Trellex Belt Conductor provides automated supervision of conveyor belt centring thus relieving the staff of much of the time-consuming manual supervision and adjusting. Align your belts and boost profitability Trellex Belt Conductor is one of many conveyor components available from Metso for reliable and economic conveying. Wear caused by misalignment can prematurely put a conveyor out of operation. Loading point misalignment, side winds, rain/snow and uneven absorption of heat from the sun, just to mention a few examples, can interfere with the operation of conveyors. This is where our Belt Conductor enters the scene. This belt guiding system can prolong the life of a conveyor and improve reliability under severe conditions. The result is lower costs and increased availability. Active, continuous belt control With active control and guiding of the belts, maintenance costs can be cut considerably. The belt guiding system protects vital parts of the conveyor frame from damage. Less wear on the belt increases life and reduces costs. A misaligned belt causes point loading of rollers. A frozen roller can slice a belt in minutes. A centered belt causes less wear and fewer break-downs. This minimizes the risk of costly, unscheduled repair stoppages and increases availability. Load and transfer point spillages are reduced with the Belt Conductor. The result is increased profits due to higher throughput. It is important to have a good working environment. A belt guiding system from Metso contributes to a better working environment and reduces the cost for cleanup. Adjustable to various belt widths and types Trellex Belt Conductor is easily adjusted to suit various belt widths. The medium duty model is suitable for belt widths between 500 and 1200 mm (20" and 48"). For wider belts an extra long axle must be used. Our Belt Conductor can be installed on most types of belts. The sensitivity can easily be altered by changing the angle between control arms. Easy to install Trellex Belt Conductor features a simple design for fast and easy installation, ensuring minimum downtime. For simple installation, the angle between the arms has been preset to fit most conveyor belt types. The Belt Conductor is an efficient solution to your belt alignment problem, and is designed to work under severe conditions with a minimum of moving parts.
Trellex Conveyor Belt Guiding System Medium Duty Belt Conductor Heavy Duty Belt Conductor Trellex Medium Duty Belt Conductor A centered belt is one precondition if the sealing system at the loading point is to work effectively. Reducing spillage increases revenue and provides a better work environment. The Belt Conductor is mounted on the return run of the belt and provides active restraint and constant control of the belt. This avoids damage to the edge of the belt and important parts of the frame. The edge rollers of the Belt Conductor sense any mistracking of the belt and the control roller centers the belt. Eliminated risk of pinching, combined with minimal friction, result in a virtually maintenance-free solution. Trellex Heavy Duty Belt Conductor This is based on the same basic design as the medium duty model but more robust for heavier applications. The Heavy Duty Belt Conductor is suitable for steel cord belts and for belt speeds of more than 3.5 m/s. The larger the belt and the higher the speed, the more quickly damage occurs and the higher the costs become. The Heavy Duty Belt Conductor provides great savings in the form of reduced wear and tear on the belt, rollers and conveyor frame. It also increases availability by reducing the risk of unplanned down time. Like the other models, it is easy to assemble and is practically maintenance-free. A belt entering the tail pulley, centered, leaves it centered! The centering of a belt moving on the return side of a conveyor is easier due to the lower belt tension. This is why the Trellex Belt Conductor is installed on the return part of the conveyor, ahead of the tail pulley. This position ensures that the belt is centered when reaching the loading point. This is very important to avoid problems with mistracking due to off-center loading. The Belt Conductor is an active guiding system keeping the belt This is how Trellex Belt Conductor works automatically and continuously centered. Guide rollers are mounted to control arms which sense lateral movement of the belt and adjust the steering roller to guide the belt back on track. Mistracking is automatically corrected by a minor adjustment of the steering roller angle. This eliminates belt edge damage, which frequently occurs when high force systems with fixed guide rollers are used.
Trellex Reversible Belt Conductor puts an end to mistracking on bi-directional conveyors Solving chronic manintenance problems The greatest problems with mistracking belts normally appear on reversing conveyors. Most methods used on conveyors running in one direction only do not work well in this situation. In fact the result might be the opposite when belt direction switches. The Belt Conductor takes care of a constantly recurring maintenance problem, reduces operating costs and increases conveyor availability. Less wear on conveyor parts Mistracking belts cause damage to the belt edge, rollers and the conveyor frame. By reducing the belts lateral movement the risk of damage is reduced and overall operating economy is improved. Aligned belts boost profitability The best evidence of how well the Trellex Belt Conductor works is found at the tail pulley. Because the belt moves from side to side, the pulley surface becomes "polished" in a sense. After the Belt Conductor has been installed, belt mistracking has been reduced and rust will form within a couple of weeks.
Trellex Conveyor Belt Guiding System The compact design makes it possible to install the Reversible Belt Conductor even on conveyors where space is limited. Less spillage and reduced clean-up costs Trellex Belt Conductor is constantly sensing and adjusting the belt path, which leads to less spillage. The work environment is improved and clean up cost is reduced. By keeping the transported material on the belt, plant throughput and profitability are improved. Easy installation, minimal down-time Metso has developed a Belt Conductor that is very easy to install. The Belt Conductor is designed to handle well under tough conditions. The Belt Conductor is adjustable for a wide variety of belt widths up to 1200 mm (48 ). For wider belts the only thing needed is a couple of longer axles. This is how Trellex Reversible Belt Conductor works The Reversible Belt Conductor is mounted on top of the belt on the return run. The steering roller should be installed on the same level as the rest of the return rollers to achieve correct contact pressure. On short conveyors the Belt Conductor is normally installed half way between pulleys. On longer conveyors more units may be required. Pairs of edge rollers detect the slightest deviation from the ideal belt path. The linkage on either side tilts the Belt Conductor and the steering roller pushes the belt edge down, creating a force aimed towards the center-line of the belt that guides it back on track.
Steering roller with Trellex Roller Sleeve Steering roller with Trellex Roller Sleeve Trellex Roller Sleeve is an elastic rubber sleeve that is recommended for use with the Belt Conductor steering roller. The correction of the belt path is achieved by tilting the steering roller. To get maximum steering effect the roller should have a rubber coating to get the highest possible coefficient of friction. The elasticity of the rubber counteracts the build-up of material on the roller thus preventing misalignment. The rubber also protects the roller against corrosion and wear, lengthening the service life and reducing the risk of damage to the belt. Trellex Roller Sleeve is simple to install using an adapter and compressed air. Guide Roller snap-on sleeves Trellex guide roller sleeves are made of our wear-resistant ESA78 polyurethane material, providing a long service life. Wear on the shell of the roller is eliminated and the life of the roller is extended. Damage to the belt edge due to worn through edge rollers can be avoided. The sleeves have a snap-on fixing, making installation simple and quick. Trellex guide roller snap-on sleeve Lubrication system Maintenance is important. It is especially important in the tough environment where these products are used. That is why we have developed a lubrication system for the Belt Conductor. It makes maintenance a lot easier, extends the useful wear life and secures the function. Installation is simple. The kit comes complete with nipples, grease filled hoses and a block that should be located in an easily accessable location on the conveyor frame. By installing the lube kit, the work environment, as well as safety conditions are greatly improved. At the same time, the lubrication process is simplified. A complete lubrication kit
