Hydraulic workshop press Operating instructions Introduction BLITZ presses are a result of longlasting experience. The high quality standard as well as the superior concept guarantee reliability, high durability and economic operation. In order to avoid unnecessary damage or danger, you should read carefully and always observe these operating instructions. Application range of BLITZ hydraulic workshop presses BLITZ presses must only be used for pressing and demounting of ball bearings, bearing bushes, bolts and for common straightening and bending jobs in workshops. Use of the press for other purposes than the described one is not allowed. BLITZ presses are designed and built according to technical standard and approved regulations for technical security. Messrs. BLITZ M. Schneider, Werkzeug- und Maschinenfabrik GmbH will not accept any responsibility for damages resulting from misuse. The risk is entirely on the side of the user. Warranty and Liability Generally our General Conditions of Sale and Delivery are valid, which submitted at time of contracting. We do not accept responsibility if based on one or more of the following reasons: use of the press for other purposes than the intented one disregard of the operating instructions repairs carried out inexpertly use of non-original BLITZ spare parts use of accessories not supplied by BLITZ unauthorised technical alterations of the press without manufacturer s approval Safety / Accident Prevention The press must only be operated by persons who have read and understood this manual and who have completed the 18th year of life. Persons younger than 18 years are exceptionaly allowed to operate the press if this is necessary for their education. Safe working conditions have to be observed by an experienced person and only tools excluding injuries must be used. The instructions for use are constantly to be kept at the place of operation, thus being at hand at any time. In addition to the instructions for use, rules pertaining to other regulations i. e. accident prevention and environmental protection rules have to be observed. Prior to initial operation and later once a year the press has to be checked uppon technical faults by a skilled person. The result has to be written down on the enclosed sheet. The setup of the press must only be done when press is not in working position. The user of the press has to wear safety glasses during the operation. When using accessories not supplied by BLITZ we will not take any responsibility. Doing repair works switch off main power switch and cut compressed air supply (if available). Using oils and greases environmental- and safety- rules concerning these products have to be observed. Transport For transport of press only appropriate transport means must be used. Do not lift the press at the pump, the motor, the hydraulic zylinder or the press table. Weight of press vide technical data. Page 2 07/11 Ident-Nr. 116967
Hydraulic workshop press Operating instructions Installation Place press only on a solid base able to carry the weight. Fix the press with four screws 14 mm at the ground. You will find further informations for installation in the spare parts list. When using electrical presses you have to install a main power switch and an appropriate fuse. For dimensions of the fuse and current consumption vide technical data. When using electrical presses check the direction of rotation of the electric motor before initial operation by switching the press on and off. If motor is turning counterclockwise, change poles of connecting lines. When using presses with pneumatic quick lift compressed air is connected via a flexible tube at the service unit (3). Prior to initial operation check the oil level of hydraulic system before. Operation Warning! This press is not fit for deforming springy parts (e.g. pressure-, tension- or plate springs). The parts may fling out like a projectile and so cause serious injuries. This is also valid for thin, long mandrels. Use only plungers and mandrels fixed at the piston on one side. (Vide picture) Watch for centric position of ram and working point. Put large working pieces in such a way on the working table that no lateral forces will be transmitted to the floor, walls or other points outside the frame of the press. The working force of the press should be parallel to the area of plunger. Prism supports supplied must only be used like illustrated. Hand/Foot operation: Prior to start working make shure that release valve (2) is cosed. Ensure first that release valve (2) is closed. Using presses with pneumatic quick lift operate quick lift with button (4). Lower the piston by pumping hand (1) or foot pump until the required pressure is reached. To release and reset piston open release valve (2) until piston is pulled back completely. plunger mandrel Ident-Nr. 116967 07/11 Page 3
Hydraulic workshop press Operating instructions Electrical operation: Use operating switch underneath the control lever (8) to switch press on (position I ) Lifting and lowering of the plunger of the press is controlled with control lever (8). Use operating switch to switch off the press after use (position O ) Adjustment of press table: Warning! Operating the press without completely inserted bolts (5) may cause damage. Insert the bolts completely until stop is reached after every adjustment of press table. protect table from falling down remove bolts (5) adjust table at new height, if available use the table lift (6) insert bolts completely until stop reached relief tension from rope for table adjustment (turn handle of winch half rotation back) Maintenance Check oil level once a month using the oil bar on top of hydraulic tank. Change oil yearly. Using a press with compressed air conection drain condensate if necessary. Use hydraulic oil type 19-22 cst/20 C e.g. HLP 22 Technical data Model HPF HPF HPL HPE HPL HPE HPL HPE HPL HPE HPE 15 25 30-3 30-3 45-3 45-3 65-3 65-3 100-3 100-3 175-3 capacity (t) 15 25 30 30 45 45 65 65 100 100 175 stroke (mm) 150 150 200 200 250 250 250 250 250 250 250 speed (mm/s) 7,2 4,5 4,5 4,5 4,5 returning speed (mm/s) 6,5 6,5 25 12,2 25 7,0 8,5 6,8 8,5 6,8 6,0 weight (kg) 160 175 190 210 365 380 790 820 880 1020 1820 oil contents (l) 2 2 3,5 5 3,5 5 5,2 12 5,2 12 30 motor power (kw) 1,5 1,5 4 4 7,5 fuse (A) 10 10 20 20 25 feed line (mm²) 2,5 2,5 2,5 2,5 4 The electrical installation has to be carried out by a skilled person.
