Accessory Installation Practice (read before installation) Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the Accessory Installation Practices document. This document covers such items as: Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.) Safety (eye protection, checking torque procedure, etc.) Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.) Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.) Please see your Lexus dealer for a copy of this document. PREPARATION CAUTION: There are two install locations for the GBS Microphone. You must first determine which Glass your vehicle has. a. b. Perform the Following. Roll down the Drivers window partway. Look at the edge of the window. THIS VEHICLE HAS ACOUSTIC WINDOWS You will need to use sections highlighted in BLUE for this Vehicle. THIS VEHICLE HAS UV WINDOWS You will need to use sections highlighted in YELLOW for this Vehicle. Page 3 of 21

1. Disassembly. (Engine Compartment) a. b. Place the Vehicle in Park with the Parking Brake set. Remove the Engine Cover Press then remove 4 Clips. 10mm Socket c. Disconnect the Negative Battery Terminal. Protect the Fender. Note the Battery Cable Position as it will be re-installed in the same position. CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive Terminal. Screwdriver, Electrical Tape f. Remove Shift knob by turning counter-clockwise. g. Push Shift Release with taped screwdriver and shift to Neutral. h. Pull on the Left side Stick Shift Cover, then pull the Center Cover up and pull on the Right side Stick Shift Cover. i. j. Shift Center Console to the left and place protective blankets. Remove the Center Console Side Trim. Page 9 of 21

10mm Socket, Extension k. Remove 3 Bolts. l. Remove Airbag carefully then wrap it and stack on any object to lift it high enough to prevent tension on the Airbag wire. Page 10 of 21

Phillips Screwdriver m. n. Remove 3 Screws at the bottom of the Glovebox. Open Glovebox and remove 2 Screws. o. Remove the Glovebox by pulling it towards the left side. Page 11 of 21

3. 8mm Socket, Flat Blade Jeweler s Screwdriver GBS ECU and V2 Harness Installation a. Adjust the GBS sensitivity as shown. c. d. Connect the V2 Harness to the GBS ECU. Route the V2 Harness behind the Passenger s Reinforce. e. Plug the V2 Harness to the Vehicle s Pre-Connector in the location shown. Page 13 of 21

Side Cutters f. Route the V2 Harness along the Vehicle Harness and secure with 3 Wire Ties. Page 14 of 21

4. GBS Microphone Installation. Vehicles with UV windows ONLY a. b. Using VDC approved Cleaner and Cleaning Method clean the area indicated on the Glove Under Cover. Remove the Protective Backing from the V2 Microphone. CAUTION: Do not touch the Adhesive Surface. c. Attach the GBS Microphone on Glovebox Under Cover. d. Lift protective padding from the Glovebox Under Cover. Use 1 Foam Tape to secure the GBS Microphone. e. Plug the 2P Connectors. f. Install the Glovebox Under Cover. Page 15 of 21

Vehicles with Acoustic windows ONLY g. Lift protective padding from the Glovebox Under Cover. h. Using VDC approved Cleaner and Cleaning Method clean the area indicated on the Glove Under Cover. i. Remove the Protective Backing from the V2 Microphone. CAUTION: Do not touch the Adhesive Surface. j. Attach the GBS Microphone on the Glovebox Under Cover as shown. Make sure to align the GBS Microphone to the edge of the Glovebox Hole. k. Use 1 Foam Tape to secure the GBS Microphone. CAUTION: Do not cover the Microphone Opening with the Foam Tape. l. Plug the 2P Connectors. m. Install the Glovebox Under Cover. Page 16 of 21

5. Complete the Installation. a. Reassemble the Vehicle. NOTE: When reinstalling Knee Airbag, make sure to tighten the Bolts to 88.5 in lbf (10 N m). VERIFY: That panels fit together properly, with no uneven gaps. VERIFY: That all Connectors are plugged in. b. c. Use Household Glass Cleaner to clean the inside of the Front Door Windows. Use a piece of Clear Tape to lift the Label from the protective backing. CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface. d. Attach the Label as shown. NOTE: Make sure to Align according to Etching or Other Label. REPEAT: steps b d with the other Window. Fig. 5-3 e. Verify that the Short Pin is Installed. If not Install now. Page 17 of 21

f. Position the Negative Battery Cable at the original factory position. Tighten the Nut to 36 in lbf (4.07 N m) CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive Terminal. g. h. i. j. k. Clean up and Remove trash. Sealed in its protective bag, place the Owner s Manual in the Glovebox. Reset the power windows. Turn the ignition ON. Lower the Windows halfway. Pull up on the Power Window Switches until the windows close. Continue to hold up on the switches for a minimum of 1 Second. Reset the Moon Roof. Open the Moon Roof halfway. Push and hold the Moon Roof Switch to close until the Moon Roof closes. Continue to hold the switch for a minimum of 1 Second. Reset the tailgate door. Push door lock control switch to the unlock side. Pull up tailgate door handle. Page 18 of 21

CHECKLIST these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Accessory Function Checks Roll up all windows, and exit the vehicle with remote. Take out the Smart Key and the Smart Card Key from the Vehicle. Place them 7 ft. (2 meters) or more away from the Vehicle. 1 Press and release the remote control lock button to start the system s arming process. The turn signal lights flash once All doors lock. The Security LED lights up. 2 Wait 30 seconds. Security LED starts flashing; the system is now armed. Perform the following check in a temperature controlled environment (50-90 F) 3 With the tip of a key, or Striker Tool pulled all the way out (PPO only), tap the center of the driver s door window to trigger the alarm. The horn sounds repeatedly. The headlights flash repeatedly. The turn signal lights flash repeatedly. The security LED lights up. 4 Insert the key into the driver s door key cylinder and turn it toward the back of the vehicle to stop the alarm. The horn stops sounding. All the lights stop flashing and/ or turn off. The Security LED turns off. NOTE: If the alarm does not trigger during functional verifications, the Smart Key and Smart Card Key might be too close. Move them farther from the vehicle and test the system again. NOTE: If the alarm does not trigger during functional verifications, increase the GBS sensitivity to the next setting and test again. NOTE: If you do not disarm the system, the alarm will last 20 seconds. It is not necessary to check the alarm duration. Page 19 of 21

Wiper/Washer Hood Latch Release Passenger Air Bag Switch (if equipped) Rollover Side Curtain Air Bag Switch (RSCA) (if equipped) Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Prior to TPMS activation and Pre-delivery Service (PDS) of the Vehicle the TPMS light will blink when IG is turned on. After TPMS activation and PDS of the Vehicle the TPMS light will illuminate for a few seconds and go off when IG is turned on. Remove the short pin after Function check. Check with your Port/Dealer to see if this step is necessary. Page 21 of 21
