Specifications/price list CMA CNC controlled gantry drilling machines type RAPID-DRILL GRD 32-42 CNC and GRD 50Z CNC This newly concepted drilling machine is designed for the fully automatic execution of drilling work in products with rather big outer dimensions. The X- (longitudinal), Y- (perpendicular) and Z-(vertical) movement (RPM, feed-rate and drill depth) are programmable on the centrally placed touch-screen control. The spindle delivers a wide range of variable speeds by means of an 8.9 kw A-synchronic motor. All axes are equipped with double, over-dimensioned, top quality (INA - THK), hardened and precision ground linear guides. The drilling-head movement is executed by an a-synchronic motor through an over dimensioned ball-screw system (The full head moved in Z-direction, not the spindle) with a stroke of 500 mm (19.685"). The drill head's feed-rate is variably adjustable. Because of this, short cycle times go hand in hand with long tool-life (for optimal cutting -conditions). Beside a standard drilling cycle, other sequences can be programmed like: jump-feed drilling for tube & profiles, deep-hole drilling with chip-breaking, counter sinking, tapping and flowdrilling (low feed-rate during warming up and subsequently a high feed-rate). OMRON CONTROL The control, in multiple aspects, is the heart of the machine. Because of that, it has to offer a combination of ease of working, precise and reliable. The Programming: Easy to program means several things: All applications have to be completely programmed in a simple fashion. During the programming, the operator should not be burdened by hundreds of possibilities to choose from and that he doesn't need for the job or that he needs to enter as routines that are superfluous because they don't play a roll. The control should only show the required functions that are needed and ask for the data needed to perform that function. In short: Just the required data, no more no less. To realize that, the software that lies behind the "interface" has to be open. This means that CMA, the manufacturer of these NC drilling machines, has the possibility to configure the software to a make a great fit for the operator. Based on specific operator suggestions, the software can be optimized. (Example: to add a function symbol, or a routine for a particular product run) The OMRON Control offers you these possibilities. Therefore, OMRON is not only CMA's preferred system, but also the end-user's preferred system. The machine's programming utility can be installed on an office PC or a Laptop to program the machine while it produces parts. Drive system, RPM range, Torque and Drilling capacities: The machines are available with 2 different spindle drive systems. This to offer you an optimal RPM and torque range for every job you want it to do. Executions: The GRD 42 and 32 respectively drill a max hole diameter of 42 or 32 mm and have a max RPM of 2000 or resp.3000 RPM with related torque ranges (or a custom speed range). This speed range has to be decided upon at moment of order. The GRD 50Z comes with a ZF gear box with 2 automatically shifting speed ranges. 50-1000 / 1000-4000. RD 42 CNC. 14 For mandatory safety guarding like fencing / light curtains with interlocked gates combined with an external control, be prepared to add additional budget Light-curtains on a sliding rail for operator protection incl. a so called "pendle" function of the actual light curtains. This to allow for a load unload situation on the one side of the gantry while the machine keeps working on the other side and vice versa. All based on a work area bed-height of 42". I you deviate from this height (and order a lower bed-height or put the machine in a pit) additional safety may be required. (Light curtains on fixed positions with additional fencing). Please inquire. Local safety regulators may advice you to do otherwise. Work and Safety Area Detectors on both sides along the gantry in Y-axis.
