SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 1. Read this guide and all labels carefully. Follow the operating procedures as described. 2. Follow ALL the operator safety instructions found in the prime mover s owner s manual. 3. VERIFY that the pusher is properly and securely attached before moving the prime mover 4. NEVER get under the unit during maintenance procedures without properly securing the unit 5. ALWAYS take a few minutes to properly secure the unit using dunnage or jack stands to ensure safety during maintenance. 6. DO NOT rely solely upon the hydraulics of your machine to secure the unit during maintenance. 7. NEVER get between the prime mover and the unit while attaching or operating. 8. ALWAYS be sure to keep hands and feet away from designated pinch points. 9. DO NOT place hands or feet under the unit or the prime mover. 10. NEVER stand in front of a unit while prime mover is in operation. 11. Always lower pusher when prime mover is not in use. OPERATING THE UNIT To ensure your unit will provide you with years of service with minimal maintenance follow these simple instructions: 1. Once the Savik ERG is properly attached to your machine it MUST be leveled BEFORE plowing. 2. To level the unit set it down and adjust the curl of your bucket, making sure that the top of the side plates are parallel to the plowing surface. In addition, Pro- Tech also sells an electronic sensor which assists in keeping the unit level and monitors down pressure. 3. To ensure proper contact with the plowing surface, drive your machine forward approximately 20, check surface area under your machine to ensure that plowing area is clean. If your plowing area is not completely clear, apply more down pressure to your Savik ERG to achieve optimal surface outcome. IMPORTANT: Binders must be properly tightened prior to transportation or high speed use. 4. DO NOT apply excessive down force to the unit while plowing. This will considerably shorten the life of your wear shoes and cutting edges and is NOT necessary for proper plowing. 5. If possible, always operate your machine in the float position. The Savik ERG s steel trip mechanism is designed for use with the bucket in float. If not in float, the unit may not trip properly over obstacles and could result in damage to the pusher and/or the plowing surface.

CONNECTION OPTIONS: Binding Bucket Clamp: Universal Coupler: Other: Custom quick couplers and custom mounts are available upon request.

ATTACHING THE UNIT: BINDING BUCKET CLAMP Before use, the storage stands must be removed and stowed on the rear of the unit. The Savik ERG is shipped with the storage stands and wear shoes in a lowered position. Drive the cutting edge of the bucket into the connection receiver. Engage the binding bucket clamps by extending the ratchet binders until they properly seated against the bucket. Note: The ratchet binders should be checked after the first hour of operation and tightened as needed. The wear shoes need to be raised to approximately 1 above the plowing surface by adjusting the washer positions. The wear shoes may be adjusted as the cutting edge wears or to meet certain plowing requirements, based on operator preference.

Always operate the pusher level to the plowing surface. 2. Drive machine into the adapter located on the back of the Savik ERG. Also available for your Savik ERG is the ERG Plow Sensor to aid in keeping the plow level and to also monitor cutting edge down pressure. Refer to the ERG Plow Sensor User Guide for installation and usage instructions. 3. Tilt back to seat the lower part of the coupler and engage the locking pins. 4. Remove storage stands and store in place at rear of the unit. ATTACHING THE UNIT: UNIVERSAL COUPLER Your Savik ERG Skidsteer Model is equipped with the manufacturer s OEM Quick Coupler 1. Remove the bucket from your skid-steer

5. Your unit is ready for plowing. MAINTENANCE & STORAGE Your Savik ERG requires only minimal service to remain in top condition. Follow these simple guidelines to ensure proper plowing and long life. Wash off any salt and debris Check the condition of wear parts. Replace as needed Repair any damage to rigid areas. Touch-up any bare areas with paint. Tighten and secure any loose hardware. Lubricate the ratchet binder threads with grease or never-seize. Store the unit on dry ground. To achieve optimum unit life, store the unit covered or away from direct sunlight. When the unit is in its final storage location, adjust the rear shoes to the lowest position to maximize the support of the pusher in storage. Verify that the poly trip hinge is relaxed and not stressed.

Installing Poly Hinge and Cutting Edge Affix poly hinge to lower edge of unit using 3/4 hardware and 2 wide hold down. Affix steel cutting edge to bottom of poly hinge using 3/4 hardware. Do not tighten hardware at this stage. Begin tightening all hardware using the following procedure and torque specifications: Torque Sequence (1) Tighten first at 130 ft/lb (2) Tighten second at 160 ft/lb (3) Tighten third at 130 ft/lb (4) Tighten fourth at 160 ft/lb NOTE: Check for proper torque at all locations upon completion of step 4. Especially at locations labeled (1). Figure 3 Caution: Tightening sequence and torque ratings must be followed for optimum performance

WEAR SHOES Every Savik ERG is equipped with two hardened, abrasion resistant wear shoes that are replaceable to provide seasons of use by offering superior protection against wear and tear. When replacement is required, follow these guidelines: 1. Raise your Savik ERG off the ground and secure using dunnage or jack stands. 2. Remove lynch pin holding the wear shoe assembly in place and carefully remove. IMPORTANT: Wear shoes are very heavy, please use caution during the removal and installation. 3. Slide new wear shoe into mount with included height adjustment spacers. 4. Secure wear shoe with lynch pin.
