Air transport of Lithium cells and batteries Instructions Change to IATA regulation of 01/01/2017
Introduction This document is based on provisions written in the 2016-2017 edition of the technical instructions for safe air transport of dangerous goods by the ICAO (technical instructions) and the 58th edition of Transport Regulations for dangerous goods according to IATA regulations. This document takes into account changes to the IATA regulations of 1st January 2017, which affect the transport of lithium batteries and cells by air. It is the responsibility of the loader to ensure the correct packaging of the Lithium cells and batteries he is shipping and to declare said batteries to Chronopost. Chronopost cannot be responsible for any cells or batteries which may be damaged or faulty (e.g.: product recall by suppliers).
This document shows how to comply with provisions concerning lithium batteries and their air transport. Under no circumstances does it replace the expertise of your Chronopost representative who can help you with shipments of your sensitive goods. From the following page, follow the process!
