Safety Precautions 1. Grounding - This equipment must be grounded. Make sure that the green wire in the power cable is properly attached to a secure earth ground. 2. Power Hook-up - This equipment is designed to be operated from a source of three phase power. When an extension cord is needed, the extension cord must be of the same or larger guage as the supplied power cable to prevent loss of power or overheating of the cable. 3. Overload Circuit Breaker - Make sure that the overload circuit breaker is set to proper amperage according to the input voltage at which the unit is to be operated. 4. Static Shock - Static shock is common in areas with low relative humidity and is not indicative of improper functioning of the Power-Vac. This problem can be reduced by adding moisture to the air with a conventional humidifier. 5. Dry Pick-up - Do not vacuum toxic, combustible or explosive materials. Do not pick up burning cigarettes or other smoking materials, ashes, matches, or similar materials. 6. Wet Pick-up - When the Power-vac is being used for wet pick-ups, make sure that the liquids are going only to the first tank, and that the tank is emptied before becoming full. There is no automatic shut-off for full liquid tanks. 7. Never operate the unit in the presence of flammable vapors or dust or as a sprayer of liquids such as paints or oils. 8. Never operate the unit without the filters in place. Operating Instructions 1. Attachments - Attach hose to the unit and metal fittings to the hose for the task at hand.various shoe inserts are available to convert the nozzel for various purposes. These shoe inserts may be changed by sliding the insert to the shoe as shown in the figure. Unscrew the two red knurled knobs on the master nozzel and retighten these screws after replacement of the shoe.

2. Power Hook-up - Electrical power hook-up must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the applicable electrical codes. This unit is equipped with a three phase motor. The direction of rotation of the motor must be confirmed to be in the direction of the arrow inscribed on the unit. 3. Power On - This unit is designed for continuous operation. When first powered on, please check for powerful suction from the unit. If the unit does not power on, or shuts down after prolonged use in high temperature environments, the thermal overload protection circuit may have become activated. If so, please wait 10 minutes and try the power on again. 4. Emptying of Pre-tank - To empty the pre-tank, turn the cart handle upward to the right, raising the head of the pre-tank slightly. Then gently slide the bucket off of the cart for emptying. Reverse these steps to install the emptied bucket. Please be sure that the bucket is properly positioned under the head of the pre-tank before turning the lever to secure it. Without proper positioning of the head you will have vacuum leakage and improper operation of the unit. 5. Emptying of Internal Tank - To empty the internal tank, first open the door by rotating the black knob counterclockwise untill the door is free. Then rotate the lever clockwise one-quarter turn to lower and release the bucket. Then gently slide the bucket out for emptying. When reversing these steps for reinstallation, please be sure that the bucket is properly positioned so as not to cause a vacuum leak. 6. Shaker Operation - This Vacuum is equiped with a shaker mechanism to help clear the filters when they clogged. Before and after each use, the shaker knob should be moved up and down vigorously ten times. This will ensure that your Power-Vac will deliver its full performance for many years of trouble-free use. Maintenance 1. Changing Filters - Filters are designed to provide long service life. However, depending upon usage and the type of materials vacuumed, they may need replacement every one to three years. Replace tube filter elements as follows:

a. Unscrew the black knob on the top of the shaker bar. b. Remove the internal bucket as previously instructed. c. Unscrew 3 nuts of RP-116 / RP-430 or 4 nuts of RP-546 from the filter plate (located inside from where the bucket was removed.) d. Slide down the entire filter plate, filter assembly and shaking bar as one piece together. If necessary, remove the filter case gasket. e. Remove the clips and fasteners from the shaker bar and set the bar aside. f. Remove the filter tubes and replace with new ones. g. Reassemble and reinstall by reversing these steps. 2. Lubrication - No lubrication is necessary. However, certain parts of the compressor assembly are subject to wear and should be replaced as necessary, depending upon operating conditions.
