoir, adapter, and tubes with water based solvent or engine degreaser, never with fuel or flammable liquids. Allow all to dry thoroughly. NOTE: Due to varying engine fluid capacities, if the crankcase capacity exceeds 8 Quarts/7.5 liters, it may be necessary to empty the 2

EXTRACTING FLUID FROM A TRANSMISSION 1. Extract transmission fluid through the dipstick tube. Operate the vehicle to warm the transmission fluid, no need to reach normal operating temperature. 2. Properly park the vehicle on level ground and turn the engine off. 3. Remove the transmission fluid dipstick. 4. Insert the appropriate diameter dipstick tube into the transmission dipstick fill hole until it reaches the bottom of the transmission pan. Refer to step 4 above for suction probe limitations. Use the transmission dip stick as a reference. Be sure the hose is fully inserted tightly into cap-valve. 5. Extract the used transmission fluid by pumping the evacuator handle several times to create a vacuum. Once the fluid begins to flow into the reservoir, continue to operate the pump until all oil has been drained, or the reservoir is full. Once the flow begins, gravity may draw the used fluid out if the evacuator is lower than the source 6. Remove suction probe from dipstick tube, remove cap valve from the reservoir, and pour the used transmission fluid into a suitable container. Drive the vehicle to warm the differential fluid, no need to reach normal operating temperature. 2. Properly park the vehicle on level ground and turn the engine off. Set emergency brake or chock the tires. 3. Locate and remove the drain plug from the differential. Have the EvacUflo ready with the cap valve closed and vacuum built up by operation pump several times. With the pump handle at the top it may be difficult to operate under the vehicle. 4. Place the suction probe in the drain hole and open the cap valve. It may be necessary to move the suction probe around getting to the bottom of the differential to remove all the fluid. Typically differential fluid is 90 weight and may take longer to remove. 5. Refill the differential with new fluid in accordance with a proper vehicle maintenance guide. 6. When completed rinse the evacuator reservoir, pump, adapter, and tubes with water based solvent or engine CAUTION: Failure to allow the engine to cool before attempting to remove the cap could result in serious injuries. Never remove the cap from the radiator or expansion tank while the engine is hot or operating. The cap will be under pressure and the coolant may be extremely hot. EXTRACTING COOLANT FROM A RADIATOR 1. Properly park the vehicle on level ground and turn the engine off. 2. Do not preheat the engine there is no need to warm the engine. Remove the radiator or expansion tank cap. 3. Insert the main suction tube into the radiator or expansion tank until it reaches the bottom, and the other end of the hose is fully inserted tightly into cap-valve. 4. Pump the evacuator handle several times to create a vacuum, the coolant should begin to flow into the reservoir. Continue this until the radiator is empty or the reservoir is full. Repeat if necessary. Once the flow begins gravity may draw the used fluid out providing the Fluid Evacuator is lower than the source 3

EXTRACTING COOLANT FROM A RADIATOR CONT. 5. Remove suction probe from dipstick tube, remove cap valve from the reservoir, and pour the used transmission fluid into a suitable container. Dispense the waste fluid in accordance with your local regulations. 6. Refill the radiator with new coolant in accordance with a proper vehicle maintenance guide. 7. When completed rinse the evacuator reservoir, pump, adapter, and tubes with water based solvent or engine EXTRACTING COOLANT FROM THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR 1. Properly park the vehicle on level ground and turn the engine off. 2. Clean the exterior of the power steering fluid reservoir, it s common for dirt to collect on the reservoir. This prevents dirt from entering the reservoir when the cap is removed. 3. Remove the cap from the power steering fluid reservoir. 4. Insert the main suction tube into the fluid reservoir until it reaches the bottom, and the other end of the hose is fully inserted tightly into cap-valve. 5. Extract the used power steering fluid by pumping the evacuator handle several times to create a vacuum. Once the fluid begins to flow into the reservoir, continue to operate the pump until all oil has been drained, or the reservoir is full. Once the flow begins, gravity may draw the used fluid out if the evacuator is lower than the source 6. Remove suction probe from reservoir, remove cap valve from the reservoir, and pour the used transmission fluid into a suitable container. Dispense the waste fluid in accordance with your local regulations. 7. Refill the reservoir with new power steering fluid in accordance with a proper vehicle maintenance guide. 8. LIMITED WARRANTY PERFORMANCE TOOL extends only the following warranties, and only to original retail purchasers. These warranties give specific legal rights. Except where prohibited by local law, the law of the State of Washington governs all warranties and all exclusions and limitations of warranties and remedies. A defective product may be returned for a free replacement within 90 days from the date of purchase, provided that product is returned to place of purchase immediately after discovery of defect. After 90 days and up to one year from date of purchase, PERFORMANCE TOOL will replace at no charge any parts which our examination shall disclose to be defective and under warranty. These warranties exclude blades, bits, punches, dies, bulbs, fuses, hoses, and other consumables which must be replaced under normal use and service. These warranties shall not apply to any product or part which is used for a purpose for which it is not designed, or which has been repaired or altered in any way so as to affect adversely its performance or reliability, nor shall these warranties apply to any product or part which has been subject to misuse, neglect, accident or wear and tear incident to normal use and service. PERFORMANCE TOOL does not authorize any other person to make any warranty or to assume any liability in connection with its products. Except for warranties of title and the limited express warranties set forth above, PERFORMANCE TOOL makes no express or implied warranties of any kind with respect to its products. In particular, PERFORMANCE TOOL makes no implied warranty of merchantability and no implied warranty of fitness for any particular purpose, except that for goods purchased primarily for personal, family or household use and not for commercial or business use, PERFORMANCE TOOL makes an implied warranty of merchantability (and, if otherwise applicable, an implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose), but only for the particular qualities or characteristics, and for the duration, expressly warranted above. The laws on limitation of implied warranties may differ from state to state, so the above limitations may not apply in all cases. PERFORMANCE TOOL shall not be liable for consequential, incidental or special damages resulting from or in any manner related to any product, or to the design, use, or any inability to use the product. The sole and exclusive remedy for a defective product or part shall be the repair, or replacement thereof as provided above. The laws on limitation of remedies or on consequential, incidental or special damages may vary from state to state, so the above limitations may not apply in all cases.
