Non-Normal Checklist ENGINE FIRE ON THE GROUND Chapter NNC Mixture.. CUT OFF If the engine is running, keep it working to take the fire into the engine. If the engine does not start go for the following procedure: Throttle. FULL Starter... ON Fuel Selector CLOSED If the engine remains on fire for a few seconds, use the best fire extinguisher available. ENGINE FAILURE DURING TAKE-OFF If there s still enough runway to stop, reject takeoff and stop ahead. Throttles IDLE Brakes.. APPLY If there s no longer runway to stop, maintain airplane control and go for the following procedure: Speed. (78) 92 KT Landing Gear. UP Flaps. UP Mixture (operative).. RICH Propeller (operative) (2800) 2600 RPM Throttle (operative) 40 InHg Cowl Flaps SET If there s no obstacle to clear, maintain Vyse 92KT, otherwise maintain Vxse 78KT until you have cleared the obstacle and then accelerate to Vyse 92KT. Use 2800 RPM only for 5 minutes after takeoff thrust is set. Feather the propeller as soon as possible. See FEATHER. ENGINE FIRE IN FLIGHT Fuel Selector... CLOSED Feather the propeller as soon as possible. See FEATHER. Julho/2014 D4700PVPUCRSQRH5 REV. 4 5.1.4
ENGINE FAILURE DURING FLIGHT Maintain airplane control and go for the following procedure: Speed. 92 KT Landing Gear. UP Flaps. UP Mixture (operative). ENRICH Propeller (operative). 2600 RPM Throttle (operative) 40 InHg Cowl Flaps SET Throttle (inoperative) RETARD & CHECK NOTE Leaning may be required for smooth operation at altitudes above 15000 feet or for RPM s below 2300. If unable to maintain altitude inform ATC and start Driftdown to a lower altitude maintaining 92 Kt. If altitude permits, attempt to restore power prior to feathering. See ENGINE FAILURE RESEARCH. If altitude does not permit, continue with feathering procedure. See FEATHER. ENGINE FAILURE RESEARCH Engine Instruments CHECKED Fuel Selector... CROSSFEED Alternate Air. OPEN Magnetos.. CHECKED L & R Fuel Pump. (ON) unlatch, HI Fuel Pump. (if power is not restored) OFF If power restore, consider an ENGINE DRIVEN FUEL PUMP FAILURE. If power cannot be restored, continue with feathering procedure. See FEATHER. Julho/2014 D4700PVPUCRSQRH5 REV. 4 5.1.5
FEATHER (SHUTDOWN) Inoperative Engine IDENTIFIED Throttle.... IDLE Propeller.... FEATHERED Mixture........ CUT OFF If the workload permits complete shut down procedure. See ENGINE SECURE. ENGINE SECURE (SHUTDOWN) Fuel Selector... CLOSED Fuel Pump. OFF Magnetos...OFF Alternator.. OFF Electric Load....REDUCE If you did not try to restore power yet and altitude permits, do it now. See UNFEATHER. If the engine is secure remember to use crossfeed in level flight only. UNFEATHER (START) Fuel Selector OPEN Fuel Pump.. (ON) LO Throttle ¼ INCHES Propeller FULL RPM Mixture. RICH Magnetos ON BOTH Starter.. ON If the engine restore power, reduce throttle to warm up before restablish cruise thrust. Once the engine is working fine, switch on the alternator and electrical switches. If the engine does not restore power, continue with feathering procedure. See FEATHER. Julho/2014 D4700PVPUCRSQRH5 REV. 4 5.1.6
PROPELLER OVERSPEED Throttle.. IDLE Propeller.. MIN RPM Airspeed REDUCE Throttle 2600 RPM ENGINE DRIVEN FUEL PUMP FAILURE Fuel Pump.. (ON) unlatch, HI If the engine recover power, the electrical fuel pump will provide enough fuel pressure to maintain 75% power, to adjust any combination of manifold pressure and RPM see POWER SETTING TABLE. NOTE If the engine does not restart, shut down the fuel pump. No indication of fuel flow may suggest a fuel leak on the line or ran out of fuel. ELECTRICAL FAILURE If the ALT light is on at the caution light panel. Ammeters CHECK Identify the inoperative alternator. If there is no current indication on ammeter. Electrical Load. REDUCE Alternator CYCLE NOTE Magnetic compass error may exceed 10 with both alternators inoperative. NOTE If battery is discharged, manually lower landing gear. See LANDING GEAR MANUAL EXTENTION. Julho/2014 D4700PVPUCRSQRH5 REV. 4 5.1.7
SUCTION FAILURE Propeller...... 2600 RPM Altitude....... DESCENT If the suction pressure is below 4,5 InHg, use the turn coordinator to monitor the atitude indicator. EMERGENCY DESCENT Throttle.. IDLE Propeller FULL RPM Landing Gear Lever.. DOWN Speed 130 KT SPIN RECOVERY Throttle.. IDLE Rudder. (oposite direction of rotation) FULL Control Wheel.. release back pressure, (if nose does not drop) FORWARD Aileron. NEUTRAL Rudder.. (when rotation stops) NEUTRAL Control Wheel back pressure, to recover from dive. Julho/2014 D4700PVPUCRSQRH5 REV. 4 5.1.8
LANDING GEAR MANUAL EXTENTION Circuit Breakers CHECK Battery.. ON Alternators.. CHECK Navigation Lights OFF Speed. 85 KT or LESS Landing Gear Lever.. DOWN Emergency Gear HandleUNLOCK & PULL Maintain the emergency gear handle pulled until the landing gear is down and locked. Landing Gear Lights 3 GREEN Consider a low pass to a visual check if one or more landing gear light still off. LANDING GEAR UP LANDING Just before land: Throttles.. IDLE Battery OFF Magnetos.. OFF Fuel Selectors.. CLOSED Julho/2014 D4700PVPUCRSQRH5 REV. 4 5.1.9
ENGINE INOPERATIVE LANDING To be acomplished before final approach. (When cleared to approach) Inoperative Engine. FEATHERED Rudder Trim.. AS REQUIRED Vref.. 90 KT ENGINE INOPERATIVE GO AROUND Avoid engine inoperative go around procedure as much as possible. Speed.
