Frame Installation The KRONE PROFIL Monorail frame is a fully assembled item. The frame construction comprises one vertical powder coated sheet steel column, with punched slots and holes to facilitate the management of fixed cables. At the top and bottom of the vertical column are two horizontal mounting (angle) bars which have pre-drilled holes in both faces.
To the front of the frame there is a set of two vertical (PROFIL ) rods, which are used to mount the connection modules and accessories. The jumper management field is built into the construction of the vertical column. Offer the frame up to the Uni-Strut framework in the position designated. Align the pre drilled holes in the top and bottom angle mounting bars with the Uni Strut cross members and bolt through. Interconnection Module The interconnection modules supplied with this kit are 10 pair Disconnection modules of the type LSA- PLUS -NT for mounting on PROFIL mounting rods. These modules have all the functionality of the traditional LSA-PLUS Series 2 (237A) module but in a smaller format. Contacts in the grey moulding are for permanent wiring and white moulding for jumper wires.
Termination of Permanent Wiring Prepare incoming cables and separate into 10 pair groups in accordance with BT practices. Locate the Universal Outrigger on the PROFIL module. rods in the position to be used for the wired 10 pair Locate the 10 pair module is the Outrigger as shown.
Pass the10 pair wire group over the Outrigger and, under the module as shown, fanning out the 10 wire pairs using the fanning pegs on the base of the module. Pull each wire up so that it is located into the contact slot of the module in the correct contact position and protrudes past the slot by at least 12mm. Use the KRONE (IW2A) Termination Tool to press the wire into the contact, until it clicks to signify correct termination and cuts off the excess wire. Remove the wired module from the Outrigger Remove the Outrigger from the PROFIL rods. Push the wired module onto the PROFIL rods in the desired position.
Jumpering Arrangements The connections on the module for Jumper wiring are in the white moulding now facing the operator. To insert a jumper wire:- Route the wire from the left or right, of the module, through the jumper guides at each side and over the contact slots, approaching from below the module. Ensure that the wires lock into the slots and protrude by at least 12mm above the module. Jumper wires can be routed to the left or right of the module, or 5 pairs to the left and 5 pairs to the right Dress the loop of spare wire behind the module as required You will note that, at this stage, the permanent wiring is hidden by the next module located on the PROFIL rods. The portion of the module facing the operator is white and therefore the Jumper side connection. Terminate each wire in the manner previously described using the KRONE IW2A Insertion Tool. Run the terminated wire through the wire guide provided on each side of the module and into the frame jumper management field
Testing Due to the reduced size of the LSA-PLUS NT module, conventional LSA PLUS Test Plugs of the type normally carried by BT engineers will not fit the test access port in the face of the module. For this reason we have manufactured a 4 pole test lead with plugs at both ends that can be used in any manner required. Conventional Look both ways or monitor testing can now be carried out by inserting the 4 pole plug into the test access port in the white face (jumper side) of the module and the other end into a suitable test device. Header Labels These are used to define the function or route of a group of circuits. The label holders are simply clipped onto the PROFIL rods of the frame in the same manner as the modules. Cable Fixing Straps This item is used to support a bundle of cables in the same manner as a cable tie would be used. Slots are punched into the main vertical columns of the frame to accommodate these belts which can be used in any position necessary.
