The year 2014 had its fair share of ups and downs for us at MMM. Highlights include of the launch of the ASX local assembled, Red Peak Challenge and the recent launch of the ASX Designer Edition, a stylish rendition of the SUV created in collaboration with famous local designer Rizalman Ibrahim. At MMM, we always strive to offer products that customers aspire to own, and the ASX Designer Edition is one such example, where fashion meets automobiles. The Mitsubishi Triton VGT Red Peak Limited Edition is another example of enhancing the appeal and value of our best-selling vehicle. Specially created for East Malaysia, the pick-up truck has a distinct sporty flavour customised livery that will stand out in the crowd. The truck was introduced in conjunction with the launch of the Red Peak Challenge in Sabah and Sarawak. For those who participated in our special mobile truck obstacle challenge, thank you for dropping by. We would also like to thank the media for the three awards that the ASX won this year. We are very proud of the ASX as the first Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia vehicle to be locally assembled in Malaysia, and are happy that it has been well received by critics and customers alike. Speaking of awards, the Mirage was also recently recognized as the safest mini car for adult occupants by ASEAN NCAP, proving that being compact does not compromise safety. It is with deep sorrow that I have to also inform that we at MMM have ended the year on a sombre note. The reason I m writing this foreword as acting CEO is because we have lost Tetsuya Oda, CEO of MMM. Mr. Oda passed away on 4 December from a road accident in Kuala Lumpur. He was 48. Mr. Oda has led the company since July 2010. All of us at MMM remember him not just for his leadership - he had a strong desire to push the Mitsubishi brand forward in Malaysia - but for the lives he has touched. Down to earth, dedicated and honourable, we have not only lost an inspiring leader in the organisation, but also a great friend and inspirational mentor to many that he has crossed paths with. May his soul rest in peace. Our hearts are also with those affected by the floods in various parts of Malaysia, as well as the families who have lost loved ones in the unfortunate air disasters that struck 2014. For, all of us at MMM would like to wish you a safe and prosperous year ahead. NEWS Mirage rated as the safest mini car by ASEAN NCAP Best in Adult Occupancy Protection It may be small in size, but the Mitsubishi Mirage is a tough little car. That fact was underlined at the recent ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix Awards held in Kuching, Sarawak. Held in recognition of the top achievers in car crash safety, the event was organised for the first time ever with participation from car manufacturers, industry experts and members of the media. The Grand Prix Awards 2014 focused on the recognition of high achievers in test results released up till August 2014. ASEAN NCAP published its first test results in January 2013. The Mitsubishi Mirage scored the highest in Adult Occupancy Protection in the mini car category. The crash tests were done by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS). The Mirage scored 13.07 out of 16.00 for a 4-star rating in Adult Occupancy Protection. The rating is also applicable to the Mitsubishi Attrage GLS or equivalent variants with similar safety specs. Both the Mirage hatchback and Attrage sedan are manufactured in Thailand for both domestic and export markets. The ASEAN NCAP crash test procedure is conducted through a frontal crash test. The test vehicle impacts the aluminium barrier at 64 km/h with sensors on the vehicle and passenger dummies registering the impact forces. The result is then benchmarked against global NCAP safety standards. ASEAN NCAP, a new addition to the global NCAP organization, has key objectives to enhance vehicle safety standards, raise consumer awareness and to encourage a market for safer vehicles in the Southeast Asian region. 4

NEWS The Mitsubishi ASX CKD Wins Car of the Year Awards! Compact SUV a firm favourite with the motoring media T he Mitsubishi ASX has firmly established itself as top choice of the Malaysian motoring media by recently scooping up three local awards. After clinching the Asian Auto Allianz Auto Best Local Assembled SUV award earlier this year, the ASX recently added two more SUV category titles to its collection, one each from Autocar ASEAN and Cars, Bikes & Trucks. In awarding the title of Best Small/Midsize SUV to the ASX, Autocar ASEAN commented that Mitsubishi s decision to locally assemble the ASX in Malaysia has brought a new wave of attention to the compact SUV that offers a high driving position with the handling dynamics of a saloon. The monthly magazine also said that the ASX is a viable alternative to C-segment sedans with its very attractive price, eye-catching design and compact footprint, while praising the SUV s roomy cabin and generous level of standard equipment. Cars, Bikes & Trucks, the motoring supplement of the New Straits Times daily, called the ASX the best Small/Midsize SUV (4x2) of the Year. Editor of Car, Bikes & Trucks and Head Judge Yamin Vong said: Buying trends plays a pivotal part in the awards this year as market preferences showed that aspects such as drivetrains and body styles were key deciding factors for consumers when purchasing a car. The ASX 4X2 win reveals that buyers are now looking for the functionality and ground clearance of an SUV but without the more expensive all-terrain drivetrain, making it an overall winner. The ASX is the first Mitsubishi model to be assembled in Malaysia by MMM. The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre MIVEC engine with 150 PS and 197 Nm. Both 2WD and 4WD variants utilise a smooth INVECS-III CVT with Sports Mode offering six virtual ratios. Priced from RM114,743.50 to RM128,879.50, the ASX is comes with premium features such as leather seats and an 8-inch touch-screen multimedia head-unit with GPS navigation and reverse camera. NEWS Mitsubishi Red Peak Challenge 4X4s show their mettle on a mobile obstacle truck I nspired by Mitsubishi s victorious outing in the 2014 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Challenge, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia created the Mitsubishi Red Peak Challenge. The first-of-its-kind event, held in major cities and towns across Malaysia, saw Mitsubishi 4x4 vehicles show what they re made off on a specially outfitted mobile obstacle truck. In East Malaysia. The roadshow travelled to Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu, Miri, Tawau, Lahat Datu, Sandakan and Labuan across the South China Sea. Two-time Dakar Rally Champion Hiroshi Masuoka made a special appearance to launch the Red Peak Challenge. Masuoka played a pivotal role in the MMC team that conquered Pikes Peak this year, piloting the fully-electric MiEV Evolution III race car with American Greg Tracy. The team not only succeeded in securing first and second places in the Electric Division, but also second and third overall, challenging and beating more powerful internal combustion engine race cars in the Race to the Clouds. The Red Peak Challenge saw the Triton pick-up truck, the Pajero Sport SUV and the ASX compact SUV go through a range of obstacles including a 45-degree, 25-feet tall sky ramp that points upwards to the sky, the highlight of the show. Other challenges include the roller ramp test that will see the 4x4s drive through the Red Peak Challenge truck as well as side traverse and uneven ramp tests. Admission was free and those who participated in test drives received Mitsubishi merchandise. Mitsubishi Triton VGT Red Peak Limited Edition Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia recently introduced the Mitsubishi Triton VGT Red Peak Limited Edition in conjunction with the launch of the Mitsubishi Red Peak Challenge in East Malaysia. Limited to just 10 units and exclusively for East Malaysian customers, the Triton VGT Red Peak Limited Edition is based on the Triton VGT GS but has added equipment and a sportier look. Priced at RM114,550.00 in Sabah and RM114,640.60 in Sarawak (on-the-road without insurance), the limited edition truck comes with customised body stickers including the racing number of Dakar and Pikes Peak racer Hiroshi Masuoka on the bonnet. Matte black 17-inch alloy rims complete the package. Inside, the standard leather seats get a new design with bold red accents to match the exterior colours. 6

NEWS Mitsubishi ASX Designer Edition Designer touch for the award-winning SUV T 8 he award-winning Mitsubishi ASX is also now a bold fashion statement with the recent introduction of the Mitsubishi ASX Designer Edition. Limited to just 180 units, the special ASX has been worked on by famous Malaysian designer Rizalman Ibrahim. For those looking for a ride that exudes confidence and flair, the ASX Designer Edition is based on the ASX 4WD variant and is only available in Titanium Grey. There s a dark theme going on with matte-finished 17-inch alloy rims and matte grey body stripes that run the length of the SUV s bonnet and rear hatch. In addition, the standard car s bee-sting antenna has been replaced by a shark-fin unit, which gives a cleaner-looking and more aerodynamic complete the changes. I find it to be a stylish SUV with just the right size. It suits my lifestyle as it has ample space to carry my stuff. You never know when you re going to need a new pair of shoes or a new set of clothes for a meeting! It s also very easy to drive and fuel efficient, Rizalman said. The different shades of grey used in the ASX Designer Edition also represent the strength and toughness of the ASX, signifying its suitability for on or off-road conditions. We introduced yellow as an element of fun and contrast, especially in the interior, thus making the ASX Designer Edition an SUV that truly stands out even in challenging conditions, he added. Rizalman has been a fashion designer since roof line. There s also a larger rear spoiler with integrated LED third brake light and dark chrome exhaust finishers for the exterior changes. Inside the ASX Designer Edition, you ll be greeted by a new colour combination for the leather seats and main passenger touch points. Grey and yellow are the chosen colours; the former reflects the ASX s toughness while the bright colour represents fun. Taking cabin centre stage is the grey and yellow gear knob with hand-sewn diamond stitching. Exclusivity is further enhanced via perforated leather on the door panels and arm-rests. Floor mats with the special Designer Edition emblem 1994. His achievements includes winning the Mercedes-Benz Asia Fashion Awards and Star of the Year at the Stylo Red Carpets awards (Mercedez-Benz Stylo Fashion Awards) in 2008. The ASX Designer Edition is priced at RM131,801.50. NEWS Lancer GT Club holds annual gathering and AGM T he Lancer GT Club (LGTC) recently held their annual gathering cum annual general meeting (AGM) in Port Dickson. Just like in previous years, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) was the main sponsor of the event, which was held at The Regency Tanjung Tuan Beach Resort. Around 100 Lancers of different variants including the GT, GLS, EX, GTE, Sportback and Evolution X took part in the convoy drive to PD. Over 170 LGTC members and their families participated in the event. Upon arrival, participants took part in fun games (gunny sack run, giant slippers, monkey ball, the longest line and tug of war) and won hampers for their efforts. MC of the dinner, Johnson Lam, started the function by calling for a moment of silence in remembrance and respect for the late Tetsuya Oda, CEO of MMM. The dinner was themed movies and famous characters Fred Flintstone, The Hatter of Alice in Wonderland and Obi Wan Kenobi of Star Wars were spotted in the crowd. Co-sponsor Altfa Studio set up a photo booth. After speeches by club founder Terence Tana and ex president Suffian Abdul Rahman, 10 80 lucky folks won prizes in the lucky draw. Prizes included a Ralliart antenna and Ralliart tissue box cover sponsored by MMM and items sponsored by Kaki DIY, C&R Autocare and members. The grand prize was an Evolution X hood sponsored by MMM. The AGM was held right after the dinner, where members elected Wan Shahrizan as the new president. After a night of food and fun, the following day was about rest and relaxation, as members took the opportunity to soak in the pool and sea. Some had their dose of watersports before making the drive home. Everyone departed with smiles, already looking forward to next year s gathering.

NEWS Tetsuya Oda 1965-2014 T etsuya Oda, Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, passed away on 4 December 2014. He is survived by his wive and two children. Mr. Oda assumed leadership of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) in July 2010. As CEO of MMM, he pushed the brand to greater heights in Malaysia and invested great effort in the growth of the dealership network across the country. Apart from being a strong leader, Mr. Oda inspired many co-workers by his integrity, dedication and boundless energy. Those lucky to have worked closely with him will recall his modest and down to earth personality. A friend and mentor, he will be missed. 11
