6 RX 50 ELECTRIC FORKLIFT TRUCKS. Drive. The 24 volt 3phase drive motor ats diretly on the steered rear wheel of the RX 50 and ensures high performane apability and driving dynamis. The 3phase drive (ASM Tehnology) provides rapid aeleration and high gradeability. Beause it is totally enlosed and there are no arbon brushes, the drive motor is maintenanefree. The drive motor ats diretly on the rear steered wheel where there is a long turning radius, providing optimum drive effiieny. For frequent and tight urves, depending on the work yle, up to 30% less energy is onsumed than with twinmotor frontwheel drives. The drive is also suitable for freeing tightly wedged pallets in ontainers, wagons or lorries. Thanks to its eletrial regenerative braking the motor an feed bak up to 15% of the energy into the battery when the aelerator pedal is released, depending on the appliation, and thus inreases the useful work from a battery harge by up to 1.5 hrs. This means that intermediate harging or hanging of the battery is often not needed, or the use of a smaller battery might be possible. Wear free eletrial braking also leads to 90% less wear on the brake linings and further redues the maintenane osts. Sensitive driving with optimal energy utilisation is guaranteed by the STILL ontroller. This also makes it possible to hold the truk on a ramp without using the brakes, providing greater safety and driving onveniene. The drive ontroller is proteted within the ounterweight on whih it is diretly mounted. The heat from the ontroller is dissipated by the large area of the ounter weight. This arrangement gives very good ooling without additional fans and makes work agreeably quiet and reliable. Eletrial system. The eletrial system of the RX 50 is digital in operation with information exhange between the eletrial assemblies through a CAN bus system whih is already used suessfully in the automobile industry. The redution in the number of ables and plug onnetors improves the operational reliability and allows other eletrial equipment to be retrofitted easily using preinstalled terminals. Mast. The STILL lear view mast is supported high on the frame and onneted to the front axle at the bottom. Due to the wide spaing of these points the mast retains high rigidity with no twisting of the mast setion. Depending on the appliation, Telesopi, HiLo or Triplex designs are available. Telesopi suitable for many appliations, eonomial and gives a learview through the mast. HiLo supplements the Telesopi mast with an additional entral full free lift ylinder for high staking under low eilings, to utilise the spae right up to the roof. Triplex for appliations with low doorways but high staking heights to utilise the spae right up to the roof. The nested Ibeam mast setions with integral hoist ylinders and inline rear mounted lift hains, in onjuntion with the slim profile of the fork arriage, give exellent visibility. The hydrauli hoses are run in the dead visibility area of the mast setions with no hose reels for optimum visibility and wearfree operation, even with attahments. Moving front axle. The length of the wheelbase is altered by around 100 mm by means of a entrally loated ylinder ating on the front axle. This variable wheelbase gives the following advantages when extended: More driving omfort due to fewer roking movements and greater safety when transporting loads. Reliable transfer of the driving fore to the floor due to up to 56% greater ontat pressure on the rear wheel beause of the longer lever arm of the front axle. This is partiularly helpful when driving on ramps. Saves unneessary extra weight on the rear wheel by redistribution of weight and a larger radius of ation for lower energy onsumption from one battery harge. Benefits of a shorter wheelbase: Greater manoeuvrability for better utilisation of storage spae and less shunting.

7 Hydrauli system. Thanks to the STILL ontroller, the speed of the pump motor is regulated exatly, aording to demand, by the position of the valve lever or the steering wheel. This allows longer use from one battery harge. Sensitive operation of the hydraulis inreases the working safety due to highly aurate lifting. The pump draws the oil from the tank through a filter, so that all hydrauli units are supplied with lean oil. This redues the wear to a minimum. The hydraulis themselves also improve energy onsumption by: The high effiieny of the hydrauli pump even at low speeds (e.g. when steering). Bronze oated wear diss with very low frition properties seal the gears against the housing and guarantee a lossfree oil flow within the pump. By replaing the pressure relief type antiavitation valve with a load retaining valve, the pump does not have to overome a preset valve preload with a speifi hydrauli pressure. For example, when tilting without a load. The priority valve is diretly onneted to the pump so that hydrauli interfaes and hoses are not needed. Leakage is avoided and a safer, leaner operation guaranteed. The same applies to a pressure relief valve for attahments whih are loated diretly on the valve blok. Driver s ompartment. The low entry height, large footwell and inlined floor plate with antislip lining, ensure fast onvenient entry and exit, plus a relaxed leg position when driving. The smoothly adjustable steering olumn with its small steering wheel offers ergonomi adjustment for the driver, and redued steering movements.
