2) Attach Feet To Scale Base (at four load cells) Screw in each foot, all the way to stop, but DO NOT TIGHTEN Foot and load cell Foot screwed in to stop 5
3) Open Up Front Of Check-in Counter Cabinet Access check-in counter by opening front panel(s). Consult with airline personnel for method of access and any special considerations regarding the access method. Locate 110 VAC power supply.! IMPORTANT Consult airline personnel for method of accessing cabinet front! CAUTION! Securely brace any opened panels!! Accessing counter (typical) 6
4) Position The Control Module And Run Wiring Position the control module generally in the area indicated in the diagram below. 6) Connect Wiring, Power Up And Test Connect wires leading from the Control Module to: - Displays - Keypad - 110 VAC Connect signal cable from the load cell to the Control Module Power up at the keypad Check system for: - both displays illuminated - place weight on scale and observe displays - at keypad, test for lb/kg function Zero Scale function Accumulated weight function 9
7) Mount Scale Base and Connect Ground Wire Confirm that the scale base is centered in the bag well Adjust the feet to level the platform, making sure it does not rock Drill two shallow 1 8 holes at each foot location. MAKE SURE TO AVOID CONTACTING THE LOAD CELLS WHILE DRILLING! CONNECT GROUND WIRE: Attach the green grounding wire from the summing junction box to one of the mounting screws securing the feet, making sure that a solid connection is made from the ground wire to the stainless steel bag well.! ATTENTION!! A SOLID GROUNDING CONNECTION MUST BE MADE! Centering the scale base in the bag well! CAUTION! LOAD CELL DESTRUCTION! Contacting a load cell with the electric drill while mounting will DESTROY THE LOAD CELL! AVOID CONTACTING THE LOAD CELL WITH THE ELECTRIC DRILL. Mounting the scale base in the bag well 10
8) Mount Display Modules And Keypad Module Keypad mounting requires use of the included angle bracket, as shown below. Use pliers to turn back bracket after installation as shown below. Displays can be mounted using brackets as shown, or by industrial-strength adhesive back Grip-Lock Velcro on underside of display and on top of bag well wall.! NOTE! Use #8 rubber caps to cover the ends of the two screw studs on the displays. NO SHARP EDGES. Mounting detail for keypad and display NOTE: keypad mounting bracket turned back, leaving NO SHARP EDGES EXPOSED 11
9) Secure All Wiring Use adhesive back pads and tie wraps to secure wiring to the counter surfaces. Wiring being secured, before trim off of tie wraps NOTE: photo shows scale base wiring routed on surface of bag well and secured with tie wraps and mounting pads. Many locations will allow wiring to be routed under the bag well, which is preferred. Also, if surface mounting is required, use of the plastic conduit is preferred over the example shown. Examples of wiring secured with adhesive back mounting bases and tie wraps. NO SHARP EDGES. 12
10) Place Stainless Platform On Scale Base And Perform Final Test Of System Place the stainless steel platform on the scale base.
