Spanners (spanner for 17mm nuts and special spanner) 11. Motor ventilation holes INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFETY AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION DURING WORK Besides the rules discussed in the Safety Instructions leaflet, do the following: - pull out the power supply plug from the mains socket before performing any service operations; - grip the machine firmly and keep it over the worked surface before switching on; - fix working disks properly (in the correct way). MACHINE ASSEMBLY - Install heat shield (6) on intersecting axis gear ensuring that its holes coincide with the holes in the gear housing; - Screw auxiliary grip (5) into one of the holes; the grip may be installed either on the left or right side of the tool housing; screw one of provided screws into the other hole; - If the tool is to be used without the side grip, the heat shield has to be fixed in place with the screws delivered in the set. WORKING DISK INSTALLATION - Install working disk (8) on rotating pin (4); - Screw on working disk fixing nut (7) and tighten it up using a special spanner; use a spanner for 17mm nuts in order to prevent displacement of the rotating pin. BEFORE START-UP Make sure that: - the power supply line complies with the tool characteristics; - the power cable and plug are in ideal condition; - the power switch ON/OFF works correctly with cut off power supply; - all machine parts are installed properly and don t show any damage; - ventilation holes are clear. 3
START-UP Switching on and off - Switching on: move switch (2) forward; if the tool is to be blocked in the ON position, press the front part of the switch at the same time. - Switching off: release the switch or, if the switch is blocked, press its rear part and let it return to OFF position. OPERATION TEST - Switch on the machine and check if working disk does not cause any excessive vibrations, and/or that the polishing cover is not loosened. If yes, immediately switch off the machine and eliminate abnormalities. MOTOR SPEED ADJUSTMENT (LH16E, LH16EN) - The number of revolutions per minute is adjustable by turning the knob (9), installed in the rear part of the tool. Set the motor speed according to the polishing materials and worked material characteristics. WORKING DISK REMOVAL - Immobilise the rotating pin using the 17mm spanner. - Loosen working disk fixing nut (7) using a special spanner. Use of any other tool is strictly forbidden. RECOMMENDED (ADVISABLE) WORKING TOOLS Working disks with diameter up to 200mm. MAINTENANCE Any operations should be carried out with the power cable plug removed from the mains. After completion of work and in all necessary cases remove dust from the machine body using a compressed air jet. In particular, remember to clean the motor ventilation gaps. No other intervention by the user is recommended. Only the authorised Service Centre may perform maintenance operations and the cleaning of internal machine elements, including: ball bearings, gears, etc. ELECTRIC SAFETY (LOW VOLTAGE) The tests were performed according to the following standards: EN 50144-1 safety of power tools with portable motors; EN 50144-2-4 particular rules for sanders. LEVEL OF NOISE EMITTED BY THE MACHINE Noise generated by the tool in normal operating conditions is 88.7 db (A), measured according to the EN 23744 standard. Take appropriate precautions to protect your hearing. AVERAGE ACCELERATION VALUE The average acceleration value is lower than 2.5 m/sec 2, measured in compliance with the UNI EN 28662 standard.
