IMPORTANT If you do require service, only your authorized American Crescent Elevator Distributor has been factory trained with the proper equipment and genuine American Crescent Elevator replacement parts needed to accurately repair your elevator. They are skilled to provide you the finest quality service. Whether it's Sales, Service, or Installation... American Crescent Elevator Makes The Difference. Familiarize yourself with the location and function of all controls before using your ELEVATOR. Description 1. In Car Control Station Optional Key Switch. If equipped, the key switch, in the OFF position limits the use of the elevator to authorized persons. When in the ON position, the landing buttons are operable. (See Figure A). 2. Floor Selection Buttons. The button controls are located for easy reach. They control UP and DOWN movement of the cab. Depressing the desired button moves the cab to that landing. The cab will automatically stop when the cab reaches the landing. (Some cabs are equipped with constant pressure buttons. The cab will stop any time the button is released.) (See Figure A). 1

3. Light Switch. The light switch turns the cab's lights ON and OFF. (Some cabs are equipped with a timer to automatically turn the light ON when the hoistway door is opened or OFF when inactive). (See Figure A). 4. Emergency Stop Button. This button when depressed will automatically stop the cab and sound the alarm in the event of an emergency. Button must be reset to reactivate control usage. (See Figure A). 5. Emergency Alarm Button. This button when depressed will automatically sound the alarm. (See Figure A). 6. Handrail. A single handrail is mounted to the cab wall. (See Figure A). In Car Station (Figure A) 7. Landing Controls. Control buttons are installed at all landings to move the cab to the landing from which you are calling. The call button will flash if one of the landing doors or car gate has been left open. The cab will NOT move until all doors and car gates are closed. If equipped with a key switch, turn the key to the ON position before pressing the call button. (See Figure B). 2

Landing Control (Figure B) 8. Hoistway Door Interlock. An interlock is provided for each hoistway door. This prevents movement of the cab unless the doors are closed and locked. (See Figure C.) 9. Emergency Door Release. A special key enables the door's release from the outside in case of power failure. Doors should only be opened when the cab is at that particular landing. (See Figure C.)! Warning Always make sure the elevator is at the proper floor level before the door is opened. 3

Hoistway Door Interlock (Figure C) 10. Telephone. A telephone is provided for your convenience. On some units the phone is mounted inside a cabinet. (See Figure A). 11.
