THANK YOU for your donations. Donations help pay operating costs so we are ready to serve you : Tires, Batteries, Repair Costs for vehicles, pumps, hose, radios, emergency medical supplies, personal protection equipment, flashlights and lighting, and fuel Our most urgent need, as we start 2018, is to upgrade our radio communication equipment. Cal Fire has upgraded to a new generation of programmable digital technology. With the terrible 2017 fires in Napa, Santa Rosa, and other parts of California, we were called to backfill and staff Cal Fire stations in a much broader area than before. We learned that public safety (police, fire) departments in the broader Santa Clara County operate with different frequencies and codes than our old radios can interface. As we continue our quest to provide professional service to Cal Fire, and as extreme fire risks continue in CA, we want to prepare ourselves by upgrading our communications equipment. The approximate cost for one radio is about $2,600 per vehicle. Please help. SVVFD is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. You will receive a letter recognizing your donation for tax purposes.
