VEDECOM: MISSION AND VISION For sustainable, safe, efficient and affordable mobility 5 Mission Develop disruptive technologies and a cross-disciplinary vision of new usages, for sustainable, safe, efficient and affordable mobility Vision Collaborative excellence hub, federating the best international industrial and academic actors of the mobility, VEDECOM is the French Institute pioneer of new mobilities at international level

VEDECOM IN THE CENTER OF 3 MAJOR SOCIETY CHALLENGES 6 To contribute to air quality improvement in urban areas and CO2 massive reduction By moving Electric Vehicle from niche to mass market To offer sustainable, safe and efficient mobility By accelerating the introduction of automated cars, with or without driver To optimize mobility systems on territories By analysing and experimenting new services linked with green, autonomous and connected vehicles TRAINING

VEHICLE ELECTRIFICATION 7 Research goal : Improve urban air quality by a dramatic reduction of greenhouse gas emissions Breakthrough - Total cost of ownership - Powertrain cost - Energy storage cost - No limit range - Fast charging - Dynamic charging - Shared network connection

SELF-DRIVING AND CONNECTIVITY 8 Research goal : Boost the emergence of the levels 4 and 5 applications to propose safer and more efficient mobility solutions (increase free time) : Level 4 for passenger cars Level 5 for robot-taxis Breakthrough - Technologies (sensors-ia-ecu, etc.) - Operational safety => SOTIF - Human factors compatibility - Connectivity : 5G and/or G5 - Infrastructure - Societal acceptance - Responsibility / Liability - Law and regulation - Insurance - Ethics

SHARED MOBILITY AND ENERGY 9 Research goal : Optimize future mobility services systems based on carbon-free, connected and self-driving vehicles Breakthrough - Shared energy - New sustainable use - Shared mobility - Multimodal trips - Car-sharing - Car-pooling - Cooperation with local authorities according to the smart cities project for mobility

THE CITY ON THE MOVE INSTITUTE 10 In January 2016, VEDECOM took over the management of the City on the move Institute (IVM). This integration of IVM strengthens VEDECOM s goals in understanding the evolution of lifestyles, territories and territorial governance. The IVM particular methodology balances problem-solving actions (that take the form of concrete social, organizational, scientific, technical and cultural field experiments) implemented in a collaborative context, with data-driven collaborative research programs.
