Technical Description Multi-Use Drill Rig Model MDT 40 K The MDT 45 K model is positioned in the average-small size segment of the drill rigs. It was thought out especially for heavy works on the construction site with restricted space and is characterized by high manoeuvrability, reliability and productivity, thanks to the adoption of numerous innovative technical solutions. During the design stage active and passive protection devices were foreseen, in order to guarantee safe working conditions to the operator and other personnel. Design decisions taken for MDT 45 K are made with consideration of the construction site s necessities, requiring the possibility to carry out different types of work using the same equipment especially in small tunnel, underground cantina ecc. So this drill rig model is suitable for a wide range of applications including micropiles, tie rods, jet grouting injections coring operations and For pooling operation Moreover the following peculiarities are to be highlighted: High stability permits to use up to 2,00 m rods with a passage of 220 mm Minimum size permit to pass through standard doors and work at the minimum clearance of 2,200 mm with 1,00 m rod. Standard radio control for an overall vision of work area and significant moving and placing time reduction. Last, but not least, the loading and unloading operations effected in safe conditions. Automatic power distribution system for improving the drilling rig performance and keeping the productivity at a high level. Automatic mechanisms adoption makes the use of the drilling rig much easier even for less experienced personnel. The drilling rig meets the CE norms, the EN 791 norm in particular.

Rig body The frame is made of electro welded steel; hydraulic oil and diesel tanks are the integral part. Diesel propulsion unit is installed in the longitudinal position; main pumps are positioned on the flywheel axis; and the supplementary power take-off of the engine supplies energy to auxiliary hydraulic pump, arranged for the secondary services of the drilling rig. A group of distributors are maximum easily reachable, thanks to their position on the side of the rig body. Controls Radio remote control All functions of, movement-stabilization of the drill rig, mast placement and work are operated by radio control in order to reduce wasted time of travel and placement. A selection made through the main function selector turns on alternatively selectors and switches on the radio control board, to specific functions related to rig translation stabilizing, mast positioning and work operation, this avoids undesired rig movements which contradict the selected function. Working pressure control devices and adjustment panel The machine is provided with two gauges to monitor working pressure with two pressure control devices for the rotary and thrust force, also can be monitoring through a visor existing on the radio control. Other control devices can be added, if required (optional). Thrust balance regulator with its pressure gauge; Clamping pressure regulator for both clamps; Pressure control device with two regulators for separate managing of the pressure of the two clamps. (Optional) Electric control panel, hermetically lock, is positioned and incorporated into a body structure. A radio control panel includes a multipolar socket for the connection of the remote control. Power Unit The diesel engine is installed longitudinally in the inferior part of the machine with interposition of anti-vibration mounts. The propulsion unit was provided with a self-control device fitted to indicate alarming and anomalous situations, the nature of which is visualized on the liquid-crystal display. All the cylinders are equipped with movement control valves flanged on the bearing blocks, that are integral with the cylinders themselves and are connected to pressure chambers through metallic pipes without connecting fittings.

Mast slewing and fifth wheel The main fifth wheel, positioned on the rig structure, is provided with a coarse pitch toothing and is moved by epicyclical reduction gear, having an integrated pinion, able to support a huge radial load which permit horizontal operation up to 2.670 mm The fifth wheel near the mast is moved by one cylinder, equipped with the control valves. The mast slewing movement is obtained through the fifth wheel rotation, for drilling works outside and inside. Considerable sturdiness of the structure and articulated joints including a telescopic zoom, ensures precise positioning of the mast, reducing at the same time moving and shaking, caused while stressing during different working stages. Mast Unit The mast made with high yield value steel; it is provided with lateral guides of special steel for the sliding of the rotary head trolley and for the longitudinal movement. Movement lights Lights are fed by electric circuit of the machine to light up the surrounding environment during the movement. NB These lights are not used during the phases of working, but only for traverse operations. Fire Extinguisher The rig, arranged for underground works, is equipped with an aerosol fire extinguisher, placed inside of the frame, in the engine unit, suitable for extinctions in close environments, for fires from: Solid combustible materials (Class A fire) which are wood, paper, textile, composite materials, plastic materials and others. Liquid combustible materials (Class B fire) which are lubricating oils, petrol and other products of petroliferous refining, organic solvents, resin etc. Combustible or inflammable substances of gaseous type (Class C fire) which are LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), methane, polar solvent vapours, acetylene.

Electronic and electrical equipment, also energized, up to 40 KV, which are electrical switchboards, dry and oil transformers, cable tunnel, transforming and distribution substations, electronic equipment for telephony and telematic apparatus. The system is activated manually through the switch placed near the control console and protected by a frangible glass. Data parameter recorder RDF1000 The measurement system RDF1000 it is a data capture/display of drilling and injection parameters that take part in the Jet-Grouting. The instrument permits to measure and to record following parameters: During drilling phase: Drilling depth Feed speed of the rig Air pressure of drilling Drilling fluid pressure Instantaneous flow rate of drilling fluid Rig rotation speed During pullback/injection phase: Drilling depth Tool extraction speed Injected mixture volume Injected mixture pressure Injected mixture instantaneous flow rate Tool rotation speed The RDF1000 is built in the aluminium box container of small dimension; the operator interface is made up of the backlight LCD screen of high readability, with 4 lines of 20 letters and a watertight keyboard of scratch-proof polycarbonate, with 18 keys, by which it is possible to type alphanumeric data input. The connection with sensors on the site is performed with a multiple connector that consents an easy assembly and connection. The memorized data buffer consists of a solid extractable hard disk (memory card dimension). At the end of storage phase, all data must be transferred to any portable PC provided with PCMCI interface. In case, where a PC has not a PCMCI connector, the system can be provided (optional) with a reader connectable directly to the serial of the PC.
