Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the "Accessory Installation Practices" document. This document covers such items as:- Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.). Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.). Please see your Toyota dealer for a copy of this document. 1. Vehicle Protection Ratchet, 10mm Socket Negative Battery Cable (a) Remove the negative battery cable (Fig. 1-1). (1) Protect the fender before starting. (2) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tools when removing the cable. Fig. 1-1 Battery 2. Disassembly of Vehicle NOTE: Place all removed parts on a protected surface. NOTE: When disconnecting wiring connectors do NOT pull on the wiring, pull on the connector only. NOTE: Engage the parking brake while working. Instrument panel cluster finish center panel Claw Clips ( 5) (a) Remove the instrument panel cluster finish center panel. (1) Disengage the 2 stoppers and tilt the glove compartment door assembly to the horizontal position (Fig. 2-7). Meter cluster panel Claws ( 8) (n) Remove the meter cluster panel. (1) Disengage the 8 claws and remove the meter cluster panel (Fig. 2-14). NOTE: <Large pieces> Used to bundle excess GPS antenna cord, wire harness (Reverse / Park brake) and microphone cord. <Middle pieces> Used to fix the vehicle video cable. Used to wrap around the 8P connector from the vehicle video cable. Used to bundle excess customer video cable. <Small pieces> Used to fix the GPS antenna cord. Used to fix the wire harness. Used to fix the microphone cord. Used to fix the Bluetooth antenna cord. Used to wrap around the customer video cable. 4. GPS antenna installation Release paper Earth plate Front (a) Install and route the GPS antenna. NOTE: Before attaching the butyl tape, wipe any dirt, water or oil off the attachment surface with VDC approved cleaner. Butyl tape M ( 2) Bracket Air conditioning duct Earth plate (1) Remove the release paper from the earth plate and the butyl tape, and apply butyl tape to the bottom of the earth plate (Fig. 4-1). 60mm (2) Attach the earth plate onto the air conditioning duct (Fig. 4-1). GPS antenna (4) Fix the GPS antenna cord to the air conditioning duct with a cord clamp and foam tape S (Fig. 4-2). 5. Microphone installation NOTE: Set the steering wheel in the Tilt Down / Telescopic stretch position. Scissors Cord rail 20mm 40mm (a) Install the cord rail. NOTE: If the room temperature is 50 F or below, warm up the tape and the attachment part. When the tape and the attachment part are both 68 F or above when attaching, the initial bond strength will be enhanced. (2) Remove the release paper from the cord rails and attach the cord rails to the upper steering column cover (Fig. 5-2). (b) Install the microphone. Microphone cord Protection sheet (150 20mm) (2) Wrap the protection sheet around the microphone cord from the end of the cord rail so as to not leave a gap between the cord rail and the protection sheet (Fig. 5-4). <Side view> (3) Remove the microphone cord from the cord rails (Fig. 5-4). (1) Cut the SPD signal wire (Violet / White) from the wire harness to the length (approx. 50mm) shown in the illustration (Fig. 6-1). (2) Wrap the SPD signal wire (Violet / White) with vinyl tape as shown in the illustration (Fig. 6-1). NOTE: It is not necessary to connect the SPD signal wire (Violet / White) from the wire harness. REV signal wire (Green) Vehicle wire harness (b) Route the wire harness. (1) Route the REV signal wire (Green) from the wire harness, along the vehicle wire harness to the vicinity of the combination meter (Fig. 6-2). (c) Temporarily route the REV signal wire. (1) Temporarily route the REV signal wire (Green) from the wire harness along the vehicle wire harness (Fig. 6-3). (e) Be careful not to bend the customer video cable jack with the Owner s Manual etc.

Checklist - these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Check: Accessory Function Checks Press the AV button and check that the AV MENU screen appears. Look For: Check that AM and FM broadcasts sound from each speaker. Radio antenna connection is ok Touch the Volume button and check that the volume level displayed on the volume screen changes accordingly. Press the MAP button and check that the map screen appears. Touch and scroll the map displayed on the screen and check that the map can be scrolled. Check for the GPS icon on display when under open sky. GPS antenna connection is ok. Using the Brightness / Contrast function, check that the illumination intensity changes correctly on the display. Connect the USB checker to the USB & AUX BOX and check that the speaker emits sound. USB connector connection is ok. Check that sound is emitted using a CD. Connect an external video player to the customer video cable and check that the video is displayed (PKB must be engaged for this check). Video cable connection is ok. Page 33 of 35 pages
