1. MPS Base to Base Interface Bolt Replacement A. Remove MPS Tray, Foot Rest Assembly, and Arm Rests. B. Lower seat to floor by engaging pedal. (Weight in the seat may be needed to assist with lowering) C. Remove tilt release-head bolt. (Requires: 4mm Allen, 10mm Crescent Wrench) 1.C D. Rotate seat forward until seat touches floor. 1.D 1

1. MPS Base to Base Interface Bolt Replacement (cont.) E. Raise the seat slightly so seat sits naturally at three points (Head Support and Armrest Supports) with all 4 wheels on the ground. This will assist with reassembly. (Tapping pedal once should level the seat) F. Unscrew Interface Bolt (Requires: 6mm Allen Wrench) 1.F G. Replace Interface Bolt with Provided Replacement Bolt Assembly. (Requires: 6mm Allen Wrench.) * Steps A through F (removing right and left interface bolts which removes the seat from base) are necessary to complete other repair and calibration procedures. 2

2. 4-Bar Bolt Replacement A. Remove the entire seat from base. (Refer to Procedure 1) B. Remove desired 4-Bar Bolt. (Requires: 4mm Allen, 10mm Crescent Wrench) C. Replace with provided Bolt Assembly Hardware. (Requires: 4mm Allen, 10mm Crescent Wrench) * Steps A through C (removing desired 4-Bar Bolt) are necessary to complete other repair and calibration procedures.! CAUTION: 4-Bars with Assist Pistons are under tension. 3

3. Assist Piston Replacement A. Remove the entire seat from base. (Refer to Procedure 1) B. Remove desired 4-Bar Bolt. (Refer to Procedure 2) 3.B C. Use pry tool to release one piston head from ball joint by slightly lifting the retaining band as show below (do not completely remove retaining band). (Requires: Pry Tool) 3.C D. Repeat step C on the other release-head to remove piston. (Requires: Pry Tool) E. Attach new piston at lower ball joint by snapping head onto ball (piston head down). (No tool required) 4

3. Assist Piston Replacement (cont.) F. 1. Attach Release-head to ball joint. 2. Using leverage of 4-Bar, push down to compress piston and align 4-Bar with yoke holes. 3.F 1 2 G. Replace 4-Bar Bolt with provided Bolt Assembly. (Note: Piston tension may make this difficult for 1 person) 3.G H. Bolt may need to be hammered in with rubber mallet, be careful not to break plastic washers. (Note: A second person pressing down on the 4-Bar will help relieve tension and assist in this procedure) 5

4. Tilt Piston Replacement and Calibration A. Remove the entire seat from base. (Refer to Procedure 1) B. Remove tilt piston attachment bolt. (Requires: 4mm Allen, 10mm Crescent Wrench) 4.B C. Engage Lock Pin to secure Tilt Lever in place. 4.C 6

4. Tilt Piston Replacement and Calibration (cont.) D. 1. Unscrew release-head assembly. 2. Jam-nut may need to be loosened. (Requires: 14mm Crescent Wrench) 4.D 1 2 E. Install jam-nut and release-head assembly onto new piston. Screw release-head onto new piston until lever comes in contact with release pin. (Do not over-tighten) 4.E NEW PISTON F. Bind jam-nut up against release-head to secure position. (Requires: 14mm Crescent Wrench) G. To align mounting holes turn piston head assembly (piston stem should turn without the releasehead tightening/loosening). * Step D (removing release-head assembly) is necessary to complete other repair and calibration procedures. 7

5. Tilt Lever Assembly Replacement and Calibration A. Remove the entire seat from base. (Refer to Procedure 1) B. Remove the release-head assembly from piston (Refer to Procedure 4). Lever can now be removed from release-head by disengaging the Tilt Lock Pin. 5.B C. Replace lever by inserting into release-head as shown. Reengage lock pin to hold lever in place. 5.C NEW LEVER D. Follow steps E through G from Procedure 4 to reattach release-head assembly. 8

6. Lift Piston Replacement and Calibration A. Complete Steps A through F from Procedure 1 to remove the entire seat from base. B. Remove attachment bolt for the Lift Piston at Yoke End. (Requires: 4mm Allen, 10mm Crescent Wrench) 6.B C. Loosen jam-nut to allow piston to be unscrewed from release-head. (Requires: 14mm Crescent Wrench) D. Turn piston to remove it from release-head. E. Screw jam-nut on new piston. F. Thread piston into Release-head. Turn piston until stem pin touches the pedal inside the releasehead. 6.F 9

6. Lift Piston Replacement and Calibration (cont.) G Rotate back off the pedal to line up the mounting holes on the canister end to the release-head end. H. Lock the pedal with the Lift Lock Pin and depress the pedal. If the piston releases despite the lock being engaged, stop immediately and turn the piston back about ½ turn and test again. The pedal should not wobble in place, but also be lose enough to the pin that it cannot engage the piston with the lock in position. I. Once desired piston behavior is met back the jam-nut into the release-head to lock position. (Requires: 14mm Crescent Wrench) J. Turn canister of piston to align both mounting holes if they do not already. Turning the canister should not turn the stem if jam-nut is secured properly. K. Reattach mounting bolts to the yoke to secure the piston in place. (Requires: 4mm Allen, 10mm Crescent Wrench) 10

7. Foot Pedal Assembly Replacement and Calibration A. Remove attachment bolt. (Requires: 4mm Allen, 10mm Crescent Wrench) 7.A 7.B B. Disengage Lift Lock (shown above). (If the needs to be calibrated/replaced continue procedure. If not, proceed to step D) C. Unscrew Lift Lock Pull Pin from Mounting Tab. Jam-nuts may need to be loosened if replacement is needed. 7.C D. Remove Pedal and replace with provided replacement part. (Requires: 18mm Crescent Wrench) E. Reattach the attachment bolt assembly. (Requires: 4mm Allen, 10mm Crescent Wrench) 11

7. Foot Pedal Assembly Replacement and Calibration (cont.) F. If pin needs replacement and/or calibration. Replace lock pin and nuts. End of pin should be positioned so that in the unlock position, the pin clears the pedal (shown below). Tighten jam-nuts to secure pin position. (Requires: 18mm Crescent Wrench) 7.F 8. Caster Replacement A. Place Product on its side with desired caster off the ground. B. Remove Caster from product. Use wrench on part A below.
