PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION INSTALLATION PREPARATION Before starting installation 1. Familiarize yourself with the installation instructions. 2. Inspect kit components to verify everything is present, there is no damage, and to familiarize yourself with the parts. VEHICLE PREPARATION 1. Place protective coverings on vehicle. Negative Battery Cable 2. Apply protective tape to all points before prying. 3. "IMPORTANT...IMPORTANT" Disconnect Negative Battery Cable INSTALLATION: 1. Open the lift gate. Using a nylon trim tool, disengage the clips to remove the lift gate center trim garnish. 2. Remove the screw as pictured on the lift gate side garnish trim panel. Repeat for the opposite side. Page 5 of 13

3. Carefully pull on the tailgate left and right side plaques to disengage the clips. Disconnect any connectors and remove the tailgate left and right side garnish. 4. Remove the screws on the interior lift gate door panel. 5. Carefully disengage the claws to remove the screw covers on the lift gate pull handle. Remove the screws securing the handle to the lift gate structure. 6. Disengage the claws and remove the lift gate pull handle. Page 6 of 13

7. Using a screwdriver, carefully remove the plastic trim clip on the lift gate, near the latch. 8. Disengage the claws and remove the cover for the lift gate mounting screw. Remove the screw. 9. Using a nylon trim tool, carefully disengage the clips and remove the lift gate interior door panel. 10. Using a helper or supporting brace, support the lift gate in the full opened position. 11. Using a pry tool, remove the lower clip on the end of the OEM gas support struts for the lift gate. Exercise caution when removing the support struts, as the lift gate is very heavy once removed. Page 7 of 13

12. Remove the OEM strut clip from the ball mount on the RH side of the lift gate. Remove the strut from the vehicle and set aside. 13. Repeat for the LH side. 14. Remove the OEM lower support strut brackets from the body structure. Replace with the new brackets supplied in the kit, reusing the OEM bolts. Note: Transfer the gasket from the OEM bracket to the new bracket before installing (if applicable). 15. Install the Power Lift Gate Lift Motors onto the ball mounts with the wire harness facing downwards, where the body meets the tailgate. Note the LEFT and RIGHT orientation as marked on the lift motors. 16. Carefully route the wire harness from the lift motor through the grommet and into the tailgate, as pictured. Route the wire harnesses to the control box, following the factory wiring harnesses where possible. 17. Remove the screw and the hood lock release lever from the driver's side kick panel. Page 8 of 13

18. Install the CAN-Bus module in the driver's side kick panel. 19. Locate the main power connector as pictured. Using the supplied T-Harness, disconnect the OEM connector from the fuse block. Plug the T-Harness into the fuse block, and the OEM connector into the female connector in the T- Harness. 20. Connect the ground wire to the factory ground point, located in the driver's side kick panel area. 21. Route the main wiring harness towards the rear of the vehicle, underneath the scuff plates. Follow the factory wiring harness, securing with cable ties as necessary along the routing path. Page 9 of 13

22. Locate the OBDII connector. Disconnect the connector from it's mounting location and connect into the supplied T-Harness. Mount the T-Harness connector into the factory location. 23. Route the power cable through the main wire tubing towards tailgate. 24. Install the main control module onto the door frame with the clamp bracket, as pictured. Verify the bracket is tight and does not cause any rattles or other undesirable effects in the lift gate. 25. Use the supplied T-Harness and connect the lift gate wiring harness to the power latch mechanism. Page 10 of 13

26. Connect wire clamp for unlock signal to OEM back button connector - RED WIRE. 27. Route the main wiring harness along the factory wiring harness towards the rear of the vehicle, underneath the scuff plate. 28. Continue routing the main wiring harness under the trunk floor, behind the panels up towards the headliner. Use a fish tape to assist in pulling the harness through the factory wiring boot. Note: Spraying a small amount of a soap/water solution inside the factory wiring boot will allow the harness to pull through easily. 29. Mount the supplied front open/close button to the driver's side lower dash, as pictured. 30. Mount the supplied rear open/close button to the lift gate interior door panel, as pictured. Page 11 of 13

31. Reinstall the interior lift gate interior trim panel. 32. Reinstall all of the interior panels removed during the installation, testing thoroughly any switches or electronics disconnected during the installation process. 33. IMPORTANT: Prior to closing, ensure door panel is re-installed. Manually close the lift gate to initialize the Power Lift Gate System. Function test the system to verify proper operation.
