Section F tomizing Overview If your application requires air atomizing nozzles, you ll find information on the largest selection in the industry available in this section. hoose from dozens of nozzle bodies, assemblies and spray set-ups to get the precise performance you require. atomizing nozzles require a single air source for the atomizing air. Some versions, equipped with a cylinder for automatic operation or clean-out and shut-off needles, may require an additional air line. Fluid lines are required for all models. The fluid line can be pressurized or supplied using a siphon- or gravityfed configuration. It is recommended that air and fluid lines are equipped with the proper filters, regulators and valves. atomizing nozzles require spray set-ups. Each set-up consists of an air cap and fluid cap and some may also include O-rings and retainer caps. You can select from a wide assortment of capacities, spray patterns and pressure- or siphon-fed set-ups. Product Range: 1/J and 1/J Series nozzles are available in many configurations and operate at standard flow rates. Ranges from: 0. to.1 at psi (2.0 to 2 l/h at 2. bar). Variable spray nozzles provide independent control of liquid, atomizing air and fan air pressure for fine tuning of flow rate, drop size, spray distribution and coverage. 1/2J Series nozzles offer the same features and benefits as 1/J and 1/J Series but operate at higher capacities. Ranges from:.2 to 2 at psi ( to l/h at 2. bar). 1J Series nozzles offer the highest flow rates available. Ranges from: 1 to 0 at psi ( to l/h at 2. bar). dditional information can be found in Section G, utomatic and in Section K, Special Purpose. tomizing Table of ontents asic Information s................................................... tomizing tomizing Optimization Tips Reduce installation time by using split-eyelet connectors on both the air and fluid lines. Split-eyelet connectors only require a hole drilled into the pipe, eliminating the need for cutting, threading and brazing operations. To eliminate the unintentional release of non-atomized liquid, use a check valve to shut down liquid flow if no air pressure is detected. Use air atomizing nozzles with clean-out needles to eliminate clogging and ensure optimum performance. Use strainers and air filters to ensure optimum performance. If positive shut-off is required, use rip Free set-ups with JU nozzles. Use a heat jacket with VU/VMU variable spray nozzles to keep viscous liquids warm and transferable. When adjusting air pressure with internal mix nozzles, do not exceed recommended values as it may result in choking liquid flow. Increasing liquid flow can also choke air flow. For optimal control of your air atomizing spray system, the use of an utojet System helps conserve liquid usage and reduces scrap by monitoring and automatically adjusting spray pattern, flow rate, drop size, liquid pressure and atomizing air pressure. utojet ontrollers and Systems atomizing nozzles with clean-out needles Heat jackets nozzles Hot fluid flow channel ut out view of heat jacket showing unique flow channel Phone 1-00--spray, FX 1---spray F2

Features, asic Information tomizing Features Each series is available with a pressure spray set-up or siphon spray set-up. Each set-up provides a specific spray pattern with a specific capacity and spray coverage range performance. set-ups are interchangeable for each nozzle series. Round spray: Extended full cone round spray pattern. Wide angle round spray: Hollow cone-type, wide angle round spray pattern. circular spray: Hollow cone-type circular spray pattern. Flat spray: Extended flat or sheet-type spray pattern. eflected flat spray: Extended flat or sheet-type spray diverted away from the axis of the inlet connection. Each spray set-up consists of an air cap and fluid cap. For more information request ata Sheets 1 and 1-1. tomization ontrol Features chieved by adjusting the air and liquid pressure in the spray set-up. Obtaining finer atomization is accomplished by increasing the air pressure and/or lowering the liquid pressure, resulting in a high ratio of air flow rate to liquid flow rate. External mix with pressure set-ups: Flat and round spray patterns. cap Fluid cap Internal Mix Features Liquid and air are mixed internally to produce a completely atomized spray. Liquid and gas streams are not independent and a change in air flow will affect the liquid flow. Internal mix uses pressure set-ups and is available with the following spray patterns: circular spray. eflected flat spray. Elliptical spray. Flat spray. Round spray. Wide angle round spray. External Mix Features Liquid and air streams are mixed outside of the nozzle. and liquid flow can be controlled independently. Effective for higher viscosity liquids and abrasive suspensions. External mix can use siphon set-ups or pressure set-ups. When a siphon set-up is used, a round spray pattern is produced. When a pressure set-up is used, a flat spray pattern is produced. Pressure s, External Mix, High apacity, 1/JJ ompact Series Features and enefits Offers an increased ability to atomize viscous fluids and allows for greater capacities of finely atomized sprays. Simple, one-piece, low-profile design permits larger air passage. More air can be brought in to atomize the liquid stream. tomization can be controlled by varying the air pressure without changing liquid flow rates. When using a pressure-fed liquid system, the liquid is supplied to the nozzle under pressure. s External mix air caps produce a flat spray pattern. Independent control of liquid, atomizing air, and fan air pressures is possible for fine-tuning of flow rate, drop size, spray distribution and coverage. an be set and re-set in seconds, simplifying application changes. Independent air atomizing line can be adjusted to vary spray drop size without affecting liquid flow rates. dditional inlet/outlet port allows for liquid recirculation that effectively maintains the flow of viscous liquids. V offers continuous operation and consists of a body, spray set-up and plug. VN features a manual shut-off needle that enables the flow of the liquid to be stopped. VO features a clean-out needle that clears the liquid orifice of obstructions when activated manually. VNO combines the features of the VN and VO, offering a combination shut-off/clean-out needle. VU offers automatic operation with a built-in shut-off/clean-out needle. VUPM has the same operating features as the VU, but offers the convenience of a mounting plate. VMU allows for individual adjustment of the atomizing air, fan air and liquid flows and offers modular components to accommodate a wide range of spray applications. Mounting Kit -001-1SS uses clamps to mount V nozzles. Mounting Kit -002-SS uses rods to mount V nozzles. Optimization Tips See page F2 for optimization tips. ripsafe Special Purpose Fogger, tomizing Features and enefits High-volume/high-efficiency air atomization. Produces an adjustable, high-quality dry fog without wetting with pressure-fed liquid. Ideal for large/open structures and areas with high air exchange rates. Operation is through a drip safe air-actuated liquid shut-off valve. utomatically prevents liquid from spraying until air pressure at the nozzle is sufficient for fine atomization. rip safe valve simplifies system construction and control while improving performance. Operates using normal water pressures found in municipal water systems, eliminating the need for expensive, high-pressure hydraulic pumps. requirements are met using an air compressor with a capacity range that is suitable for the application. Requires minimal maintenance. The flat spray tip has a large orifice that reduces clogging. set-up and built-in strainer are quickly removed by hand if cleaning is required. tip is brass; valve and body polymer. Operates at pressures up to 0 psi ( bar) with a minimum air pressure range of 2 to psi (1. to 2. bar). split-eyelet or saddle clamp version of the Jet Fogger (2 Series) is also available for quick and easy mounting to the liquid supply pipe. 2 2 Optimization Tips See page F2 for optimization tips. pplications 1/" NPT or SPT (F) Split-eyelet type to clamp on pipe 1/2" to 1" Evaporative cooling Fogging Humidification Insecticide spraying Plant propagation Specifications Nozzle Inlet onn.
