AUTOMATED TEST LANE HOFMANN s modernised, wirelessly-operated and tablet-enabled ATL is an industryleading, DVSA-approved automated test lane system for one-person operated MOT testing for class IV and VII with the optional class I, II, III and class VL ability. At the heart of the HOFMANN ATL is the geogas 5000, with a large 27-inch monitor providing clear visible information in your workshop. On top of that you have the convenience of the bay being completely wireless and being able to work via a tablet. This allows you to use the tablet to enter the results for the individual tests on the DVSA form as well as it being the driver for the brake and emissions test. Using the tablet means you can easily see the live readings without having to leave the vehicle. Your results can then be wirelessly sent to a printer that can be located anywhere in your garage. Individual customer vehicle details, data and test results can be stored for recall at any time. Using Windows-based, icon-driven software, the HOFMANN ATL requires minimum training for the test to be completed. Test procedures can be performed in fully automatic mode or manually. The geogas 5000 includes a wireless smoke head (Class A\Class B approved), a wireless RPM and oil temperature measurement device as well as a ripple\battery measurement function. Plus we have extended the capability of our emissions range to now include a new wireless EOBD RPM, oil temperature trigger device for diesel testing. This device allows triggering of low emission diesel vehicles RPM and oil temperature by simply plugging the adaptor into the EOBD port in the vehicle and the readings will be wirelessly transmitted back to the workstation. This new method has been officially approved. The brake rollers have a fully galvanised steel chassis for maximum protection against corrosion, and have been designed for installation into a dedicated recess. The unique dimpled rollers provide better grip in wet tyre conditions ensuring accurate brake testing and diagnosis. The 4 post lift comes with rear slip plates and turnplates built in as standard, along with a long 5.2m or 5.7m platform length. This high quality lift goes through a rigorous 66-point check procedure before it is even despatched to you for installation by our expert installation team. ONE PERSON TEST LANE (OPTL) The HOFMANN One Person Test Lane is a great opportunity for your garage if you already have an existing MOT Bay in your workshop. By upgrading your MOT Bay to a One Person Test Lane you can dramatically reduce your labour costs per MOT. atl/mot equipment HOFMANN BRAKE TESTER The new generation of HOFMANN Brake Testers now uses a solid state motor control system and for new HOFMANN ATL lanes includes wireless connectivity to the PC. With the wireless connectivity option between the roller chassis control box and the PC you have the flexibility to place your PC/display in the most convenient place in the workshop for testing (within the required range). The elimination of cables reduces the cause of trip hazards and wire damage. There are two chassis options available: 700mm rollers have a drive over capacity of up to 4000kg (800Kgf brake force) and can be used for MOT class I, II, III, and IV. 1000mm rollers have a drive over capacity up to 6000KG (1250Kgf brake force) and can be used for MOT class I, II, III, IV, VL and VII. (class I and II require optional adaptor plate). The chassis are built from fully galvanised steel for long life and roller covers as standard. The dimpled roller surface is designed to offer protection to tyres whilst giving a coefficient similar to the road surface, allowing for accurate and repeatable results wet or dry. The roller brake surface also includes a 10-year warranty. The graphical user interface is designed for ease of use and simulates the well known meter displays from the older analogue units whilst including all the benefits of modern technology and the latest ATL test procedure and manual brake testing functions. The weighing system allows weighing by wheel (standard on ATL, optional on non-atl) as well as the auto sensing 4x4 option as standard. HOFMANN Brake Testers are supplied with a 21-inch monitor, laser printer and database for saving test results as standard. Once the brake test is completed the results can be reviewed in the following ways: On the display with highlighting of any errors Printed and also recording reason for failure if applicable You can store the results into the database for recalling at a later date Recall and review the results in a graphical format. JACKING BEAM There are two options of jacking beams available, 2000 kg for class IV and 2800 kg for class VII. They feature a two-stage mechanical safety lock and telescopic finger guards to prevent accidental injury. The beams have spring-loaded flat arms with roller bearings, and when unloaded these support the weight of the beam allowing the entire unit to run smoothly along the pit or ramp, but when loaded they locate the unit firmly. The Headlight Tester also benefits from two lasers: the first for longitude alignment with the vehicle; the second a forward-facing laser, central to the lens for setting the height against the vehicle. Both lasers come with a 30-second auto-off timer as standard. HOFMANN s Headlight Tester is approved by DVSA for the testing of all vehicle classes with the appropriate rails at four meters for cars and light commercials. For class V testing of HGV/PSV vehicles, an optional unit is available. Additional extension rails are available upon request. The HOFMANN geogas 5000, diagnostic gas analyser and emissions platform has been developed with all the above qualities in mind, but also provides the modern workshop with an expandable tool that can grow and develop with your business. The geogas 5000 is available as a combined unit with the wireless smoke meter. With fast warm-up and initialisation the geogas 5000 Combi is ready for action in a matter of seconds. The unit is operated through a simple, icon-based navigation system that can be used without any special training. A remote control device is provided so that you can even operate the programme while sitting in the car or walking around the bay. The geogas 5000 Combi is powered by an industrial standard PC, with a large 27-inch flatscreen monitor providing the test technician with clear and easily visible information, plus a wireless printer for hard copy printout of test results. WIRELESS SMOKE METER HOFMANN supplies the DSS 10 Diagnostic Wireless Smoke Meter as part of the geogas range of DVSA approved emissions testers. The wireless DSS 10 provides fast accurate testing of diesel emissions for both mandatory and voluntary test procedures. The Wireless Smoke Meter has an automatic standby mode which is activated if the unit is left out of the charger and is not in use, helping to preserve the battery power.
