1. Vehicle Disassembly (a) Vehicles with Automatic Transmission should be placed in Park and have the Parking Brake set before disconnecting the Battery. Fig. 1-1 10mm Socket Negative Battery Cable (b) Remove the Negative Battery Cable. (Fig. 1-1) (1) Protect the Fender before starting. (2) Note the Battery Cable Position, as it will be reinstalled in the same position. DO NOT TOUCH THE POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL. 2. GBS Microphone Installation (a) Feed the 4P Connector through the Climate Control Console and connect it to the GBS Microphone. (Fig. 2-1) (1) Verify that the Connector is secure. (Fig. 4-1) (b) Pull the Brace away from the Vehicle Reinforcement. (Fig. 4-1) (1) Do not remove the Brace from the studs. (c) Install Bracket and GBS ECU. (Fig. 4-2) (1) Make sure that the Bracket Pin seats properly. (Fig. 4-3) (1) Verify that the Bracket is secure. 8P Connector (f) Locate the Vehicle s White 8P Connector near the Driver s Side J/B Area. (Fig. 4-4) (1) Remove the Tape securing the Connector. (g) Connect the Vehicle Harness's White 8P Connector to the GBS ECU. (Fig. 4-5) 8P Connector (1) Verify that Connector is securely connected. Fig. 4-5 GBS ECU 5. Registration Preparation Torque Wrench (a) Complete the reassembly of the vehicle. (1) Reconnect any disconnected connectors. (2) Verify the panels fit together properly with no uneven gaps between them. (b) When installing the Driver s side Knee Airbag, install the bolts in the specified order. (Fig. 5-1) Fig. 5-1 (1) Tighten the bolts to 88.5 in lbf (10 N m) (c) Install the Short Pin (Fig. 5-2) Install Short Pin Fig. 5-2 Negative Battery Cable (d) Temporarily reconnect the Negative Battery Terminal. (a) Connect the Techstream Notebook to the Vehicles Diagnostic Port. (Fig. 6-1) Fig. 6-1 (b) Start the TIS Techstream Application by clicking on the shortcut located on the Desktop. (c) Use the Vehicle Key to turn the Vehicles Ignition Switch to ON. (d) Click Connect to Vehicle. 8. Warning Label Installation. For US Vehicles use the English Labels and Dispose of the Spanish Labels. For Mexico Vehicles use the Spanish Labels and Dispose of the English Labels. Clear Tape (a) Use Household Glass Cleaner to clean the inside of the Front Door Window. (Fig. 8-1) Molding Etching Etching (b) Use a piece of Clear Tape to lift the Label from the protective backing. CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface. (c) Attach the V5 Window Label. (Fig. 8-1) Fig. 8-1 Molding NOTE: Make sure to Align according to Etching or Other Label. (Fig. 8-1) REPEAT: steps a c with the other Window. 9. Complete the Installation Fig. 9-1 Torque Wrench, 10mm Socket Negative Battery Cable (a) Position the Negative Battery Cable at the original factory position. (Fig. 9-1) (1) Tighten the Nut to 36 in lbf (4.7 N m) DO NOT TOUCH THE POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL. (b) Clean up and remove any trash. (c) Place the Owner's Guide and Warranty Card, sealed in the bag, in the Glove Box. (d) Discard the GBS Owners Guide. Page 18 of 22 pages

Accessory Function Checks Perform 1 Press and release the remote control s lock button to start the system s arming process. Look For All doors lock. The security LED lights up. 2 Wait 30 seconds. 3 Press and release the remote control s unlock button to disarm the system. The driver s door unlocks. Open the driver s door, insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to ON. Roll down all the windows, remove the key and exit the vehicle. 4 The doors automatically relock. The system automatically starts the arming process. 5 Press and release the remote control s unlock button again to stop the arming process. 6 Insert the key into the driver s door key vehicle to start the arming process. Refer to step 3 All doors lock. The Security LED lights up. 7 Wait 30 seconds. 8 Reach inside and manually unlock the driver s door to trigger an alarm. The driver s door automatically relocks. The horn sounds repeatedly. The Security LED lights up. 9 Manually unlock the driver s door again and hold it unlocked, open the door, then sit in the driver s seat. The driver s door lock attempts to lock repeatedly. The horn continues to sound repeatedly. The Security LED remains on. 10 turn it to START to stop the alarm. The horn stops sounding. The Security LED turns off. The starter cranks and the engine starts. Turn the key back to LOCK, remove it, and then exit the vehicle. 11 on the door to lock the doors, then close the door to start the system s arming process. All doors lock. The Security LED lights up. 12 Wait 30 seconds. Issue: B 07/28/11 Page 19 of 22 pages

The front passenger s door automatically relocks. The horn sounds repeatedly. The Security LED lights up. 14 Press and release the remote control s unlock button to stop the alarm. The horn stops sounding. 15 Press and release the remote control s lock button to start the system s arming process, Refer to steps 1 and 2. armed. 16 Unlock and open one of the rear passenger doors to trigger an alarm. (if available) 17 Press and release the remote control s unlock button to stop the alarm. Refer to step 13. Refer to Step 14 18 passenger door. (if available) Refer to steps 1, 2, and 13. Roll up all windows, remove the key and exit the vehicle. 19 Press and release the remote control s lock button to start the arming process. Refer to step 1. 20 Wait 30 seconds. Perform the following check in a temperature-controlled environment. (50-90 F) 21 With the tip of a key, or Striker Tool pulled The horn sounds repeatedly. alarm. 22 Insert the key into the driver s door key The Security LED lights up.
