A colleague of ours recently brought in several old editions of The Friends Calendar from 1976 1981, when we were still known as The New England Home for Little Wanderers working primarily out of the Knight Children s Center in Jamaica Plain. A nice side note to that story is the calendars came from our colleague s father, who, like his son after him, was a social worker at The Home! Today, of course, we are The Home for Little Wanderers with nineteen programs in thirteen facilities from Plymouth to Somerville. Whether the year is 1976 or 2017, art has always been a safe outlet for not just our kids but all children to confront their challenges and imagine what is possible. We hope you enjoy the artwork of children who grew up in our care a generation ago and some fun facts of what was happening in the world around them.
