The viscosities following the dash stand for the range of the operating temperatures, e.g. 30, 40, 50 or 60. The correct selection here can influence effects in the engine. Engine oils with extremely high values of 50 or 60 do not typically survive a long oil change interval because these values are reduced by high shear losses. The above-mentioned viscosity data are not sufficient as the sole data for a lubrication gap subject to pressure and temperature and must also contain the so-called dynamic viscosity HTHS (High Temperature High Shear). This value permits both the ability of the lubricant film to withstand loading and also the influence on fuel economy to be affected. We have two "classes" for use, beginning with the Vectra-C: HTHS 2.9 cpas, GM-LL-A-025, long life, able to withstand high loading, fuel economy effect HTHS 3.5 cpas, GM-LL-B-025, long life, able to withstand extreme loads, with backwards compatibility for "old engines", for lubricating points subject to extremely high loading such as valve bridges in Opel Group 2 diesel engines. Viscosities of 0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-30, 5W-40 are permitted in both grade classes. Engine oils from Model Year 2001 Engine oils which do not conform to the specifications are prohibited for use in Opel engines. No guarantee can be given that they have been optimised with regard to wear characteristics, engine cleanliness and oil sludge prevention. From Model Year 2001 only engine oils meeting the specification: Engine oil grade: ACEA A3/B3 Engine oil viscosity: 0W-30, 5W-30, 10W-30 or greater than 30 may be used. Engine oils in accordance with ACEA specifications A3/B3 prevent deposition under varying operating conditions. Engine oils from model year 2002 Vectra-C, from model year 2003 Meriva and Signum, from MY 2004 Corsa-C / Combo, Agila, from model year 2004 Astra-H

Page 3 of 8 Only engine oil grade GM-LL-A-025 or GM-LL-B-025 (depending on the engine!) with engine oil viscosity SAE 0W-30, 5W-30, 0W-40 or 5W-40 are permitted in "ECOService-Flex" operation. Engine Oil For "ECOService" and "ECOService-Flex" Ex Works In model year 2001 Opel/Vauxhall took the first "ECO" step in the direction of economy and better compatibility with the environment. "ECOService-Flex" is now being introduced as the second step. The oil change and service intervals are flexible and are determined by several parameters depending on the customer's driving style and the driving profile. Various items of engine-specific information are continuously measured and used by the engine control unit to calculate the remaining driving distance and driving time. Service Plan Ex Works Engine oil grade Change intervals Service Plan G, ECOService 1 Petrol and diesel engine ACEA A3/B3 every 12 months / 30,000 km Service Plan H, MY 2001 only X 25 DT ACEA A3/B3 every 12 months / 10,000 km Service Plan M, as of MY 2002 Y 25 DT ACEA A3/B3 every 12 months / 15,000 km Service Plan N Vectra-C and Signum, ECOService-Flex Petrol 1) GM-LL-A-025 2 years / 30,000 km Diesel without DPF 2) GM-LL-B-025 2 years / 50,000 km Service Plan O, Corsa-C / Combo (as of MY 2004), Meriva, ECOService-Flex Petrol 1) GM-LL-A-025 2 years / 30,000 km Diesel GM-LL-B-025 2 years / 50,000 km Service Plan Agila, ECOService 2 (as of MY 2004) Petrol GM-LL-A-025 2 years / 30,000 km Diesel GM-LL-B-025 2 years / 30,000 km Service Plan Astra-H, ECOService-Flex Petrol 1) GM-LL-A-025 2 years / 30,000 km Diesel GM-LL-B-025 2 years / 50,000 km Service Plan 1.9 ECOService-Flex Diesel with and without DPF 2) GM-LL-B-025 2 years / 50,000 km Engines for which oil extraction is permitted. Oil extraction by the Opel Partner is only permitted using a probe in the oil dipstick guide tube for the following engines: Petrol DOHC 0: DOHC I: Diesel OHC 16V (DI Diesel): Z 10 XE and Z 12 XE Z 18 XE Y 17 DT, Y 17 DTL, Y 20 DTL, Y 20 DTH, Y 22 DTH, Y 22 DTR In these engines, the probe cannot turn at the bottom of the oil pan owing to the low position of the oil dipstick guide tube. Insert the suction probe in the oil dipstick guide tube to the deepest point of the engine oil pan (stop can be felt). After completing the draining procedure, check whether the engine oil has been completely drained using the oil dipstick. Otherwise, repeat the draining procedure.

Page 4 of 8 The engine oil should be at operating temperature when performing an oil change (above 80 C). The engine oil should be completely drained from the engine. For this reason, the draining (siphoning) should take as long as possible. Note: Extraction is only possible for the following engines up to and including model year 2003 (VIN no. 3 on the vehicle). Petrol engines DOHC 0: Z 10 XE and Z 12 XE DOHC I: Z 18 XE Diesel engines OHC 16V (DI Diesel): Y 20 DTL, Y 20 DTH, Y 22 DTH and Y 22 DTR Oil consumption All engines consume oil. We differentiate between: Constructive oil consumption (points at which lubricated parts move within components and where leakage is unavoidable) and oil loss (as a result of leaking components and connections, which represent faults and lead to follow-up orders (sealing). The oil consumption measurement is described in the Service Instructions in group "J". Test/check engine oil level, inform customer Please inform the customer that a correct engine oil level contributes to the engine maintaining its value. Too low an engine oil level (below the "MIN mark") damages the engine to the point of becoming a write-off, and too high an engine oil level (above the "MAX mark") damages the catalytic converter, amongst other things. A regular engine oil level check is recommended, especially when travelling short distances. An engine oil level above the "MIN mark" and below the "MAX mark" ( to 3/4 between MIN and MAX) on the dipstick is ideal for any combustion engine and does not require optimisation. Top up quantities of less than 0.5 litres are unnecessary. Additional additives The use of additional additives can lead to damage and cancellation of the warranty. Opel therefore strongly advises you not to use additional engine oil additives. Top up engine oil, inform the customer Engine oil can be refreshed by topping up the oil as required. Despite this however, the oil change intervals specified by the manufacturer must be observed. Oils of various manufacturers and various types can be mixed. However, oil of an inferior grade should not be used. Engine Oil, Meriva, Vectra-C and Signum Note: Ex works, the engines are provided with the corresponding engine oil grades(depending on the engine: GM-LL-A-025 or GM-LL-B-025) and the engine oil viscosity levels 0W-30 for petrol engines and 5W-40 for diesel engines.

Page 5 of 8 If the engine oil is to be topped up during a main/interim service, the appropriate engine oils must be used. Only these approved engine oils are covered by the warranty conditions! Non-Opel / Vauxhall Products In addition to the Opel / Vauxhall engine oil product range, there are other engine oil products which can also meet the high demands. It is absolutely essential to ensure, when using non-opel / Vauxhall products, that the specification (GM-LL-A-025 / GM-LL-B-025) is on the packaging of the respective engine oil. "ECOService-Flex" is programmed in ex works (Service Plan / Checklist "O", "Astra-H", "N" and "1.9 ECOService Flex). As a consequence of individual driving profiles, it is possible to program in ECOService (checklist "G" or "1.9 ECOService") at the first engine oil change. A different engine oil grade is possible in conjunction with this: ACEA-A3/B3. Even if the engine oil viscosity is generally stated first, it is the engine oil grade which is decisive! Engine-linked engine oil grades The engine oil grades for the Agila, the Corsa-C / Combo (as of MY 2004), the Meriva, Astra-H, the Vectra-C and the Signum are linked to different engines: GM-LL-A-025: petrol engines GM-LL-B-025: Diesel engines GM General Motors LL Long life A or B Engine oil grade specification 025 Validity index Note: Higher figures produce revisions of the classification in each case. Engine oils with a higher index in the data can be used. The engine oil grades are not interchangeable because they have different characteristics, e.g. the HTHS value (High Temperature High Shear). In the GM-LL-A-025 this is equal to or greater than 2.9 and in the GM-LL-B-025

Page 6 of 8 it is greater than 3.5. The intention of setting limit values for HTHS is to retain a load-bearing film of lubricant at high oil temperatures and with a high shear gradient (high engine speed). The lower HTHS-value has an advantageous effect on fuel consumption. To put it simply, the decisive factor in "ECOService-Flex" is adherence to the stipulated engine oil grade! The engine oil is an important constituent of the engine structure. The engine oil viscosities are of secondary importance. The new engine oils guarantee that the engine systems are maintained over the stipulated service interval mileages, combined with easy running characteristics for reducing fuel consumption. Exceptions for the customer Petrol engines In exceptional cases the customers of vehicles with petrol engines can use engine oil grades ACEA-A3/B3, ACEA-A3/B4 and ACEA-A5/B5. The engine oil viscosity should be 0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-30 or 5W-40. If the engine oil is topped up within an engine oil change period of two years with more than 1L of engine oil of engine oil grade ACEA-A3/B3, ACEA-A3/B4, ACEA-A5/B5, the "ECOService-Flex" interval (Service Plan / checklist "N". "O" and "Astra-H") and ECOService 2 (Agila) can no longer be used. Instead of this the Service Plan / checklist "G" should be used. In an ideal situation, the Opel / Vauxhall dealer will be informed by the customer if the latter has not topped up with the specified engine oil. The customer is under an obligation if he has used more than 1 litre of engine oil grade ACEA A3/B3, to change the engine oil within one year of the last oil change. Diesel engine Up to one litre of ACEA-A3/B3 or ACEA-A3/B4 is permitted for diesel engines. Engine oil grades ACEA-A1/B1 and ACEA-A5/B5 are expressly prohibited, since long-term engine damage could occur under certain operating conditions. Customer's driving style With "ECOService-Flex", the engine oil change and the service interval are flexible, depending on the customer's driving style and driving profile. The customer can rely on the instrument panel indicator. Various items of engine-specific data are measured continuously for this purpose. The remaining residual distance is calculated by the engine control unit. Residual distance / residual period The residual distance is shown in the rev. counter display, starting from an engine oil change or an engine oil top-up. In an ideal situation, this is 2 years / 35,000 km for petrol engines and 2 years / 50,000 km for diesels. Under extreme operating conditions the overall time interval is reduced to 15 months and 6,800 km. The remaining time is therefore also displayed as the remaining driving distance in km in all cases! (remaining time information in days is therefore not required). If the driver receives a request for servicing via the "infrequent driver's check" after 15 months, the residual distance is set to "0". Service Display Agila, Corsa-C / Combo, Meriva and Astra-H The stated models show the service interval in the following way on the mileage trip display: Astra-H:

Page 7 of 8 Main service warning Main service now Corsa-C / Combo, Meriva: Main service in 500-1500 km Inspection within 500 km

Page 8 of 8 Vectra-C / Signum deviates from these illustrations. Note: The Corsa-C / Combo as of MY 2004, Meriva, Astra-H, Vectra-C and Signum have a service system that meets requirements. Depending on the customer's driving profile the service interval (service check) may be increased (petrol) or reduced (petrol and diesel). Engine oil change sticker, Corsa-C / Combo as of MY 2004, Meriva, Astra-H, Vectra-C, Signum The engine oil change sticker is attached to the B-pillar if the engine control unit is replaced, for cylinder head repairs, all piston repairs and partial engine. An unscheduled engine oil change takes place during these repairs. If an engine control unit was replaced and a sticker was used for the next engine oil change, see TIS (no data from last oil change available). This sticker must be removed from the B-pillar during the next scheduled engine oil change in order to avoid misunderstandings. Disconnecting the Vehicle Battery When the vehicle battery is disconnected, all engine oil service data remain stored and are available again when the battery is reconnected. 1) up to 35,000 km is possible 2) Diesel Particulate Filter
