THE CROWN COMMERCIAL SERVICE FRAMEWORK In December 2014, Volvo was appointed to the new Crown Commercial Service Vehicle Purchase Framework (RM1070). We are represented in both Lot 1: Passenger cars and Lot 7: Bluelight vehicles. This framework supports government policy to centrally manage the procurement of common goods and services by the UK Public Sector through an integrated commercial function. RM1070 is fully EU compliant and provides easy access to Volvo cars, saving your organisation time and money. As part of the framework agreement, we ll provide management information to help you manage your spend effectively and intelligently. We ll also supply management information to Crown Commercial Service enabling them to identify further savings opportunities for the Public Sector. 2

NEW HIGH PERFORMANCE DIESEL ENGINES From April, Volvo will be offering the new Euro 6, D5 engine in both V60 and XC70 Emergency Specification models for the UK. This brand new engine is one of the Volvo designed and built family of VEA 2.0 Drive-E engines. It replaces the current D5 engine, which was launched some 12 years ago. Boasting improved power, fuel economy and CO2 emission, the new engine is both lighter and smaller than its predecessor. The V60 comes in FWD, while the XC70 comes in AWD. In addition, the V60 D5 FWD boasts an 8-speed automatic gearbox, while the XC60 D5 AWD features a 6-speed automatic gearbox. 4
5 MILLION PUBLIC SECTOR FUNDING FOR LOW EMISSION VEHICLES In January, the government announced a further 5 million worth of funding to support the growth of low emission vehicles. As part of a drive to get electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles into the fleets of central government, organisations including the police, fire services and the NHS will be able to test their ULEV-readiness. Transport Minister Baroness Kramer said: We want the Public Sector to lead by example. This 5 million investment will see a significant increase in the number of plug-in vehicles used by public bodies such as local authorities, police forces and the NHS and help both the environment and the economy. NEW D4 ENGINE FOR EMERGENCY SPECIFICATION V70 Volvo has recently launched the Euro 6, Drive-E D4 powertrain in the Emergency Specification V70 model both FWD and AWD modes. This new engine is the first of the new 4-cylinder, 2.0 litre VEA engines to be released. A combination of impressive size and carrying capacity with outstanding performance figures helps to satisfy the demanding requirements of Emergency Services. PETROL ENGINES MAKE A RETURN Volvo will shortly be launching the new T5 245 hp engine for the UK police market. Introduced in the V40 and V40 Cross Country last year, the new engine will be offered in both the V70 and V60 police models. The previous T5 engine was extremely popular with police users, due to its excellent performance and reliability. The new Volvo 4-cylinder, 2.0 litre VEA Euro 6 engine will add improved fuel economy and reduced servicing costs to an already impressive performance. The engines are both smaller and lighter than the engines they replace, with no compromise on horsepower. 7
VOLVO DOG CAR TURNKEY Following the development of a factory-built dog car for the Swedish Police, Volvo have now introduced this solution for the UK market based on the V70 / XC70 platform. Volvo worked closely with the Swedish Police Force to develop a larger twin cage, with improved ventilation and sound proofing. The cage is also easier to remove and clean. Naturally, we have taken into account the new UK specification for dog cars in our UK design, which allows for the rear seats to be used or replaced with additional storage. 8
VOLVO ON CALL Volvo On Call is a support option available to purchase with any Volvo car. It has a number of applications that are of real value to Emergency Service users. Whether you ve got a flat tyre, have broken down, or been involved in an accident, we re here to help. Some of the key elements of Volvo On Call are: Roadside Assistance Push the Volvo On Call button or use your mobile app to speak to an operator, who will send assistance to your GPS location. Emergency Support Press the SOS button, located in the overhead console, whenever there s an emergency and you ll get help right away. Automatic Collision Alert When a collision is detected, your Volvo alerts a trained operator to contact the vehicle and send emergency service. Theft Alert Volvo On Call is alerted if there is a suspicious entry into your car. If it s stolen, we ll use your car s GPS to find or immobilise it. In addition, by using our free Volvo On Call smartphone app, you can control your car remotely: Check Your Car Access your car s dashboard, plus get your door lock status, fuel level, maintenance warnings and more. Driving Journal Log your start/end positions, distance, duration and fuel consumption, then download the detailed data to Excel. Find Your Car See your car on a map and get directions, or instruct it to honk and flash for quick location. Lock Your Car Lock and unlock your car remotely. You can also check if windows and doors are open or closed. 9
NEW AWD CROSS COUNTRY VARIANTS FOR V60 AND S60 Volvo Cars unveiled the long-awaited Cross Country version of its successful V60 sportswagon at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November 2014. The V60 and S60 Cross Country will be offered in the UK with the D4 AWD engine (as well as D3 FWD, D4 FWD). Compared to the V60, ground clearance has increased by 65 mm, and a rugged design (skid plates front and rear, side scuff plates and bumper extenders) is coupled with an enhanced sporty driving experience, thanks to torque vectoring technology and corner traction control. Prices and specification will be announced and orders will be able to be placed during Quarter 2 of 2015. Production will commence for UK placed orders in May and deliveries are expected to start from late June. 10
