What to Talk About Know the client s needs Before presenting any lighting product, understand your client s needs to ensure you are demonstrating a viable solution that meets the challenges of their project(s).! Show the brochures The product brochures include photography and product details that can help you highlight key points. SALES APPROACH Housing Talk about the quality of the aluminum extrusion construction, die-cast endcaps and scratch-resistant powder coat finish. Also point out the quality of the fit and finish achieved through Ledalite s world class manufacturing processes. Performance Discuss how Ledalite s optical systems are designed to give building occupants maximum visual comfort for both computer and paper-based tasks. Highlight how this type of direct/indirect suspended lighting can improve energy efficiency and help meet energy codes. Mention that high-performance optical packages are available. Lower optics (louver type) Point out the different louver options that are available and discuss how they affect the aesthetics and lighting performance in the space. Each one of your sales samples includes three different louver types to show. Upper optics Demonstrate how Variable Optics can be used to tune lighting to the task by adding additional up or downlight where needed. Three Variable Optics downlight kits are included with each sample. Demonstrate how lamp separators work to provide options for two circuit switching. Two lamp separator kits are included with each sample. Variable Optics Variable Optics kits are supplied with a range of voids to produce varying distributions of up or downlight. Lamp Separators In 3-lamp luminaires, lamp separators can be used to convert the two outside lamps to either 100% uplight or 100% downlight.! Know the competition If you are in a competitive bidding situation, refer to the competitive analysis on page 18 of this manual to identify the key strengths of the product family. Wiring and mounting Discuss the contractor-friendly design, the factory pre-wired quickconnectors and integrated leveling capability at all ends and joints. Explain the options for fixed or variable position mounting that allow flexibility with mount locations and ceiling types. Your sample includes a fixed position mount at one end and a variable position mount at the other. Cost and delivery Be sure to highlight that the entire aluminum product line is competitively priced with comparable steel products, and that it is available on Ledalite s 9-day QuickShip delivery program. PRODUCT DETAILS Module Lengths Each product is available in 4ft, 8ft and 12ft modules. Module lengths exclude endcaps. Individual modules can be mounted on 4ft, 8ft or 12ft nominal mount spacing with fixed position mounts; or they can be be joined together to form longer runs (see Mounting below). Ends / Joints Achieva Endeavor Thrive Mounting Fixed position mounts are supplied as standard at ends. Variable position mounts are supplied as standard at joints. Variable position mounts cannot be located on 4ft modules. Optional variable position mounts at ends are available upon request (8ft and 12ft modules only). Lower Optics PRODUCT DETAILS Lower optics affect the fixture s aesthetic look and lighting performance by using different reflective materials and/or spacing of the louvers. Louver Options Order Code / Louver Description W White 34 cells / 4ft P Semi-Specular 15 cells / 4ft S Specular 15 cells / 4ft The white louver blades are made of a diffuse polymer that increases brightness on the bottom of the fi xture. The semi-specular and specular louvers are made of highly-refl ective aluminum (the semi-specular is slightly less refl ective than the specular). These options provide greater cut-off control than the white blades. M Semi-Specular VDT 30 cells / 4ft R Specular VDT 30 cells / 4ft By using more louvers cells, The VDT specular and semi-specular options provide additional high-angle cut-off to minimize glare on VDT screens. Upper Optics Variable Optics Variable Optics kits offer a quick, easy and affordable way to tune the lighting to the task. They are designed to help specifiers standardize on one housing aesthetic while accommodating different lighting needs and preferences throughout the space. Variable Optics kits are supplied with a range of voids to produce varying distributions of up or downlight (see next page for distribution details). Lamp Separators In 3-lamp luminaires, lamp separator kits can be combined with two circuit fixtures to barrier the two outside lamps to either 100% direct downlight or 100% indirect uplight distribution. This enables switching while maintaining task or ambient lighting as required. For example, in a space where media projectors are used, lamp separators could be applied to maintain ambient light levels while eliminating direct lamp glare on media screens. 13

High Performance Version PRODUCT DETAILS Ledalite uses a high quality 96% reflective paint finish on all standard internal optics components to provide exceptionally efficient luminaires. If your client has more demanding photometric requirements, high-performance versions of each product are available in all T8 and T5HO lamping options. High-performance fixtures include additional highly-specular aluminum reflectors that produce superior batwing distributions for more aggressive row spacing or increased ceiling uniformity. PRODUCT DETAILS Installation All Ledalite linear systems are designed with the contractor in mind. Wiring Ledalite s joiner aligner tabs secure suspended modules in place, freeing up hands so contractors can make electrical connections. Wiring is quick and easy with factory pre-wired quick-wire connectors. Joining Once wiring is complete, joiner aligner tabs simply snap together. The contractor secures joints with a nut and bolt connection. Leveling Pivot-style leveling allows for precise horizontal leveling at all ends and joints. Screws on either side of mount clip allow ample room for adjustment while keeping the fi xture centered. Endcaps Die-cast aluminum endcaps are installed at the end of runs using a nut driver. Quick-Ship Program Achieva, Endeavor and Thrive are offered on Ledalite s QuickShip delivery program shipped in nine working days when you need it. Fit and finsih The end result is a smooth hairline joint, free from light leaks. 17
