3 Operation The type KSV is a ceramic valve for on / off and control applications in highly abrasive and corrosive environments such as suspensions. The basic principle of this valve is based on the floating ball sealing against the downstream seat using the differential pressure as sealing force. Both seats are fixed (stationary) while the ball has a predetermined float-space. The ceramic components are embedded into a metal housing which absorbs the physical torque and vibration resulting from the pipeline. The quarter turn motion of the ball (0-90) yields in a specific valve opening. The geometrical shape of the ball allows for different control characteristics in function of process requirements. The ball valve has a three-part-body design. This allows direct connection to existing pipelines while optimising flow and control characteristics (larger opening angles thanks to a reduced central bore). Actuator connection is done by yoke and adapter. All kinds of quarter turn pneumatic, hydraulic and electric actuators can be used. Manual operation with hand lever is also available. See specific eventual appendix for other types. 3 Operation The CERA VALVE type KSC is a fully ceramic lined ball valve for control- as well as for on / off- applications in highly corrosive, abrasive and toxic environments in which no metal housing or / and trim materials would be resistant. Housing can optionally be double walled and stem packing options such as V-type collar or multiple sealing systems are available. The basic principle is based on the floating ball. The seats are rigid (fixed), while the ball has a defined clearance (idle) and is pressed by the differential pressure against the downstream seat, sealing on it. The quarter turn motion of the ball yields a specific valve opening. The geometrical shape of the ball-bore (triangular V-port, round ) allows for various flow characteristics in function of process requirements. This ball valve has a three-part body design. These valves are available with hand-lever and gear box as well as with pneumatic-, electric- and hydraulic actuators. Actuator mounting is done by yoke and adapter. 3 Operation The CERA VALVE type KSL is a partially ceramic on / off valve made for moderate corrosive and abrasive environments. It is preferred to equip this valve type with a steel ball (ceramic ball is an option). The center-body has ceramic protection (no liner nor socket). The basic principle of this valve is based on the floating ball sealing against the downstream seat using the differential pressure as sealing force. Both seats are fixed (stationary) while the ball has a predetermined float-space. The ball passage (bore shape) is always round. It is a ball valve with a three-piece body design. In general it has no bore reductions, however adjustments to pipeline size and flow characteristics are possible. Actuator connection is done by yoke and adapter. All kinds of quarter turn pneumatic, hydraulic and electric actuators can be used. Manual operation with hand lever is also available.
